If you live near a Rural King, you can get a 51lb bag of sprayable 20-0-0 for $16. Be careful when spraying AMS. Make sure you can water it in very quickly or only spoonfeed it. This fertilizer is only good if you want to lower pH. If you already have acidic soil, then you shouldn't use this. The primary reason it greened up George's lawn better than Urea in the other video was probably because of the sulfur, not the Nitrogen, because he has high pH soil. So if you already have high Sulfur and/or low pH soil, stick with Urea.

Fertilizers like this make you really think on whether you need to be spending extra on timed release fertilizers from Lesco or Andersons or Country Club. I noticed that those brands are starting to do what Scotts has been doing and basically cramming more products into the single 40 pound bag, making the over bag less effective unless you are spreading heavier.

My biggest complaint about the Sta Green fert is the prill size. The prills are so large that is wont allow my scotts rotary spreader to always close properly on a lower spread rate setting as they tend to jam the closing mech. Smaller prill size please!

I'm scared to death because it's closing in on my 6 or 7th attempt to re-grow my lawn since last year. I can't even get into how much time, money and brutal hard work I've done to try my hardest to get my yard looking like anything but the abandoned lot it looked like. I've done everything by the book, I used the supposed best products and my yard looks utterly heartbreaking!!! I used Jonathan Green Black-Beauty Ultra seeds and lemme tell ya, I wouldn't recommend it because a large percentage of the seeds didn't even germinate and most of what did grow was immediately fried as soon as the summer came this year!!! My God, some grass on the side of highways that nobody even cares for looks incredibly better than my yard😢

Lots of things to say here. I've had GREAT results with AMS. I buy mine at the local feed store because of the service and prices (more people should do this!), but the $25 Lowe's price sounds great. You didn't mention that it is WATER SOLUABLE, which is huge. Use the rule of FOUR: mix 4 lbs. in 4 gallons and spray it on AT LEAST 4 k ft2, and you're good to go. It's not an all-purpose fert; you need to be doing other things too -- I substitute a much more expensive water-soluable 20-20-20 (also from feed store) once in a while, esp. when putting down seed. Cheaper than DEF. Watching UA-cam without Premium is painful; get the subscription, drop Spotify.

We're getting into the fall now so many lawns will be going dormant before long, at least my warm season grass (Bermuda) will, so isn't it better to get a more 'balanced' fertilizer like 10-10-10 to encourage root development for the winter sleep?

For the fall I was thinking of continuing along the same lines.
