Love how the organist (who's NOT named in the description, nor the guest choir, great going First-Plymouth) shows off the various colours of the organ on each verse. Beautifully played and sung. It's too bad that we'll never know who the guest organist and choir was, who was the genius who omitted them from the description??
This is a classic 'how NOT to sing a hymn'! Such a beautiful hymns, delivered with zero inspiration, life, joy and fire. Why does everyone look so gloomy; singing like they got no veins in them? Why should anyone leave their bed on a Sunday morning to come into a space where people stand and sing like inanimate objects; those facial muscles should be worked and present even a little smile. I'm not suggesting you scream or dance (though why not?), but at least, smile; show conviction! Such good voices utilised so disappointingly. Think Psalm 150. The simple task of a choir is to inspire and help worshippers link into their spiritual realm; not looking as if you didn't want to be there. Sorry, I'm just livid because I love hymns and using them in worship should arouse a joy and reassurance of faith even in times of sadness.

Hymns and spiritual songs are not for entertainment that appeal to man's emotion, but sacred songs that to align the soul with the heavenly realm, therefore they ought to be sung with solemnity.

Hymns and spiritual songs are not for entertainment that appeal to man's emotion, but sacred songs that to align the soul with the heavenly realm, therefore they ought to be sung with solemnity.
This is the worst congregational singing I've heard for a long time. Sing it like you believe it!
