I have twin cousins were born three months premature. They are both blind (thanks in part to the oxygen tanks they were put into), and are now full grown adults. One can even play the guitar. They are amazing young men.
What year were they born? In the 80s they did not know about retinopathy of prematurety. Today they can do lazer eye surgery which my daughter had born 3 months early along with her twin correct.
I myself used to hold this view as well until I read about this. My mind was changed as well. Much of what pro-aborts say at this point is complete sophistry, I've realized, once you get into the details.
I really appreciate this information being shared. I have heard it from other doctors and ob/gyns as well. I like how she points out that even preterm babies who cannot be allowed to complete the pregnancy due to the health of the mother can still be delivered and honored in their passing, just like one would honor the passing of a family member who cannot survive off of life support and won't recover. No need to dismember it and throw it away. I think it is good to distinguish between abortion methods and pre-term delivery by calling them different names. One is vastly more compassionate and humane than the other .
Same for miscarriages, changing the terminology I mean. In many places they will label a miscarriage as an abortion, spontaneous abortion. If you retain the miscarriage (happened to me once) they offer you an abortion. Where I live it's called a medically assisted miscarriage which is a much more compassionate way of saying it. I have actually spoken to people who got divorced because she had a miscarriage but when her husband got the medical papers it said abortion.
My sister's twins were only 22 weeks when they were born weighing only 1 lb 14 ozs each. They're both healthy 15 year olds now. It's sad that on one floor of the hospital they're saving babies this small, yet on another floor they're murdering them 💔
My heart breaks for the moms who’ve had ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage treatment and are being told they should be mad about roe being overturned because they had life saving abortion
You do know that ectopic pregnancy is not viable right? If it’s allowed to continue it will kill the mother. They even say that in this pseudo-medical propaganda. They are basically saying: abortion isn’t an abortion when it’s used to save lives and prevent the suffering od women and her newborn. They are trying to redefine the term “abortion” by trying to separate it from valid medical procedures that are essentially abortions. A miscarriage is a spontaneous abortion. If it wasn’t medically necessary, it wouldn’t happen. The fetus couldn’t even sustain life inside the womb and died. Miscarriages happen even in late term. Due to anti abortion laws, women are being forced to carry dead fetuses to term and deliver dead babies. This neonatologist knows miscarriages are diagnosed and coded in the ICD-10 as “spontaneous abortions.” This video is trojan horse. It attempts to redefine the word “abortion” to distinguish it from the surgical or chemical abortions that occur to save women’s lives in cases of ectopic pregnancy, treatment with teratogenic medicine like chemotherapy, premature labor, severe gestational diabetes, and etc. Do you know it puts you at risk for sepsis and death when your water breaks and the fetus is nonviable? If the fetus is floating around in a womb that is slowly leaking water or lacking in amniotic fluid, it may take weeks or days to die inside you. Because of anti abortion laws, it doesn’t matter that the fetus will certainly die and you are at risk of dying with it, as long as it has a heartbeat the doctors cannot remove the fetus. The treatment for early dilation or premature breaking of amniotic sac is surgical removal (ABORTION) because you want to remove the fetus before it is dead and festering. Right now, all of these heartbeat bills prevent euthanasia of the nonviable fetus. This means it is meant to float around and die slowly while the mother is at increased risk of death by infection. The sterile compartment of her womb is open and full of nutrients for bacteria to feast upon. The fetus itself can become a rotting, festering mass before its heart stops beating and it kills the woman with septic shock. A heartbeat means nothing except that a fetus is living tissue. It doesn’t make the fetus a person with protected legal status. A heartbeat means nothing when you have no brain or sentience. Like putting a piece of beating heart inside a Petri dish or body of a puppet. A fetus with a beating heart doesn’t become capable of thoughts or feelings until 22weeks. That is how long it takes until the cerebral cortex forms. A human being on a machine ventilator has more rights than a fetus because they are a fully formed person. They have a brain capable of thought and feeling. A fetus develops a heart and kidneys and liver, but it takes time to develop the part of the brain that gives it a personality/consciousness/sentience. Before 22weeks a fetus is like an empty doll growing inside another person. It doesn’t have personhood. It shouldn’t have more rights than the body that is growing the fetus. Antiabortion heartbeat bills are inhumane. A heart can beat outside a human body for a time, but it doesn’t make that heart a person. A soul is not located in your heart anymore than it is located in your bladder or liver. The heart is a pump. It is a sign of life but not a sign of sentience. The organ that makes you a person is your brain. What pro-life people want is not mercy. It is suffering. A fetus without ability to think or perceive feelings, is basically a part of your body like any other organ or systems. Under current antiabortion law, women are forced to carry fetuses with life-limiting diseases to term so that they can be born only to die shortly thereafter. A fetus with life limiting disease can be “protected” until they develop enough to be delivered via C section or through vaginal delivery. All so that it can die outside of the womb Look up life-limiting genetic diseases. The babies resulting from chromosomal deletions and genetic diseases sometimes appear inhuman they are so mal-formed. They often live minutes or hours, sometimes days, but typically die within a month. Also, the Preterm or full-term delivery of a fetus that is nonviable is essentially an abortion, but in the most cruel form. Because of anti abortion legislation women are forced to carry a fetus to term knowing it will not survive outside of the womb or that its life will be miserably painful/shor Medical abortions can be spontaneous or achieved through surgical/chemical means. And they are performed after euthanizing a fetus or upon fetuses that have not yet developed consciousness/ability to think or feel or form memories. What pro-life supporters don’t realize (or maybe they do) is that they are forcing the fetus with life limiting disease to stay alive long enough to develop consciousness only to let it be born with the capacity to suffer horribly for its short life. A fetus with life limiting disease that will be unable to live for more than a few hours or days after delivery could either be terminated BEFORE it grows enough of a brain to perceive feelings and sensations, or you can allow it to develop and grow long enough to be capable of consciousness and then allow it a slow death. This is to say nothing of the trauma mothers experience having to watch their infant die. Sometimes it’s traumatic for mothers even seeing what chromosomal deformities have done to their baby. Anti abortion laws stop mothers from having a choice or say in the matter when their lives are in the line. If I had a pregnancy with life-limiting disease I would want the fetus euthanized and aborted before delivering it to a very short life of cruelty and suffering. But I wouldn’t even have that option because of pro-life legislation. At the end of the day, a heart is merely a pump. The thing that makes you a person and gives you personhood is not a beating heart. Heart tissue beats in a Petri dish without even needing connected to organs or tissue. Having a heart transplant doesn’t turn you into a different person. Having a beating heart only means something when you have the rest of the body to go with it. And your brain which gives you your personality and consciousness doesn’t begin to develop or experience consciousness until the fetus becomes viable. . This neonatologist talks about preterm labor so that “preborn babies” can be delivered. Preterm labor can be a death sentence just as much as any abortion. But it is fucked up and tragic we would force a woman to go through labor or cesarean (with a high rate of complications) just to be sure the fetus dies as a newborn “baby” rather than as a fetus. If the fetus cannot live outside the womb (as in the case of some chromosomal deletions) it will die no matter what. A miscarriage caused by chemotherapy or radiation treatment means the mother’s life was purposefully chosen over the fetus. We don’t treat pregnant women with medicine that causes miscarriage but if we did, it would be with the understanding of all involved that the fetus will be aborted. And so for those circumstances the abortion or “ending of the preterm fetus” absolutely is necessary for the mother to live.
