    Hey Mark thanks again for another ripper video. You're overspending on the grease proof paper mate. I do my glue ups on an old piece of laminate from a kitchen bench top or some cheap office furniture or something - I forget what it was. Maybe I'm getting old. Anyway, glue doesn't stick to the plastic surface and it's dead flat. There's always someone throwing this stuff out on the nature strip or something so the price is perfect.

Easily cleans with CMT FORMULA 2050 BLADE & BIT CLEANER [or some say SimpleGreen]. Tends to ‘make’ burn marks appear more readily from tool blades.

    One option to go for instead of a miter saw, is a quality miter gauge for your table saw. Don’t have to break the bank with a super deluxe one that makes toast and walks the dog either. Even Incra has wallet friendly ones that are very accurate. Can also make a miter sled for the table saw.
    Only downside is that cutting long stock can be a bit of a pain in the ass. And it’s not as speedy as a miter saw. Pros and cons.

    Nice work Dainsey, the first big thing I made in my workshop other than my workbench was a giant wall mounted glueing up board. Its perfect for glueing small bits of scrap wood into body blanks for guitars.
    Top tip, ditch the grease proof paper, just use cheap car body wax. The glue will not stick 😀 Just gotta remember to reapply every few months.

Only space I have for building is the kitchen and a 3mx2m space in the back yard when the weather allows (space v limited here in the UK) so no space for a table saw but I did stretch to a track saw - and a shop-vac to help maintain the matrimonial bliss on the kitchen days. Keep doing what you do and inspiring us all!

    • @ozzyeyre
      @ozzyeyre Рік тому

      @@arcadia1081 My latest build was a TV stand from reclaimed scaffold boards. The boards were cupped, twisted, and showed all the signs of being heavily used on building sites (cement dust, paint, welding burns, etc.). They were too far gone to try to retain their industrial look, so I took more than two days just sanding down the boards to 240 grit, getting rid of the worst of the cupping and twisting (no plane!) and then had my first go at cutting rebate joints with a track saw - not quite as easy as I imagined. Would love to build a workbench like you but, sadly, I'd have no room to put it! I think bird nesting boxes may be a project for the near future.

    I would almost say it's worth it to build a small addition just to keep the space for that miter saw...i mean theyre so so very useful.
    Edit: do you think you could design some type of drop down table for your miter? Or maybe a roll over table? Maybe covert your catch table on the back side of your table saw into a rollover with the miter bolted to it so you can just flip it over when need be? It was heartbreaking seeing the miter get removed for a stupid CNC!
