The reason why there is LIGAW in the Philippines is to show ur real intention sometimes or most of the time u have to introduce the guy to ur parents and the guy need to meet them to prove that the guy intention is pure thats why sometimes when they have family outing its an extended family outing because they include their bf and gf... You and Juwonee have the same vibe to the point that I think you can be a couple… hmmm I grew up in the Philippines and went to migrate in the US as a young adult so basically I am well aware of the dating culture in the Philippines and the US. In the Philippines there is the introduction, courtship, confirmation stages. The introduction is where one gauge on how you feel the first time you see someone then if you don’t either of you feel positively attracted the same way then it is a no go. When you pass the intro stage you move to courtship / ligaw stage. Pinoys has a closed family orientation so in the process of the guy proving his sincerity to how he felt to the girl plus it is a casual situation given that the guy is not bringing his own parents to ask permission to make ligaw. It is just a guy being brave and honest asking the girl’s parents permission and most likely the girl already told her parents about the guy and how she felt about him. During the confirmation stage both the girl and guy need to be definitive about each other feelings. If the guy realized that he’s feeling for her is less than before the ligaw, then he can tell the girl but the guy will need to accept the risk that there is no going back. In the US, basically the dating culture is the same as in the Philippines minus the parents permission but the only added important factor is the compatibility in personality and sexually. If one of these factors is not met in compatibility then it is hard to move forward with a relationship. I grew up in the Philippines and went to migrate in the US as a young adult so basically I am well aware of the dating culture in the Philippines and the US. In the Philippines there is the introduction, courtship, confirmation stages. The introduction is where one gauge on how you feel the first time you see someone then if you don’t either of you feel positively attracted the same way then it is a no go. When you pass the intro stage you move to courtship / ligaw stage. Pinoys has a closed family orientation so in the process of the guy proving his sincerity to how he felt to the girl plus it is a casual situation given that the guy is not bringing his own parents to ask permission to make ligaw. It is just a guy being brave and honest asking the girl’s parents permission and most likely the girl already told her parents about the guy and how she felt about him. During the confirmation stage both the girl and guy need to be definitive about each other feelings. If the guy realized that he’s feeling for her is less than before the ligaw, then he can tell the girl but the guy will need to accept the risk that there is no going back.
In the US, basically the dating culture is the same as in the Philippines minus the parents permission but the only added important factor is the compatibility in personality and sexually. If one of these factors is not met in compatibility then it is hard to move forward with a relationship.

8:48 my guy friends also send a picture in our GC or just DM me with a picture who they hanging out with sometimes especially since were a very close friend group and everyone knows each others parents.....its like an update, so we also know what theyre doing and where to find them especially if their parents ask about them....I guess I kinda understand whyits kind of weird for other cultures 😅 Our guy friends do it sometimes but mostly for the girls we send pictures updates to our GC or messaging each other directly and sending a picture especially if for example theres 6 of you in a friend group and only 2 hang out or 3.We also update especially its just us 2 girls hang out like overnight on a cafe or out at night some of our friends can know about our location and go to us if needed,especiallhsince our 2 guy bestfriends are such a gentleman one of them would literally go out and fetch us just to make sure we girls get back home safely then we would take a picture or chat the others that "We got home safely,(Guy friend name) took us home"