Miscarriage is not an abortion. It’s called that in “scientific” terms but the method is different as the child has already died. A d&c is done to remove baby. But no medication or anything is intentionally killing the baby. The baby is just removed when the body cannot get rid of it. Also, Not all miscarriages result in D&C. Most times The body gives birth and removes the baby naturally.
Yes, i personally wish fellow pro lifers would argue outside of their religion too, there is a consistant argument without religion and it reaches the other side more
@@donniebrasco11 There are a LOT of pro-lifers (many are still Christians, but some are atheists, agnostic, etc.) that intentionally argue the scientific and Norwalk points without bringing religion into it. You probably just haven't come across many of them, but it's a very large chunk of us. Like, I'm very much a Christian, but that had absolutely nothing to do with the core reasons I'm pro-life, and I make sure to leave religion or if the conversation because I think scientific and moral arguments are more convincing for most people. And abortion is wrong regardless of religion.
@@zzevonplant I'm aware, I'm one of them. I'm a very active pro lifer, and have no religious views. I see a lot of what we say to abortion enthusiasts, for example on live actions Facebook page, you will see a lot of christians, or religious people in general in the comments, on youtube as well. While I will never disown my fellow pro lifers simply because the reasons they are pro life, I just wish they'd take it a step further and find the science behind why it is also wrong even if God is uninvolved. Partly because the other side cannot dispute facts and logic, and because I'm too often having to denounce religious views before talking to these people, because they assume off the bat that pro lifers must be religious so our argument is faulty
It’s sickening. Yet I think everyone on the pro choice side should watch it. If this society is willing to teach our children sex in school at young ages no less, then they should know exactly what an abortion procedure does and how it’s performed.
And that's a quite sanitised version of what happens. Imagine how it looks in real live. The baby probably doesn't die instantly when it's leg is torn off. 💔
I remember when I delivered my first child, who is my only preemie. An African doctor just so happened to mention something about abortion and he said terminating the pregnancy does not mean an abortion. If you deliver the child, you terminate the pregnancy. That was the first time I heard that phrase associated with a live birth.
@@katenoke1571 There are many doctors from Africa that come here to the states. I had one for a teacher, it was hard to understand their accent, but they were well-educated.
@@katenoke1571Do you know that African is not a race? There are not just black Africans. There are large groups of people in Africa that are white as well as Middle Eastern. The countries of Morocco and Egypt, which are both in Africa, look more like the Middle East in terms of people's physical appearance and the culture. There can also be different medical practices in different countries and cultures. Medical professionals are taught differently in different parts of the world. Try comparing American and Chinese medicine, for example. Saying that the doctor was African could very well be referring to these differences in medical practices, not just skin color. Putting the best possible construction on things is a helpful life skill that reduces conflict and stress. Making assumptions about people you don't even know can cause unnecessary conflict and stress. I have found the best possible construction to be positive in my life and my interactions with others.
Well put! I just left a comment under someone who thinks the cancer/chemo situation justifies all other abortions. This video helps smooth out why that’s so demonstrably false.
I appreciate the perspective in this video of a medical doctor who shares how there are ways to treat mother and child, not to mention how the child can survive a preterm birth.
@Bullet Anarchy These videos are from teams of people who used to perform abortions. They're not just some extreme caricature of pro-life people. ua-cam.com/video/eR1Ut4BPbOw/v-deo.html
@Bullet Anarchy Sorry I added a video of a 2nd trimester one. This is a past abortionist explaining a third trimester one. ua-cam.com/video/aBIhez7C1dM/v-deo.html
@Bullet Anarchy Well, Dr. Kendra Kolb *is* a medical doctor, specializing in neonatology, a subset of obstetrics. I'm pretty sure that abortion is part of the training. And yeah, the animation for the Dilation & Extraction is rather abstracted, but that's because the pro-life movement has in general moved away from the really graphic stuff, like the photos of aborted humans hosted at Priests for Life, both by dilation and extraction, and by dilation and curettage.
@Bullet Anarchy I guess you missed the testimony of a former abortion doctor to congress that stated that that's exactly how a third trimester abortion is performed. You just don't like the truth of it.
@@litigioussociety4249 I've already seen some "advertisements" for artificial wombs, but I don't like the idea of it as I can see it being abused by Fertility Clinics. Turn children into a product to be obtained rather than recognize them for the gifts they are.
