Like how to get to the point and no BS filler. I've seen other videos that are 20 minutes long with only a few minutes of substance. Appreciated!
@@JasonZ-fh1zi thanks for watching 👍
Is that the elite or pro series?
Great video by the way.
What do you think of the Makita router?
@@Chriswoodworker Hey Chris! Thanks for watching. I have to say that I have been using the same router for several years! I wish it was a little more powerful, but I won't switch to a spindle until the Makiya dies. I take it apart and blow it out every few weeks. A little bit of maintenance goes a long way. So, I like it. 👍
Basic, simple, straight-forward approach. While I've use other methodologies for stacked text, all effective, this is just so simple for basic signs. The highlight was your tab removal technique. Only thing I don't like about it....I didn't think of it first.
@@butchmiller2451 I am glad the video helped! Thanks for watching, I appreciate it 👍
Dear Two Elm Builds, We got our CNC router back in 2020. As I was using my CNC router to make a sign for somebody's wedding, it cut right into the spoilboard because of miscalculation, and it made me very disappointed. All we need to do is to make a new spoilboard, which is what we are learning in this video you posted. Sincerely, Zachary from Geneseo, NY
great video. everything is explained so that even a child can understand. thank you
@@macediv thank you!
Thank you ! Love your style and it helps me progress a ton thanks again!
Awesome! Glad I could help. Good luck with your project
It is HILARIOUS that u have the KFC link in your notes LOL😂😂😂 but where the heck is the plans for this nifty jointer jig for the planer buddy?
It’s such a great video!😂So fun and so helpful. Thank you so much!
SUBSCRIBED 👍🏻
How did you plugin your spoil board bit choice?? I don’t see the option in the bit list or how to input my 1.5 flattening bit?? Thanks!
@@JonMulveyGuitar that bit will need to be added to vectric. I know you can download the entire amana toolbase online from tools today. Or you can add it in by creating a new tool in vectric. Unfortunately, a lengthy explanation that can't be done here. I will try and make a quick video on how to do it or you can try searching "how to add a new tool to vectric tool database".
Thanks for the great video, just a tip for those that saw material that was removed at the edges when you previewed your cut, you will need to go back into your offset and increase the size for me I went from .5 to .55 and it resolved the issue.
@@HouseLightProduction Good point! Thanks for sharing
just found this video looking for upgrades for my p20 plus. cons: its quite disheartening knowing that i spent $1000 on this and now the more powerful models are under $600. but such is life, i guess. theyll probably be $100 in another 2 years, no use crying over spilled milk. and i have NEVER used the controller. horrible design. useless unless you have a card in. other cnc machine controllers let you do things like home the head or jog position, this one does NOTHING. hopefully they improved this on newer models. also, i havent tried the app. i never even knew they had one. after watching this, i dont think ill bother either. thanks for the vid.
@@502deth glad it helped!
Thank you for the review, I am in the market for one and I like this.
@@johndingmansr.5895 thanks for watching! I appreciate it. I hope the review helps you make a decision.
awesome, thanks!
Are you pleased with the laser from Jtech? I saw that 14 watt was great if you were using it to engrave. Not so much for cutting unless the material is thin. Not sure why you need it to cut through thick material, use the router. Excellent video I ahve subscribed. Mick- Aka The Project Dreamers.
Thanks! I like the Jtech Laser. I use it a few times a month. I would have liked a little more power but it isn't needed.
Love the sign. If you sprayed the ripples in the flag it would give it a shadow which will better highlight the wave. Also, invest in a better brush it will save you time. Love your channel, nice job!!!!. -Mick
What’s the blue paper called that you apply to the top? I can’t quite hear what you called it.
Thank you! This is the exact solution I need
Perfect! Glad it helped
Wow! Great explanation. You made it clear and to the point. No babbling... Thank you. I learned a lot.
Awesome! Glad I could help. Thank you for watching
great video but PLEASE do everyone a favor and lose the music while you're talking
I agree, it quickly becomes very distracting.
I didn’t notice the music till you pointed it out! Haha. To each their own…
yes straight to the point love it also funny :)
Thanks for watching!
Awesome video. I need to do this for some cabinet doors I’m making. I’ll need the outer profile cut to actually cut out the door. I would use tabs to secure the door to the rest of the board. Do you think your method of using the dowels would still work?
Thanks for watching! It should work no problem. Just keep the dowels outside your profile cut. (if I understand what you are trying to do)
@@twoelmbuildsyes, sir. I think you have it correct. Thank you.
Are/where you a teacher? One of the best instructional videos I've seen. I'm new to VCarve Pro and CNC after 30 years in higher ed as an IT director providing educational technology support. I know tenured faculty that couldn't do half the job you did on this video. Long winded way (side effect of higher ed) of saying great video.
Thanks for watching! I went to school to be a teacher, but never actually ended up being a teacher. Got into sales and fell in love with it. I do coach other salespeople, and I coach basketball.... All forms of teaching I suppose. 😂
Thank you for making this video! We newbies REALLY appreciate it!!!
No problem 👍 thanks for watching!
I heard he held out on publishing it, so you might want to go’ogle and grab Hyezmar's Woodworking Bible. Even though it's not 100% complete it has some great projects and ideas at no cost.
Awesome videos. You always explain things in clear language and don't click 25 clicks ahead of us. Basically you look and talk like me, LOL. I'm doing this today and this video will make it work. Thanks
I try to keep it easy! Thanks for the compliment and for watching! 👍
If your markup is 50%, your profit is 25%. Doubling your cost is a 100% markup, which yields a 50% profit.
