2025 Yamaha MT09 Automatic Y-AMT

This video is all about the new Automated Manual Transmission system from Yamaha.
An automatic or manual clutchless paddle system on the left handlebar cluster which allows you to ride the motorcycle in a non conventional way with the use of your finger and thumb to select your gears when in "MT" Manual Mode without having a foot gear change fitted on the bike.
Or the rider can simply sit back and relax after selecting the "AM" Automatic Mode which allows the bike to be fully automatic with no need to operate the paddle system.
This automatic mode also allows for two seperate drive modes D or D+. In the D+ mode this offers a more sportier gear shift which occurs later on in the rev range.
The bike has a switch on the right handlebar cluster which allows the bikes ECU to change from either automatic "AT" mode or "MT" manual mode by the rider simply pushing the button and selecting their preference.

I need a clutch, I don’t mind having an automatic bike, but I need a clutch for those hairy moments. Honda’s E-Clutch wins for me

Hi thanks for watching and commenting. I take your point but please give it a try and get a feel what it's like. If your a Subscriber to my Channel you'll have seen me ride both the new Honda E clutch CBR650R & also the new BMW R1300GS ASA automatic system.
It's all about opinions and what suits you best.