@@laXrockera691 it could also potentially save the lives of premie babies and give them an optimum place to continue growing until they are strong enough to go home
When an ectopic pregnancy implants, it's only a few cells and undetectable. By the time an ectopic pregnancy is detected, it's usually causing pain and distress to the mother, about to burst the tube, cause a hemorrhage, etc. Any procedure designed to save both the mother and the baby would have to excise the embryo and the surrounding lining it implanted on, and immediately transfer it to a friendlier environment, where it still would not implant properly as it's already past the stage at which it's genetically programmed to implant. Even trying to graft the piece of lining it's connected to would be problematic, as it would take too long to heal and become part of the new site, during which time the embryo would starve. Currently, medical science is not at the stage where it can do more than remove the embryo and let it die, and it does not look promising that they will ever try to develop such procedures, in part because of the risks to the mother in excising the lining or trying to re-implant, but primarily because the medical industry does not consider the embryo a person, and as such has no interest in pursuing them. An ectopic pregnancy will kill the mother, and the preborn baby along with her, so removal is sadly the only option. In the video, she says this is not considered an abortion, but doesn't go into much detail why. Perhaps it's because the baby is already on a course where it will die, so the only goal of the procedure is to not let the mother be taken along with the doomed baby, but to save her at least. But removal of the ectopic pregnancy is definitely killing the baby to save the life of the mother, whatever the semantics.
@@JusBidniss I think of it akin to a miscarriage. A tragedy where a woman loses her baby to circumstances beyond her control. I wish the medical community would spend time and energy on finding a way to save these babies instead of pumping millions into the death/abortion industry
Most ectopic pregnancies occur due to the use of Plan B. (Up to 50%). Chalk up another iatrogenic medical emergency due to a bogus “need” for “emergency contraception” pitched squarely at teenagers and women without doctors who engage in risky sex or who are victims of sex trafficking or abuse. The feminist complicity in society’s woes just never ends....
Thank you! As a Muslim, I believe as most Muslim's do that abortion is absolutely forbidden, EXCEPT in the case that it preserves the life of the mother. I'm now educated in the fact that medical care that saves a mother's life is NOT the same as abortion, even if the life of the baby is lost.
The pro-choice propaganda machine has used many tragic cases to lobby for abortion “rights,” when in fact the medical issue at hand is not an elective abortion. Satan loves confusion and fear.
Holy cow this is amazing! I've always considered myself pro-life :-) but this was one issue that I would kind of flex on, but after hearing this information I no longer think medical reasons are an excuse for an abortion. Thank you so much for opening my eyes
Same with me, was a common excuse to go soft with friends and family, just to not OFFEND someone else not too much! But facts are facts! Thx for video!
Thank you for this beautiful explanation. I had an ectopic pregnancy, and I've tried explaining this to people making the "health of the mother" argument for abortion, which is really just a strawman argument.
I’m sorry you had to go through that, I had a friend in Texas (where they have strict abortion laws) went through one recently and got care right away with zero issues even though the left makes it seem like abortion laws inhibit doctors from saving the mother in these instances. The chokehold they have on so many is wild
Hopefully also the stage of adult human beings. Because oftentimes people care only about their family and friends and not really about people in need outside their bubble like e. g. orphans, homeless people or poor people in general. There is so much suffering on this planet, yet most people have nothing better to do than to bring a new life with lots of own needs into this world. I'm against late-term abortions, but I'm also against begetting children.
@@Dragumix the solution to homelessness, poverty, and orphaned children is not to avoid having children. It is to do our best to help people when we see they have a need. If everybody stopped having children today that wouldn't solve homelessness or force people to adopt children. We can have children and still adopt children, feed and house the poor, etc. Jesus teaches us to love our neighbors as ourselves. That is the key to solving these issues. Please accept Christ and embrace a mentality that supports life.
My mother had pre-eclampsia when she was pregnant with me. I was delivered at 7 months, weighed 2 and a half pounds at birth. I thank God that my mother chose LIFE for me.
A family member on my daughter in law's side just gave birth early, too, because of this condition...both mama and baby are fine. I'm glad your mother gave you life, too!
I Absolutely love this video & think that both women & men should see & be educated on this topic! As an activist I get this comment so many times “Well what if it’s medically necessary?” And often tell them even if the mother has complications the doctor doesn’t need to intentionally go in to kill the child to save her life! They can both save the mother plus the baby!
How am now just seeing this? I’m seeing comments from 5 years ago. This information was powerful, compelling and reinforced my position and being pro life and gives me a way to speak to my position. Thank you for all you do
Amen and thank you for speaking!!! These babies are precious, I know someone who had both her daughters early due to medical complications, one was born at 34wks and survived, today she is a healthy 1yo and her other daughter will be turning 2 next month!!!
RedRoseSeptember22 A friend of mine delivered the smallest, most premature baby in the Mid-Atlantic in 1987. Under 1 lb. He’s a healthy 6’1” man now. The current record (July 2019) is from Japan-delivered at 19 weeks. Well within the 2nd trimester. Since human heartbeats are detected at 13-18 DAYS now, the time when the tiny person already has fingernails and can sneeze, how will the abortion lobby deflect reality? By continuing to say it doesn’t matter how human the unborn child is. The feminist agenda demands that women must be monsters, capable of killing their own offspring. (Something that makes us recoil when we see a spider do it.) The ultimate insult is to say that having a baby is SO OVERWHELMINGLY HORRIBLE that a woman is utterly incapable of managing it. It’s so impossible that it’s better that she kill her child because she’s too dumb/fragile to adjust?? Really? Our mothers did manage and usually without “planning” but we’re incapable??
I am 18 weeks pregnant and just signed a form that i understand the risks of continuing the pregnancy. The amnionic sac has a tear which might result in infection that would lead to sepsis for me (this risk was quantified as up to 5%). Continuing a pregnancy is not perfectly safe for me, but I cannot imagine killing my child. But saying that continuing a high risk pregnancy does not threaten the life of the mother is a bad faith argument.
I was always pro life but abortions done when pregnancies pose health risks for the mother was a grey area for me but after watching this video my belief that abortions are always wrong was strengthened.