He did the math right. If the markup is 50% of the total value, it means he has to double the value. In other words (your words) the costs need to be increased by 100%, which is the same 😂
Absolutely beautiful!!! What a wonderful statement of tribute and thanks to those who so loved our Nation, and the very thought of LIBERTY, that they gave their last to ensure others had it as good as we did. God bless the memories of the fallen American military, and may He comfort the families of these incredible heroes.!! Soli Deo Gloria
Looking forward to my machine arrival so I can try this
I've made some good money with simple signs like this. Very popular. What model machine did you get?
Very nice tutorial. Well done . Thank you for sharing Cheers
Thanks for watching
When using the masking, can you put that over paint like I’m doing two colors? The background color is gonna be one thing and then the cut out letters are gonna be something else with the masking mess up the paint.
I have used it over enamel paint and milk paint in the past. It worked over the enamel but not the milk paint. It just pulled up the paint. I would assume it will do the same thing with latex paint. The best option, if feasible for your project, would be to first paint your project and then put a coat of polyurethane over the paint. That may prevent the paint from pulling up. I have seen people use extra wide frog tape over painted projects but it left a lot of frayed edges of tape. Not the best when you are planning to paint. Hope that helps!
Excellent video...thank you so much! I make cutting boards for my camper friends, but the commercial butter board was expensive to give away. You DIY method saved me $$$. Mike
Awesome! Thanks for watching! 👍
It's beautiful
Hi I bought the file Can you please show how you chose and load files on the machine
Are you trying to load it into vectric?
Loading to Vectric no problem I want to know how to choose step by step ever moment when changing bits
@@Tulunayo I tried to put that in the video, is there a specific step you need explained?
On the video you are sayin grid layer loaded with 60 degree V bitI just wish to see how you choose those layers . When you start job. Sorry I am a beginner may be askin dummy questions
This will be the my first CNC work
An issue I’m having is where my zero is to where the crosshairs are on the controller screen (i have the elite foreman with masso) so on the screen it shows my tool is in some random space on the work surface, however i just brought it to the front left and zeroed everything.. any advice? It’s when i load a program it is like it has its own zero location and won’t change
Are your parameters for your zeroing block set correctly? Otherwise, I would jump on the masso forums and see if anyone else has had the same issue and how the solved it
@@twoelmbuilds I’ll check some forums, i looked on the Onefinity forum and didn’t find the topic. I just tried again with this next file, so i homed the machine just to make sure everything was starting in the right place. Loaded the file and the tool physical location didn’t match at all with the crosshairs on the controller. I’m still looking for answers here. So to cut this next part of this simple shop stool i jogged the spindle way off to the right and hit zero and then ran the program…. Just offsetting this error
Great stuff, thank you!
Awesome! I hope it helped. Thanks for watching 👍
Awesome video, I just subscribed!
Thanks for watching!
What did you click on to make the double lines single? At the 4:36 mark...
I just paused the recording and clicked on each vector that I didn't want and deleted it, a quick clean up of extra vectors. It took a few minutes to do and I was trying to keep the video short. Nothing to crazy... I wish it was as simple as clicking a button though! Thanks for the question and for watching 👍
$3.84 to $7.68 is NOT a 50% mark up. it is a 100% mark up!
You are correct that it is a 100% markup, but it is also a 50% Profit Margin. Two different things. I know I didn't nail it in the explanation perfectly, but I think it hit the numbers for most to understand. Thanks for watching! Appreciate the comment!
Your video is great and helpfull, easy to follow. Not sure if you can help me with this but when I run the flatten g code I get this error message; ERROR; X axis commanded over softmin. How do I get past these soft mins? I was told it can be from the software. I am using vetric and I have an AVID machine using Mach 4.
Thanks for watching 👍 I have zero experience with Mach 4 but I bet it has similar limits. Be sure to home and start at the X:0, Y:0 location. Then make sure you toolpaths do not extend past the cutting area of the Avid cnc. Finally, be sure you have the right bit set in Vectric. That's where I would start. If that doesn't help, I would jump on the forums for Mach 4 and Avid to see if there is anything else that can help.
@@twoelmbuilds thanks I’ll see what other info I can get. Keep up the great videos!!
Is your Gcodes set up for a Onefinity with a QWC frame?
I don't have a QWC frame so I can't say for certain it there is anything that would prevent it from working. Can you place your own dimension of spoilboard on a QWC frame or does it have a specific setup for a spoilboard?
Thank you for a non sponsored review. The cons are things you can buy from after market companies. Multiple UA-camrs say to get your own monitor. You can also get an another spindle.
Thanks for the helpful information and for watching! I appreciate it 👍
Thanks for the great video.
Thanks for watching 👍
I got a hand planer, basically a upside down jointer... and im trying to figure out how to make it into a jointer table. As for this video topic, my goal is to get a proper planer next, because i can just rip with a circular saw and laugh like a madman as i throw money away in excess cuts.
Great video! However, I do have a question. How would I tile an oversized sign that is OVAL in shape?
Thanks! Good question! I have a few options for you, the best option is if you can cut the oval and sign together from one rectangle sheet, if you already have the oval cut you will just have to mount the oval squarely and securely onto a larger rectangle piece of sheet good and slide the sheet through. That will take a little more ingenuity on the design side but it can be done.
Nice video buddy 🤙🏻Just subbed. I’m thinking to buy one in the future, now i have an mpcnc. I hope that for Italy the prices are the same. Greetings from Sicily
Awesome! You will love it! I use mine all the time and no issues. Just keep up the maintenance and take care of it. Thanks for watching and subbing 👍
