My thoughts, it's the fault of his Filipino parents. Why they didn't introduce the Philippines to him when he is still young. . The culture the tradition the values as a Filipino. At least growing up he has an idea about the Philippines. It's a shameful to the Filipino parents that they forgot where they came from. Ikinahihiya nila ang Pinas for sure kaya never introduced and tell about Philippines ❤❤❤. I'm proud being a Filipino despite we are poor. Despite our government is full of corruption. Only in the Philippines I find happiness and love.
I’m proud to be a Filipino, no matter what, poverty, corruptions etc. is all over the world, it’s just how we handle it. What we believe , we can achieve, through God’s help and guidance. That is Filipinos💪💪
I AM NOT JUST A FIL-AM--I AM A FILIPINO.. my point of view is that, he is accepting the fact that he is a filipino-American, but the thing is that in his heart, he felt that he is more Filipino than American.. he has that huge emotional connection in the Philippines than in America❤❤❤
Filipino NURSES working abroad is one of the testimony that we are contagious people in kindness to others & positive in times of trials. Resilience in tagalog " matiisin" at matatag.
Wow!!!! I was really touched w/his words saying that.. He left as an American, and he came back as a Filipino. Salute to him for finally accepting his other half of his citizenry and he’s being proud of it. I can proudly say that.. We Filipinos born to help, love, respect, and most of all care others esp. those who are not the same as our culture. Thank you sir Ovela for featuring him in your channel. God bless You!!🫶🫰👍👏🤛☝️🤲🥰
Hi Ovela, though I am a dual citizen already, still proud of my country bec I go home yearly to visit my relatives and friends. Thank you Ovela for loving the filipino people.
I’m married to a Japanese for 38 yrs w/ 2 children & 2 grandchildren who are all Japanese I could be a Japanese citizen after got married for 3 yrs but I chose not to file for it until now my children convinced me to get Japanese citizenship I love who I am as a Filipino the more I heard about stereotypes persons the more I’m proud as a Filipino even though side of my mom is Chinese and my dad also w/ Spanish blood I AM PROUD TO SAY I AM A FILIPINO❤❤❤
Same question to a foreigner whom i met when he visited Batad Rice Terraces and our Ducligan Village (Hotspring). His my seatmate to a Bus Topload. It so happen that we exchange stories and happen to ask him why not in Boracay and many more tourist destinations. And he said, he wants to enjoy his trip to the locals not to his kind foreigner. Make sense to me.
This touched my heart...and teared my eyes. It brought me back to be proud of having a Filipino heritage, it's gratifying to see or hear things like this.
Oh boy ur very courageous, Im pinay but living now in Paris, France with my french husband and 3kids (eurosian kids). But when my husband retire we will go back to Phil. Bon courage and mabuhay.
Sharing: After a week of disastrous flood in our neighborhood, Sunnyville, Davao City, I went back for a vacation expecting to see the worst. But I was touched seeing no trace of the flood destructions but smiling faces sharing stories of their experiences during the flood. The small Church named after Santo Nino was standing tall although His Image was washed out by the flood remained standing half body covered wt mud. Their resilience is remarkable!
Wow!... Too great to hear, you loving Filipinos and wanted to live and stay here someday.... I welcome you bro for being a Filipino in heart!... Thank you!
Ovela, Welcome to the Philippines again in advance even if you're still coming back in September. We hope you enjoy your stay again specially during Christmas time and New Year. Mabuhay!!!🇵🇭💪💪💪
tears of love and joy, preach, thank you. As a parent I always introduce me as a Filipino, Yes reality about negativity( kidnaps, robbery and corruption and so on and so fort) but all country have this even America but it is the kindness and love about Filipinos and the country Philippines.
again, i'm the luckiest girl in the world! I was already excited of the thought of you coming back but it became more real when you booked your tickets yesterday. 🥰 merci and i'll see you very soon mahal ko! ps: this guy founded The Filipino Story?! I sent you their IG page before. perhaps that's why you said it was familiar...
If he didn't wanna be a Filipino, not a single Filipino in the Philippines needs him to be one. Good thing he learned to accept his roots. Honestly, I was teary-eyed while this man was telling his stories.