Mothers life, and rape. I don't really get the incest one, since two sickos chose to do something...but with rape, I can't argue about taken away the choice of the victim. It's nice if they choose to keep the child, but they don't have to in my book. You can't be going about your way, and trying to do your best and someone forces violence on you and gets to force pregnancy and having a child that you never bargained for. It's unfortunate, but choice in rape and young minors also shouldn't be forced to give birth either. Typically, those are rapes too.
Thank you for this video, it was really informative for some of the tougher and more complex issues on this topic which were answered. Very grateful to have seen this.
It’s a very sad thing that people choose to do but if they feel they have a good enough reason too then is it really wrong of them? Like if they can’t take care of the child and wouldn’t be able to give it up for adoption it’s better than giving the child a mentally unstable home
Are you kidding? There are people that practically worship their right to abortion. They are so hell bent on being allowed to legally kill the unborn. So if I feel like my 8 year old isn't having a good quality of life because of our financial status and I'm not able to provide for her the way she deserves, I should be allowed to kill her? Nah, that doesn't fly. What would stop someone from seeking adoptive parents? Laziness? You're pregnant for 9 months, you have time to do some serious searching if you're dedicated to it. There's a lot of crisis pregnancy centers that would guide you to the right resources, and in the age of the internet, there really isn't an excuse for putting it off. Oh, and planned parenthood doesn't help with that despite the claim that they do, a lot of phone calls have proven that they only do abortions.
Cody & Brooke Hanson so people shouldn’t be able to have a choice? Yes some mistreat abortions but that’s the governments fault for not limiting them enough. A lot of people use it because they don’t have the money to even afford to give birth and they couldn’t bare to give their child away. Others can’t afford to stay off work for a few months even if they are giving up their child. Yes it is an incredibly sad thing but isn’t it better that children aren’t being raised so badly that they won’t want to even be alive?
@@Mo_msh so we're just going to assume someone doesn't want to live? How about this. When my mother was 17 she was part of a travelling carnival. She was with a guy, she got pregnant, dropped out of the carnival and had an abortion. Then at the age of 19 she married my dad, got pregnant with me and almost aborted me (they were addicted to drugs and didn't live a good lifestyle). Instead, they decided to keep me and turn their lives around. She stayed off drugs while pregnant, but my dad didn't, so after I was born my mom fell back into drugs for a short period. One day, while high, she said she looked at me and felt such an intense sense of guilt that she was able to quit and never pick them up again. My dad, switched to doing them behind her back while he was sleeping around with other people. They went on to have 4 more kids, we were poor, my dad was still doing drugs at the construction yards he worked at and sleeping around. When my mom finally couldn't take his behavior anymore they divorced. My mom raised us 5 kids on a $14k salary as an attorney's secretary, we could barely afford food and my mom heavily depended upon others, including me. Especially me during our random visits with my dad where we were exposed to drugs, child molesters, and the many women he went back and forth between. I've been sexually assaulted, had to testify in court against my father and have him call me a liar for the drugs I found in his home and dangerous conditions we lived in while with him. Finally my dad allowed my step dad to adopt us and we didn't see him until we were adults. I'm now 27, have 3 kids of my own and will be married for 9 years next month. I'm happy my mom chose life for me despite the rough life I've had. We cannot assume that it would be what the baby would want, that if the baby had a rough life that they would prefer not being alive. There are plenty of testimonies from people, including people with disabilities, that say they love life and that abortion is never the compassionate answer. Again, despite another pro choice lie.
The idea of abortions being medically necessary to save the mother has always bothered me as an extremely complicated and messed up version of the Trolley Problem. This video helped me answer this Trolley Problem in a way I'm comfortable with: it's a lie And that animation of the baby being ripped apart like that, and knowing that it can feel and think like a baby that's been born, it made me feel so sick to the stomach. The idea that that's going on INSIDE women who have abortions... If mothers knew this is what they did, I think most of them would change their mind. Or at least I hope so.
My wife and her twin sister was conceived when my mother-in-law had cancer. Doctors told her to abort her babies, but she chose not to. She gave birth to them and was subsequently healed.
Those poor children. They are defenceless, without anyone to care for them. They are at the mercy of the carrier and the surgeon. And they are told that they have no right to live.
Excellent information. These insightful videos can destroy the argument of those who support Abortion. The videos should be widespread to create consciousness as they have the power and punch to change people's minds 180 degress.

What about someone pregnant at say 15 weeks that says the baby has to be aborted due to the health of the mother who has cancer? You can't do a preterm delivery at that stage correct?
You wouldn't do preterm delivery at that age, but abortion would not be necessary either. Some treatments for cancer have been found to be safe in the second and third trimesters. So in many situations, the mother can undergo treatment while pregnant. In other situations, the doctors may decide to wait until after delivery to begin treatment. During the first trimester, (4-13 weeks), cancer treatment poses a risk to the baby. But that is not the same thing as abortion. If the mother undergoes treatment during the second trimester that poses a risk to the baby, that's not the same thing as abortion. Here is some more information: www.cancer.net/navigating-cancer-care/dating-sex-and-reproduction/cancer-during-pregnancy
Isaiahs Mom if you aren’t taking those precautions because you didn’t know you were pregnant then the baby is at high risk if it is already not harmed unfortunately
It is explained in the video, the mother will receive the chemotherapy she needs without aborting her baby. The baby will probably die from the effects of the chemo and then be removed, but that is not an abortion because killing them wasn’t the intention of the chemotherapy.
But what if the woman is in the first trimester and has cervical cancer? Don't you need to terminate the pregnancy? Chemotherapy doesn't always work. Also, I don't know why 3rd trimester abortions are practiced in the USA. Here in Europe, they are not practiced in most of the States and no woman has died because of that.
Although there are some treatments that pose a risk to the baby during all trimesters, it has been found that some treatments for cancer are not harmful to the baby when the treatment starts in the second trimester. That's why in the US, one approach is to simply wait a few weeks until the second trimester to begin treatment. For example, if a woman discovers at 6 weeks that she is pregnant, and then discovers she has cancer, her doctors might advise her to wait until 14 weeks to begin treatment. If the woman absolutely must begin treatment during the first trimester, then the medication will put her baby at risk. But that is not the same thing as abortion. Here is some more information: www.cancer.net/navigating-cancer-care/dating-sex-and-reproduction/cancer-during-pregnancy.
