Episodes just keep getting better and better. Your moviemaking is getting technically better all the time, but not at the expense of the honest and personal feel. Nothing but raves, man. Keep it up.
Very beautiful location. And it's not the worst to have a few days without mobile network. It's perfect to calm down completely in these chaotic times. Keep up your great work!
Thanks Eric! I wish I had gotten up an hour earlier to shoot the star trails. The sky was getting brighter towards the end of the 30min exposure and the stars were fading - or else I would have gotten much longer trails.
Absolutely awesome work Chris! The cinematic work is also such a great treat. Nice touch with the contrasting Kayak this time, instead of the raincoat.
Absolutely awesome vid mate! Really loving these series please keep them coming!! Your video skills are incredible you seem like you have been doing it for years.
Such a rad spot!! Been a number of years since I've been down there but this has rekindled my interest. Might plan a mission :) Cheers for the inspiration!!
Thanks! The E-M1 Mark II has sensor stabilisation and with steady hand you can fairly easily make your footage look like it was shot on a gimbal. (which is why I sold my gimbal...)
Terrific job on the video Chris and the background music is perfect. It looks like a neat place, I'd say magical with a little scary thrown in when it's dark. :)
Again an amazing video :)! Where do you get this inspirations from, like the idea with the sun shining through the tree? That's a superb composition :D
Thanks Michael! I was kayaking around trying to capture those perfect reflections. Then the sun started blinding me and I could barely see my camera screen and I noticed a flicker. The sun had just been blocked by a dead tree... from then on it was all about that 'blocking' ;-)
Hey Chris, the cinematic's look awesome, did you color grad it? if so, would be nice to see how you've done it. Saw some awesome stuff with the GH5 but almost no one seems to have done this with the E-M1.2 so far. Hope that Olympus adds 180fps through firmware update like the GH5 has. Keep up it going!
Hey Thomas, First of all, thanks for the kind comment. Secondly, yes it was all graded. I shoot in flat profile (since there is no LOG on Olympus cameras) and grade it from there using LUTs and some tweaks. I'm thinking of offering my custom LUTs just like the Lightroom preset packs in the future and sharing some tips on video editing/ grading. I'm not thaaat great at it yet, so I'm still learning myself before I want to start sharing information about it.
Hi what should I get when I get olympus em1 mark 2 the 12 to 40 pro lens or 7 to 14 pro lens better for selfies and wide shots and everyday shooting thanks

Thanks Paul! Those words mean a lot!

couldn't agree more Sebastian. It's great to get off the grid for a little while and remind yourself that there's plenty more in life.
Great episode, Chris. I love the scenes of the drowned forest - so much mood and atmosphere there.
Cheers Simon! It's the second time I've paddled down that river. It's like entering a different world (without mobile network) for a while. 👌🏼
The star trails with the dead trees overnight were sick. Nice job.
Thanks Eric!

Spent 2 nights canoeing there last year.......spectacular part of the world. Great video mate and great images.
Thanks Christopher. 👍🏼

Great Video!
Thanks man!
Awesome episode as usual loving it. Keep it up :)
Thinks Michael. Much appreciated.
very nice
Thanks Steve!
Scary or magical? What do you think about the drowned forest?
I don't think the two are mutually exclusive! Love the addition of the cinematic shots in your recent stuff!!
Terrific job on the video Chris and the background music is perfect. It looks like a neat place, I'd say magical with a little scary thrown in when it's dark. :)
Spot on Jack ;-)
Thanks! Love Liam's music. He's been kind enough to let me use his tracks - I linked to his music in the video description.
Magical! Well done old chap

Great video as always. Are you using the highres mode? Have you tried it out?
Thanks Martin. I did try it out on those early blue hours and intent on making an episode / video dedicated to the HiRes mode. So Stay tuned ;-)
Chris Eyre-Walker Photography Great! Looking forward to it. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Hi what should I get when I get olympus em1 mark 2 the 12 to 40 pro lens or 7 to 14 pro lens better for selfies and wide shots and everyday shooting thanks
12-40mm all the way for sure.
Hey Chris! Why is there an option to change the dpi in the camera menus? What should it be set to?
Hey Martin. I usually set it to 300dpi as that is the dpi I will mostly print in.
What camera are you vlogging with?
Olympus E-M1 Mark II
ahhh...