Glad to hear that. You're gonna experience Christmas there, towns and barangay fiestas as well. You'll definitely experience local life experience. God bless
i'm proud Filipino here. though he realized everything and came back to love his Filipino side blooded, I still don't trust him, I really mean it. I don't know why, but that's how I feel. feel sorry for him. But I really don't trust him so much...
Hi Ovela First let me welcome you and thousands of your friends back to the Philippines by november. I was touched with the video yeah its true there are lots of People around the world with Filipino heritage who are not yet reconnected to the motherland. Some are not really proud because of the sterotypes like Filipinos are housemaids, some continue to believe that the country is very poor, others are afraid pf the many crimes like the one happened more than a decade ago and other negativities. Those perceptions is really strong when childrens are living in the west with its comfort and but the moment they set foot here in the country and feel the warmth, hospitality , the care of their Filipino friends and relatives those percepcions changes everything.
Believe it or Not! Filipino(Ophirian) are “seafarers & overseas workers” since 900 A.D. & they called us “Eminent Group - Filipino/Ophirian” our neighbors Southeast Asian Countries.🌏📚✍️✍️✍️
sir visit Palawan I often view your vedio thank you very much you understand and love our culture, tradition, etc, I agree there something to our country i can't explain but you can fell it
You're a very nice & smart guy Ovela, your really welcome in our country w/c is the philippines if I have the means iwill tour you around & show you the beauty of our country, anyway, keep safe to your travel back in the phil. Godbless!🎉❤😅❤
on my opinion what he meant by saying making Philippines great again, coz there was a time where Philippines is considered the most powerful country in south east asia.. compared to its neighboring countries, but now it seems at stale.. esp. after the PFRM regime. not until the PRRD but sadly pandemic hits.. it would have been a great era.
Ohh, you will be spending Christmas and New Year in the Philippines!! Ovela, you can include our home in your itinerary for Christmas. Pls. join us when we hold a Christmas party for the kids in our area, hand out our simple Christmas package to our streetsweeper and garbage collector, and enjoy Karaoke!
I have been in the US for 24 years and never applied for US citizenship as I want to go back home in the Philippines for good.I want to die as a Filipino in my Country. The culture, the food, the beauty of the land, the temperature where I loved.
In my honest opinion he just used "FILIPINO" to gain viewership or what ever intentions he has in mind for future businesses, as we all know a lot of vlogger came to the Philippines had benefited from Pinoy's viership and made hundreds of subscription in just a short period of time and gained popularity, I hope and pray that his intentions are pure for Filipino people and his acceptance to become one is not a part of deceiving ones self, People come and go but Filipino remains resilient patience God fearing and most of all HAPPIEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD ❤
😭😭😭🇵🇭🇵🇭iove you so much broo❤❤but not us to love we must love all hwo living crature in this world no religios but ur rise❤❤❤❤love u all my world im in this earth❤❤❤❤❤
Maybe because he was born and raised in America and was never introduced to any Filipino culture. In the end though he at least made an effort to come and discover that his root is not that bad as he imagined.
There are Fil Ams who barely know anything about the Philippines since they were not able to be in the Philippines all their lives even though they have Filipino blood. And his advocacy I guess is to help others like him to spread awareness and educate them about what truly is the Philippines, it's people and culture and to give assistance to those in need.
My thoughts, it's the fault of his Filipino parents. Why they didn't introduce the Philippines to him when he is still young. . The culture the tradition the values as a Filipino. At least growing up he has an idea about the Philippines. It's a shameful to the Filipino parents that they forgot where they came from. maybe his parents are amongst those hypocrite , , ,or elite ones
Exactly!!! The parents should be the first to introduce the culture and tradition but they didn't.
That's a fact.
Oh Philippines OUR Philippines 🇵🇭
I’m proud to be a Filipino, no matter what, poverty, corruptions etc. is all over the world, it’s just how we handle it. What we believe , we can achieve, through God’s help and guidance.
That is Filipinos💪💪
I went on the trip to the Philippines as an american and i came back as a filipino❤❤❤

I think he means that he's a Filipino descent just born in America if ever he was. Purely blooded Filipino that just born in America.