When I was pregnant, it was like I was cut off from most medicine. There's really a lack of research for most medicine on pregnant women that everything is considered a liability. That's why over the counter drugs say consult a physician. That puts the liability on the physician's hands if they decide to give you something that is under researched.
This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live Deuteronomy 30:19
Very rarely does a cancer diagnosis kill within months or weeks. It happens, but to say that cancer means to slaughter your child bc you need treatment NOW is absurd.
The fact is abortion is termination of a pregnancy regardless of whether pregnancy is ecoptic or not. This video is miscalssifying a medical procedure as an argument to be against “elective” abortion.
She’s speaking for both terms of abortions. Elective abortion and what people consider to be “medically”necessary abortions. But she mostly speaks about how there is never a case where you need to intentionally kill a baby in utero because it’s medically necessary. And no, this is not inflammatory. Abortion just means the end of a pregnancy, it’s a broad term and I think the terminology needs to be fixed or more specified; example miscarriages are considered to be natural abortions.
Or maybe the reason these procedures have been put under the "abortion" umbrella is so they can be taken hostage and used to defend elective abortion. Otherwise, why not just use less polarizing terminology?
Hello! Would an impending miscarriage and possible sepsis be an issue for the life and health of the mother? That’s the argument I hear most often. Some women get sick if the water breaks and the baby is still alive. They’re saying doctors won’t deliver until the woman is actually very sick. I honestly have been trying to find the counter argument to this
Doctors simply wait for you to miscarry, this is something that happens all the time. If you have part of the pregnacy left then they perform a D & C procedure. I had this happen. It took weeks before everything came out and baby was gone. Nobody even suggested that abortion procedure because it isn't necessary. The body expels everything on its own or doctor takes it out what didn't get pushed out. If baby is near term the mother will usually go into labor within 24 hours of water breaking. If this doesn't happen she will be induced and the child would be delivered. Depending on how far along they may or may not survive. If induction doesn't work it then it becomes a c-section. Abortion still requires the child to be born and the drugs they use are very painful. Normal delivery the contractions stop and start giving mom a break, but with the oxytocin it just keeps coming. This is extremely painful! Crushing the baby inside the mother and having those tools inside her can damage the uterus causing mom to bleed out or have an infection. Abortion is far more risky than birth or a c-section.
This was a very informative video, and I appreciate that, but I hate the fact that she repeatedly said "never". That is not something anyone is in the position to say. No one has exstensive knowledge on every high risk pregnancy that has been or will be, and therefore no one can say that every abortion that is carried out for medical reasons is unnecessary.
Provide a medical condition in which abortion is the only viable option available, and which premature pregnancy would result in a higher risk of death.
@@jackietate4047 I never said I had one in mind. I'm merely saying that nobody can say 'never' because no one knows about every high risk pregnancy that has been or will be.
@@abbyconway3259 so, are you admitting that you are not a medical expert, and that you also cannot provide a report by medical experts to support this claim, which contradicts the testimony of this medical expert? That would make your statement an unqualified opinion, which contradicts the qualified opinion of an experienced medical expert. Can you justify this position with a rational explanation? Or is it simply an intuition? (Sorry, I'm sure I sound trollish, but that is not my intention.)
@@jackietate4047 I again never said that I had a condition in mind or that I was a medical professional. I have made the 'rational argument' that nobody has seen every high risk pregnancy, be it in the past or future, multiple times. You do not have to be a medical professional to recognize that that feat is simply impposible. I support this woman's claim, I just wish that she didn't say 'never' so much because it is inaccurate. (And you didn't sound trollish, you were merely making an argument which is completely reasonable.)
I did not fully understand what you meant, so I have 2 questions: 1. In the case of "Some babies do need to be delivered before they are able to survive outside of the womb" that she menioned, would the babies be able to survive by any way if they were left in the womb without being delivered ? 2. In this same case, is it a full chance of the mother's death if the baby was kept ? in other words, is it literally a 100% case of "either the baby dies or the mother dies" ?
I just found a nurse friend of mine voted for our radical pro death governor BECAUSE she believes abortions are sometimes medically necessary. Why is this vital information withheld from the ongoing training of so many of our medical professionals?
I completely agree with this video. However, yesterday I was reading a post a woman had made about her having to get an abortion. She was 6 months pregnant and had just been diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary hypertension, and given 5 years to live. She said the doctors said an abortion was necessary or her and her baby would die within a few days. She also said the doctors said her heart was in too bad of shape to complete a C-section safely. Her post was genuine and I could tell she of course did not want to abort her baby, but it makes me wonder…is what the doctors told her true? Was there really no other way to save her baby and also save her? Nevertheless, I know this is a very tough situation to be in.
I’m sorry to hear about your experience, but I’m glad you and your son ended up being okay. Thank you for explaining the whole process, which makes sense. That’s why I was thinking it doesn’t make sense that she can’t make it through a c section, but she can make it through an abortion procedure, especially being so far along. And like you said, the abortion takes more than a day, whereas the c section is quick and you don’t have to be sedated. I’ve been reading about doctors that are refusing medical care and being negligent when it comes to situations like this because they think the abortion laws are prohibiting them for providing care, but they’re not. It’s sad.
I have no doubt that a c- section would’ve been a tough situation and they just didn’t want to be liable for the death of the mother. They absolutely could have performed that C-section because the baby would’ve survived if it was six months. Abortion wasn’t needed here, the doctor(s) said that to protect themselves from a liability/ lawsuit. It happens a lot and doctors lie contrary to what people think. We are all humans, they are not the high golden standard and some doctors will prove this to you. I sincerely hope that won’t happen to anyone and I feel for all who have been lied to by a medical professional they put all their hope and trust to, but that doesn’t dissolve the fact that it will happen.
