Sounds like there might be a backing track reinforcing his vocal, natural voice might have been a little bit off. I could be wrong, that’s just a guess
I believe he's hitting the edge of breakup on his voice, almost like a controlled voice crack between screaming and singing a note with your vocal chords.. I've done it to my voice where it sounds like I'm almost hitting two notes simultaneously. Then there's reverb and delay on spencer too, so that's adding to the effect.
It's a very note controlled fry scream. Listen to Andy Cizek in the last Termina song Parasocial. He does it all the time now in his newer material. Does it on Lavos well in Monuments. It's an interesting technique to try to pick up. Good luck!
He’s definitely more tired or maybe sick at this show if you compare to some others on this tour, so he held back a bit and rather than pushing the “note” through, he lets the scream do it abit more of the work!
@@justahusk8151 He's just looking at Mark as he does it. You can hear both of their voices and you can also clearly see him do it in the second line at 24:45. Also I saw them do it live lol.
I still feel a bit bad that the periphery set list for the very first show of the tour which i went too got messed because of what happened to loathe. As you see they play reptile, ragnarok, wildfire, atropos, and marigold. In the first show they played ragnarok, wildfire, atropos, the bad thing, follow your ghost, and marigold. They lost a good 10 minutes but I still love them and I'm glad they were able to play the full amount of time.
?? Did they use the backing track for the first guitar solo in Atropos ?? Love these guys music, no biggy.. Would really love to see them hire a touring bassist, like, davie504 or somebody else with chops, just to really fill out the live sound. ty 4 postin! enjoyed!
yeah according to the documentary they released recently for the new album both Mark and Misha thought the arpeggio was too hard to play live because it's really fast, so that's why it's a backtrack instead.
@@Blitzcreed69 I don't mind the backing track, Don't get me wrong. Ironic? they have three guitar players And they put the guitar solo on a backing track though, you got to admit

Maybe that's it, idk! Or, maybe he did play it back there for all I know. What do you think? I also seen periphery with a bass player early on and that was by far the best I've ever heard them sound live granted It was a tiny club so packed I could barely see glimpses here and there of anything on the stage being it was literally 6 in tall, But that had a lot to do with why I fell in love with them. When I seen Devin Townsend Just play by himself that was my favorite performance by him and I've seen all his tours that came through including strapping young lad, But that's just me. Thanks for uploading!
For anyone interested:
00:00 (Reptile)
16:30 (Ragnarok)
21:06 (Wildfire)
28:21 (Atropos)
36:39 (Marigold)
Thank you bro. I was waiting for a track list. I don’t know their older songs that well
thanks for commenting!
Spencer has gotten so much better live, it's insane the amount of progress he made
Atropos was insane live, he crushed it
Hard work pays off, love to see it.
He's an animal and a borderline lunatic to open with Reptile habitually. That and a consumate showman. He takes it personally
17:47 - 18:36... Randy Blythe???.. wtf Spencer, the beast. jajajajajajajajajaj... the guitars 10/10. The drums 11/10
true
10:06 yoo Mark's growl
18:15 holy shit!!
Hoping they headline their own tour soon
Spencer's growls at 9:55😳
Goddamn Spencer 😮
Mrak be croshin that Reptile solo.
THANK YOU for recording the entire set! They absolutely crushed it \m/
Is the entire set 42mns long ??!!!
@@aurelienhaplos8597 It sure is :)
Just saw them last night in nashville and holy fucking shit they are amazing!!
LMFAO THANK YOU SM FOR THIS IVE BEEN TRYING TO FIND ME N MY FRIEND CROWDSURFING AT 23:21
Thank you 👏🤘🔥
hoooly shit, spencer's scream repertory has improved like crazy
They are fantastic live!!!🤘🤘
Pinch harmonic dual @20:45
awesomesauce
What a band!
Fucking Spencer's pig squeal sounds like Cleric Beast from Bloodborne
Holy shit Reptile makes me have to lay down afterwards
Been trying to find this set list
Such a great show! I had a blast, all the bands killed it
Bro holy fuck lmfao 18:13
These guys make it seem easy, however making music is one of the hardest things I've ever tried. 😳
Fucking love this band. They killed it, I missed it! Next time for fucking sure. I’ll sell something I don’t use to get there
Jake is metamorphosing into his uncle more every day.
Nah I was thinking Jake is starting to look like Petrucci LMAO
bro, how tf is spencer so good? omg
well, Jake has certainly gotten over his shyness in doing backing vocals
20:20 what was spencer doing here. It sounded like was hitting also not hitting that note at the same time

that's fuckin badass
Pretty sick! But I had to put my digital vibrance to 35% to be able to see it ;)
I must have not been paying close enough attention....Mark growling out "mistakes" during "Wildfire" was startling!
It was Mark and Jake both if you look closer. Sounds so fucking good, they were doing that a East Moline too.
@@mrmuffinz126 No, Jake is turning away from his mic when Mark sings it.
@@justahusk8151 Did you watch both parts?
@@mrmuffinz126 I did. The second one is more difuse on whether Jake is actually screaming, or if he is just standing next to his mic now haha

I was too distracted by all the phones. Music sounded good though. Nice work on quality audio.
What song at 16:30?!
Ragnarok
P2 classic homie
21:45 “Guys look, He said the word”
Oh dang they played Ragnarok, they don't play that live very often anymore
dude... spencers lows in ragnarok threw me off. i kinda forgot he could get that low
