  • Audinate Dante is one of the most powerful and flexible network protocols for audio production. You can find Dante in every corner of the audio industry: recording studios, live events, churches, etc. In this video, Jim Slick (from Slick Audio) is sharing his expertise and experience about Dante and how it stands apart from other audio network protocols.

    Dante is arguably one of the most practical and innovative ways of "jamming" lot's of audio data and tranfering into one Ethernet cable.

    I certified in 2020 for Dante Level 1. Training for level 2 now, my application is for live sound. Makes networking really easy once you understand it.

      I agree, Keame SHA! The Dante training is a great way to learn some of the essential networking concepts (which every audio engineer should know).

    "What is Dante?" It's an indicator that your device will be Backordered until 2023.

    This channel teaches me more about audio recording than all the others combined. The only other channel that comes close is "Mr. B in the Studio".

    Can I use dante network with an analog mixing console. And how do I do it?

    • @AudioUniversity
      @AudioUniversity  2 роки тому

      You will need a Dante network interface like the stage boxes we discussed in the video. This will convert analog to Dante and back.

    umm, can you suggest me some cool DAW's for a beginner you would say? (Free one's because i am just getting started and if you think theres a good daw which needs money to pay but has some really cool features and a beginner can use, i would love to hear one!)

      If you just need to do simple editing, Audacity is free.
      If you want to learn to mix and create music, I would recommend starting with Reaper.

      @@AudioUniversity umm actually i want to mix and create music, and also i don't have piano or drums at home, so i will also need a virtual midi keyboard in that, so will reaper work for me?

    • @AudioUniversity
      @AudioUniversity  2 роки тому

      Yes, Arjun. Reaper is great for music creation. It has a MIDI editor, but I would definitely recommend at least a simple MIDI controller.