Plus I bet you if the mother said she didn’t want to have an abortion and wanted to have a C-section they would’ve simply said no as well as referred her to somewhere else without Zero care because they did not want to be held accountable. Again, not because it’s an ‘impossible situation’ that would’ve have worked. But because it’s a hard position for them to put themselves in.
Some mothers did opt to put cancer treatment on hold and even though the babies were born, a lot of said motheds paid a terrible price for doing so. I don't recommend prolonging treatment. While it's selfless and perhaps admirable, it's also very dangerous
Dr. Kolb, You are pushing your emotional beliefs upon those who do not share those beliefs. In plain logical terms, you don't own another person, nor can a developing baby own its mother. There are in fact cases such as ectopic pregnancies, preeclampsia, and others which necessitate emergency abortion to save the mother. No matter how delivery is accomplished, if the fetus is non-viable, the delivery is an abortion. In a very prominent case in Ireland, a mother with an ectopic pregnancy was forced to suffer an agonizing death to satisfy the same kind of religious superstition you exhibit here. As a result, mostly Catholic Ireland changed its abortion laws to take religious leaders out of abortion decisions where the mother's life is clearly in jeopardy. You are right that if a fetus is viable, it should be delivered and saved with medical intervention if necessary. However, should be and have to be are two very different things. Abortion is a medical choice. The mostly religious anti-choice movement still has yet to prove on purely logical grounds that abortion should be banned or restricted to the extent that the anti-choice side would like to see done. In regards to your other claims, Dr. Kolb, if you can't keep religion out of your medical decisions, either restrict your practice only to those who share your faith, or don't practice medicine. Religion by definition is backwards, primitive, and superstitious. If we allow religion to once again dictate to our STEM professionals the way it did to such greats as Galileo, we will end up taking a huge step backwards. Medicine is among the most intricate and urgent of STEM professions. Religion has no more place in medicine than it does at Fermilab, CERN, or in school science classes.
Preeclampsia does NOT mean the baby needs to be aborted. My mom had preeclampsia while pregnant with me and after the delivery she returned to good health and I was born healthy. Some other medical conditions may be different but definitely not needed to kill the baby for preeclampsia
@@kathyalex778 , I do believe that I covered your case in the second paragraph of my above comment which describes those pregnancies which are viable. The choice still must rest with the mother as she has total ownership of herself and has no obligation to share herself with anyone for any reason.
It is never medically necessary to intentionally kill the baby in the womb is what she showed and is true. And no, in a Catholic hospital in the case of ectopic pregnancy a doctor can and SHOULD perform a salpingectomy to save the mothers life without intending to kill the baby.
Live Action does such amazing work!!! Thank you Dr. Kolb for explaining how abortion is never medically necessary. I wish every delivery doctor and OBGYN was like you!!
We did have a baby from 23 weeks and 6 days and he is now doing very well. He is one year 7 months he is almost working. The physiotherapy say they have not seen anyone as good as he. So we thank God in Jesus name. Doctors did scare us saying that it's almost no chance that he will survive and then if he's arrived he will have problems
Very good explanations in this video. I would like to make a note, from my studies on religion, the Catholic church considers abortion to terminate an ectopic pregnancy.According to explanations, the right thing to do is to let the bleeding begin and then try to save the mother's life.
This is amazing information that I have never heard before! Thank you so much for explaining this! And now I have a resource to be able to share with others!
Most obstetricians don't agree. The medical term for terminating an ectopic pregnancy is "abortion", whether you like it or not. When the fetus must come out for the sake of the mother's life, the term applies no matter the method. The dismemberment technique uses an injection to stop the heart of the fetus, so they are dead beforehand. In cases where the fetus isn't developed enough to feel pain, they don't use the injection. This method is much easier on the mother than delivery or Caesarean section. BTW, it is CRUEL to expect a woman to go through major surgery (C-Section) just to deliver an intact fetal body.
This is just not true, in some cases the mothers life may be at risk because of severe infections, heart failure and severe cases of preeclampsia, a condition in which a woman develops very high blood pressure and is at risk for stroke. These conditions cause the mother to not be stable enough to carry a baby and can occur too early in the pregnancy for early delivery.
Most moms wait to get chemo and some chemo doesn't effect the baby. It depends on the situation. If the drugs kill the baby then that is a sad side effect and the mother's choice to risk their child's life. But let's be honest, I don't know any mother who wouldn't wait a few weeks and deliver early.
@roral8419 im totally against abortion except for rape, incest, and and the mothers life, I just think propaganda videos like this saying that risking the babies life is never necessary is ridiculous. Yes it would be the mother's choice to terminate the pregnancy, however I think if it can give you a fighting chance against cancer or anything else you should take it.
@shortstarwarsessays1842 The distinction the video is trying to make is that there is a difference between risking injury or miscarriage and guaranteed death of a fetus. At least give the child a chance at survival. You don't have to kill them every time.
the principle of double effect. What does chemo attack? Cancer. It is not a direct killing of the baby. The abortion pill and surgical abortions like D and c or D and E are direct killings of the child. Getting chemo while pregnant is morally permissible since it is not a direct killing. This is what the principle of double effect is. You do a morally good thing (getting chemo to stop cancer) and by doing that morally good thing you may have an unintended ill side effect (the death of the baby)
@@yugb104 Yes exactly, methotrexate used to be used in abortion pills and is in chemo. What I'm saying is by taking chemo you are essentially getting an abortion. I'm saying it's not a morally bad thing to do if it's to save the mother's life.
The health of the person carrying should be top concern until 21 weeks consciousness has not been established in a fetus (I use that word to differentiate a baby inside and outside the womb) so before 21 weeks there is not a life yet meaning your not ending a life you’re merely preventing a life from coming into existence.

The fact that you can't argue against this video in any way other than "It was an ad so it's invariably bad" just proves how you're the sheep here. Your side consistently does things in every way other than "word of mouth". You're just trying to shut down the opposing sides options by saying that. I was 16 when I commented this, but I still stand by that you can believe what you want, but forcing it on others by labeling it "murder" is objectively wrong. I'm not gonna budge on my beliefs, especially when I know that pregnancy would only result in me taking myself to an early grave to escape the nightmare.
