Thanks it's just what I needed. I am using a older version of aspire . Multiple tool passes is under create profile toolpath. Guess I will need to update. Have to start watching your other videos. Thanks again. James
Definitely hit the spot on explaining. I had horrified look when i tjought you were going to flatten 1in in 8 passes... unless you have s VFD spindle!😮
First time viewer I thought the video was great. How would you do that same thing with a v bit cutting text? I would like to do the text in several passes. Thanks for the help. I did subscribe.
Thank you for watching 👍 The vcarve and engraving toolpath doesn't have the option to add passes, so you would have to attempt using a profile toolpath to have the option to edit passes. Your only option to cut several depths with the vcarve/engraving toolpath is the save a seperate toolpath for each depth you want to cut, stepping down the flat depth in each saved toolpath. Out of pure curiosity, is there a specific purpose for why you want to cut in several passes with your v bit?
@@twoelmbuilds I am carving text in hardwood (Hickory) and my x axis cant handle the full depth of cut from a 1/2 inch 90 degree tool. I was hoping to make multiply passes to solve the problem. I have been trying to find a work around and I am going to try a 1/4 90 degree bit. I set the depth of cut in the tool parameters to 1/16 inch and watching the preview of the tool path it look like that may work. Thanks for the quick response and any ideas you may have will be appreciated.

Title is misleading. I was looking for actual vcarving tool path info. Not Vcarve slab flattening pocket tool paths.
