- The Happyrun G100 (happyrunsports.com/) is a super fun ride, but I still can't tell if it's more of a bike or a motorcycle! What do you think?

Thx 4 the responsible #EPed review.
34mph on a "bike' that big and heavy needs to be licensed as a moped. 15 year old me would have loved to work off that parent loan to go to my 1st summer job.
That top battery should be where the storage bin is to lower the CG and have a "tank" as waterproof storage for a helmet and charger.
under U.S. federal law, if it has pedals, its a bicycle. i never registered or plated my mopeds. same with gas bikes. 🍻
@@niteshades_promise I believe in most jurisdictions a moped can only go up to 30 mph. So this bike would have to be plated and registered which you would not be able to do anywhere because it comes nowhere close to DOT standards. Adding nearly non functional pedals is not some magic loophole.
@@bensonr2 nope. ive talked to state reps, lawyers. no state regulation on wattage, engine displacement, or speed is valid. 🍻
My thoughts exactly, you don't want a heavy battery that high up on the frame.
Thank you for kind review, this bike is Rock!
Basically its like a 50cc electric scooter/ motorcycle at those speeds.
Most of these things don't have an European certificate of conformity (Coc), so as an European citenzen like me, can't get a licence plate for it to use it as a moped.
under U.S. federal law, if it has pedals, it's a bicycle. 🍻
@@niteshades_promise In most states it would be considered an unregistered motor vehicle (that's not capable of being registered). In states with ebike specific rules and laws it is not a legal ebike, even if you limit to the "class 2/3 mode". A legal class 2 bike is 750 watt max 20mph throttle / pedal assist. A class 3 is 750 watt max pedal assist to 28 mph and no throttle allowed.
@@bensonr2 nope. federal law trumps all state regulations. 🍻
More of a moped with the pedals.
Micah finally shows us what he wears in his normal life😂
Don’t judge my pajamas! 😉
Rad review, rad bike!
Also one other advantage of receiving the bikes in low power mode is that it ensures the buyer, in common internet parlance, RTFM (Reads The [Factory] Manual).
Nothing gets hot heeled new buyers into scanning the entirety of the manual than needing to so they can unlock the power of the bike.
That much battery capacity usually retails for about $1200. If they are charging $1700 for the bike.... then yes, the rest of the components will not be of the best quality. Not for me... but not a bad deal either.
I like the color scheme. The chain is loose. I would mod it with Pegals. I like how the brake light/directionals protrude out of the saddle. Does it have a torque sensor, or a cadence sensor? If you are going to mod, it with Pegals you are going to have to replace the entire crankset. I like this electric moped. I just like mine better.
Hahaha love it ,....
Now that's hot!!! All it needs is to squeeze in a Nuvici hub gear for the cyclist's and motor's output, and a cafe racer profile, fairings... and a sidecar for good measure
5:47 “personal responsibility” is not exactly an American strong suit. I agree with your greater point you made though.
2:40 his true inner Florida Man is shining like 'merica!
It is a moped
The awkward pedaling was pretty funny
Doesn't it feel odd in the turns with all that weight up high? Looks like there is no weight below the seat level. Motorcycles have the motor where the empty space is and could be used for the battery.
Perineum punch, for free? Sign me up!
Was wondering if having the battery so high would make the handling feel kind of weird.
I had this thought, too. Why not use that storage area in the frame for the battery? That would keep the center of gravity lower. Then use the fake tank for storage.
How to contact with factory?
Is there a bike that can reach these speeds that is at least "decent" to peddle also?
My engwe m20 dual battery Cafe racer I get 30-32 with the pedals. But it's a shit bike. Had it a month and it's already not working
Ths perineum punch is actually a feature
How is it protected against part theft. Removable display, removable comtols ...
Priced right.
@@robertkribs9513 how much??
LOL! 2:31
Any bike that does NOT REQUIRE pedaling should NOT be considered a Bicycle.
They are mopeds/mini motorcycles.
The term Bike includes ALL TYPES from Bicycles to motorcycle and these e-Bike makers are trying to blur the lines.
Government is making classifications and regulations for them though
Oh.... I thought you meant it was actually fast. For a nonbike it should do at least 50.
That’s not a motorcycle 😂
Most fitting label would be e-moped
34 mph is no motorcycle. Maybe not a bicycle either....
You can’t ride an non-e-bike bicycle to 34mph.
@@blackwhirlwind1245Well maybe *you* can't.
It doesn't matter as long as it's not a stupid, ugly automobile car.
Chinese tires = many flats!!!
Good luck getting that bike home after you travel 10+ miles
Or maybe......change tires?
The Chinese make better stuff than Americans now
@@MrJustek yes , even more expensive motorcycle tires , these cheap tires are not even made for asphalt, they are like knobbly dirt bike tires for off road use , they wear out and can puncture with a pin
Slime and Mr tuffys are *** ok but always carry extra tube n tools n pump!
green slime. never get a flat. ive ran cheap tires 100s, 1000s of miles no problem.🍻
@@niteshades_promise I meant ok !! Typo
5000+ miles 3rd set of tires at least 5 flats with slime