I was born preterm by a month because my mom got really sick and had to give birth early. I am perfectly healthy. Abortions, in my opinion, and not worth it no matter what.
question- why would'nt doctors suggest patients to do this if it was possible in every case. There are people who don't want to abort but have to because their life is in danger. Why isn't this option given?
Yes indeed. Obviously the chances are lower, but there is a possibility for sure. There are children who have survived it. The point is to maximize life as opposed to jumping straight into abortion which immediately strips away life and actually is worse for the mother.
No it's not you cannot implant a baby in a uterus . Stop giving misinformation whoever said it's possible. The fetus is not viable . Which is why it's not an abortion
@@fusionpunk1346 I don't think you're clear on what's being discussed. Obviously ectopic pregnancies are not abortion and they're not even fetuses, as they're usually discovered very early through technology, since they're usually so underdeveloped due to the nature of condition. There have been extremely rare cases where there is survival, but again, those are quite rare, so it truly is pedantic if anyone argued about it. Nobody is saying to reimplant anything into the uterus. That's just crazy. All I'm saying is the focus is life since pro-aborts try to use these types of very conditions to push their agenda. I think we all agree here.
@@DarthBalsamic that's the point though, unless you implanted it in the universe then an ectopic pregnancy cannot survive. I think being a molecular biologist, I should know that. What I'm saying is that whoever said ectopic pregnancies can go on even rarely is completely false. The absolutely cannot . So I think you misunderstood my point

This neonatologist knows miscarriages are diagnosed and coded in the ICD-10 as “spontaneous abortions.”
This video is trojan horse.
All so that it can die outside of the womb
Look up life-limiting genetic diseases.
Because of anti abortion legislation women are forced to carry a fetus to term knowing it will not survive outside of the womb or that its life will be miserably painful/shor
Medical abortions can be spontaneous or achieved through surgical/chemical means.

@Bullet Anarchy I guess you missed the testimony of a former abortion doctor to congress that stated that that's exactly how a third trimester abortion is performed. You just don't like the truth of it.
Will science ever be developed enough to transplant the baby in an ectopic pregnancy to the womb if caught on time?
Thank you! As a Muslim, I believe as most Muslim's do that abortion is absolutely forbidden, EXCEPT in the case that it preserves the life of the mother. I'm now educated in the fact that medical care that saves a mother's life is NOT the same as abortion, even if the life of the baby is lost.
I agree with this as a Christian@@breemystic
Muslims believe abortion is okay within the first four months of pregnancy, because your religion believes baby doesn’t have a soul yet until 4 months
In case you did not know.. ABORTION IS PERMISSABLE IN ISLAM with in 240 days.
The pro-choice propaganda machine has used many tragic cases to lobby for abortion “rights,” when in fact the medical issue at hand is not an elective abortion. Satan loves confusion and fear.
The point of this video is to say that there is never a time when you need to abort the baby to preserve the mother’s life.

Thank you so much for posting this video! What a great and thorough explanation of why abortion is never medically necessary.
May God restore in us the valuing of life at every stage 🙏🙏🏽🙏🏿🙏🏼

Please accept Christ and embrace a mentality that supports life.
There's never a good excuse for abortion.
Thanking someone for someone else saving you, do you think?
I Absolutely love this video & think that both women & men should see & be educated on this topic! As an activist I get this comment so many times “Well what if it’s medically necessary?” And often tell them even if the mother has complications the doctor doesn’t need to intentionally go in to kill the child to save her life! They can both save the mother plus the baby!
But being high risk preggers does not necessarily life threatening.. that’s a weird use of words huh.
@@rosezingleman5007 wow. From super small to really big! He's taller than me!
I am 18 weeks pregnant and just signed a form that i understand the risks of continuing the pregnancy. Continuing a pregnancy is not perfectly safe for me, but I cannot imagine killing my child. But saying that continuing a high risk pregnancy does not threaten the life of the mother is a bad faith argument.
Hi mama. So sorry to hear about this difficult scenario you were facing. How are you doing now?
I was always pro life but abortions done when pregnancies pose health risks for the mother was a grey area for me but after watching this video my belief that abortions are always wrong was strengthened.
That's because this didn't show examples where the baby is already dead or is already dying.
@@Euro.PatriotDo you realize that if the baby is dead/dying it's not an abortion right? That's a miscarriage.

Amazing! Such well formulated arguments against that schtick. Seriously, I don't know how abortion can be viewed in a positive light at all.
No one said it’s a positive thing
Thank you for sharing the truth! I'm sharing this on facebook now. God Bless everyone who fights for the right of every human being to live.

The idea of abortions being medically necessary to save the mother has always bothered me as an extremely complicated and messed up version of the Trolley Problem.
This video helped me answer this Trolley Problem in a way I'm comfortable with: it's a lie
And that animation of the baby being ripped apart like that, and knowing that it can feel and think like a baby that's been born, it made me feel so sick to the stomach.
This is wonderful example ❤

@@phootaphan9166 true

These videos are incredibly helpful. I have seen them change so many hearts and minds on abortion . Keep up the amazing work, Live Action!!
Amen!
I did not fully understand what you meant, so I have 2 questions:
Any health physician who claims an abortion is in the mothers best interest should lose their license.
Again, not because it’s an
‘impossible situation’ that would’ve have worked.
Thank you Live Action!
Dr. Kolb,
You are pushing your emotional beliefs upon those who do not share those beliefs.

Many of the people in the comments are not understanding what this video is actually about.
Nor do they want to
We did have a baby from 23 weeks and 6 days and he is now doing very well. He is one year 7 months he is almost working. The physiotherapy say they have not seen anyone as good as he. So we thank God in Jesus name.
Doctors did scare us saying that it's almost no chance that he will survive and then if he's arrived he will have problems
Absolute spot on! Too true, I would love you to be my midwife if I was pregnant. ❤
Question:
How is a removal of an ectopic pregnancy different from an abortion. I've always seen it as one. Thanks for the video!
Very good explanations in this video. I would like to make a note, from my studies on religion, the Catholic church considers abortion to terminate an ectopic pregnancy.According to explanations, the right thing to do is to let the bleeding begin and then try to save the mother's life.
This is untrue. The Catholic Church allows for proper treatment of an ectopic pregnancy.
This is amazing information that I have never heard before! Thank you so much for explaining this! And now I have a resource to be able to share with others!
This was very clarifying. 👍🇳🇴
But literally dismembering a baby by ripping it apart is loving and kind? Do you even hear yourself?
"Cruel"..... Are you siting Websters or are you redifing the definition?
This is just not true, in some cases the mothers life may be at risk because of severe infections, heart failure and severe cases of preeclampsia, a condition in which a woman develops very high blood pressure and is at risk for stroke. These conditions cause the mother to not be stable enough to carry a baby and can occur too early in the pregnancy for early delivery.

30,000 drs - abortion is never medically necessary
I think the video addresses some of these claims.
What if the mom gets cancer at month 4 and she needs chemo, how does the baby live through that. Ill be waiting for a response.
"not yet a life...." ???
So what you're saying then is that it's dead. Really?
You're giving yourself the authority to determine when a person is considered a person based on your own personal preference. No different than saying you have to be a certain skin color.
Your name explains it all. 😈
Beautiful ❤️
Thank you for this!!!
Why do y’all care about others baby’s or body anyways ? I’ve never had a abortion but I think it’s the mothers choice . Not yours , if you think abortion is wrong so be it , but don’t push that on other people . It’s wrong . I know that’s a human but also it’s their body’s and their choice and I will fight for women to be able to make that choice again . No more babies will be put in foster homes or orphanage cause y’all don’t want abortion I rather abortions while the child doesn’t have a mindset then for them have to live without their parents fully aware .
But babies are people, no matter how small. Also, being in a foster home or being adopted is better than being dead. I don’t want to argue, I’m just putting s point out there
Daydream Bee ASMR no lots of kids are out in horrible shelter how bout the people who are anti abortion take in ALL them babies . I’m tired of children being sexually assualted and raped cause you wanna make a decision for someone else . Yes sex has consequences, but some people shouldn’t have kids and abortion should be a option cause it’s YOUR body .
Yeah. It’s funny how republicans always say “get government out of people lives, we want small government, I don’t want the government telling me what to do!” BUT when it comes to abortion, they love big government and want the government to invade the woman’s life and tell her what to do. Hypocrisy at its finest.
@@TheSunchaserElMalo You blind ass sheep. The left/right, Dem/Rep spectrums are a construct of big economy to squeeze as many opinionated purchases out of you as possible.
@@TheSunchaserElMalo Protecting the lives of its citizens is a minimal requirement for any system to be called a government. So saying no to abortion is very basic to small government
I’ve been saying this for years. The baby would simply be birthed early. Why would it need to be intentionally killed??
What is the doctors opinon when life saving interventions not being provided for babies born before 25 weeks? Would refusing life saving interventions a form of abortion? There has been cases of babies born before 25 weeks able to breathe on their own.
I'm pro-life and have a question about this. If a person with cancer who found out in early stage of pregnancy about her condition and it's aggressive that she will mostly die if she doesn't act quickly, doesn't she need an abortion? Because in early stage like 4-8 weeks (I assume?), there is not best delivery option like c section or induce available other than abortion pill or abortion with tube?
Does anybody know if there is an option for delivery than abortion during the 1st trimester?
See addresses this very issue during the video. The parents could choose to proceed with the chemotherapy knowing that Any effect on the baby would be tragic but unintentional.
Believe whatever the hell you wanna believe, I don't care. But what pissed me off about this video was that it was an ADVERTISEMENT! THIS IS A TOPIC THAT SHOULDN'T BE FORCED ON PEOPLE! I personally disagree with this video but you do you, it's only a problem when you spread it as 'fact' in such a disgusting manner. Again, you believe what you want, just stop looking for blind sheep by making this an ad and just let it spread by word of mouth. I'm sorry if you're offended by my opinion but I'm offended that this was an actual ad! So if you hate me, let's just agree to disagree, it's only ONE thing about a person. Don't throw away a whole pizza because of one speck of dust.
The fact that you can't argue against this video in any way other than "It was an ad so it's invariably bad" just proves how you're the sheep here.
Your side consistently does things in every way other than "word of mouth". You're just trying to shut down the opposing sides options by saying that.
Basically, if you can't discuss your opinion with somebody else without telling them that the way they're doing it is wrong, just stop.
If you know what’s morally right of course you want to share and promote it
I was 16 when I commented this, but I still stand by that you can believe what you want, but forcing it on others by labeling it "murder" is objectively wrong.
There have already been cases of SA victims and children being forced to carry to term because of the overturning, as well as wanted but dead fetuses not being removed because the body didn't remove the corpse itself, and doctors fearing for their careers.
I don't want to live in a world where a 10k year old book that's been edited and mistranslated to h*ll and back dictates what _I_ can and cannot do with my body, especially when I know that pregnancy would kill me, if not physically, then mentally.
The both of you can take your opinions and go where someone will actually be willing to debate you on this. I'm not gonna budge on my beliefs, especially when I know that pregnancy would only result in me taking myself to an early grave to escape the nightmare.
Thank you so much for sharing!
The removal of the baby in case of an ectopic pregnancy might not be considered abortion, but is it possible for the baby to survive the procedure?
Yes indeed. Obviously the chances are lower, but there is a possibility for sure. There are children who have survived it. The point is to maximize life as opposed to jumping straight into abortion which immediately strips away life and actually is worse for the mother.
@@DarthBalsamicThanks. That is great!
There is no rare case where a child can grow in the fallopian tubes without bursting the tubes and hence killing itself and the mother. What I'm saying is that whoever said ectopic pregnancies can go on even rarely is completely false. The absolutely cannot . So I think you misunderstood my point
Speaking the truth.
