Hi - I am very new to Lernamond and am doing a course as we speak! In this reading I also thought of the Scythe as writer's block! Especially with the letter next to it? Your tutorials are fantastic - thank you for sharing :)
I really like this spread. I read tarot but I like how the cards are interacting here. I might use this! Thanks for the wonderful explanation and how these cards really interact :)
Depends on what system you use. I use Tower for corporate structure. Bear for a manager. Anchor indicates "hard work." Fox is more entrepreneurial or avocation for me. Not everyone uses these, but I follow the French system and have found these useful to me.
This is a great tutorial and you are so talented, just love it and thank you so much for sharing with everyone! I do agree though, the music us really, really distracting. Maybe not for everyone, but if some of the others are like me, I'm very sensitive to different sounds and noises. It's hard to separate what you are saying from the music that's in the background.
Kat Thompson thank you for the feedback. My old videos had music but none of my new ones have that. I have not used that for years. This video was made 6 years ago. Thanks for stopping by and for watching. Enjoy the cards! It's a remarkable Journey.
Hello, your videos are fantastic and so interesting. Unfortunately I have some hearing problems and the back ground music is a little to loud and prevent me to understand every thing you are saying. What a shame the music is in a lot of your videos
I liked the reading and all the options that you pointed out and how the cards can play off each other. I especially like the what that you have done to modify your cards. I have some cards I might enjoy more if I modified to my liking. Thank you very much.
i loved the video. trying to learn 🙂, but i am little confused as if we don't take immediate neighbouring cards, then there would be so many permutations of advice, and then which is the right message
If you want to. The same as if you're reading for someone else. I like the card to come up randomly in my readings, but that's just a personal preference.
It would be really nice if you made playlists for your channel for the different things you have, such as these lenormand guides, product reviews, live meetings etc.
Everything is organized and listed on my website, donnaleigh.com. The Lenormand tab lists all the Lenormand material in order of difficulty, from beginner to advanced.
Hi there. The Blue Owl deck is the PERFECT deck to learn on. It has all the right pieces. What country are you in? There are some suppliers that ship overseas, and there are many independent deck artists that can send cards overseas unless there are customs issues. A few countries won't allow cards in.
Hi Donnaleigh, can you tell me the "yes" cards in the Lenormand deck? I have the #33-Key, #25-Ring and #9-Bouquet. Are those the only main "yes" cards? Thank you so much. Update me on the status of your book. Much love.
The scythe at the end position - could be that the book manuscript needs editing ? just a little (clover, modifies heavier cards), just a few pages (letter, or maybe the letter is emphasizing the book is still in manuscript form?). Knighting from scythe - with editing (scythe), the book will be taken more seriously (cross) and (knighting the other way) will shine (sun). Continuing the knighting move from cross to stork - editing takes a few takes (pretty normal, I understand) from stork-as-repetitive-move, but which could/will take it from a little luck (clover) to much better returns (fish) .... then the letter and letter-bearer so perhaps that's an email from the publisher about an award (sun) ??? Perhaps knighting the other way, scythe-sun-rider-letter-fish etc, could indicate what, exactly, needs editing ? -- Borrowing from (newly discovered) Kipper interpretation, where the card above shows the thoughts & card below shows what is being avoided, perhaps the book is about religious or esoteric matters, and the letter below suggests avoiding/the author has avoided, literal interpretations, or perhaps, avoiding the whole bottom line - editing the manuscript ---- perhaps in order to get it out of the imagination/ dreamworld (fish) and get it done quickly (rider) ? So in the middle line of 'reality' the sun lights up the dream above it and gets a book done perhaps with a small advance from the publisher (clover)
Very informative. Why is it so hard to find a Lenormand deck? I just ordered one called Lenormand Orakelkarten - blaue Eule, but it's all I could find. most are sold from Europe or very expensive. Considering how Tarot cards are so common, I was wondering why these are so expensive or hard to come by?
I was wondering the same thing about the scythe. Although I have only just ordered my first deck so I haven't had a chance to practice with them yet. The scythe does seem to have that added interpretation for me too
I've learned after shuffling, you find the significator, put that in the center and the four cards in front of the sig you place in front (top) and the four cards after the sig you place behind (bottom) Do you do it that way also? Thanks
That's a great question. It can be done either way. I tend to let the deck choose the center card because there is important information in that card. It is a central issue around which everything else swims. And you receive added information that would otherwise be lost.
I can't seem to figure out, If you get the "Cross" in a 9 card spread as the 9th last card (Bottom right corner) & all other cards are ALL positive cards, does that mean the whole spread is then burdened? All positive 8 cards are now not good? The cross is a tricky one for me, especially in this position as last card of 9 card spread.
I literally just started looking into these cards today; I've had a deck lying around for a while. My first question was going to be about how I could get my book going again. (Stupid writer's block. 😖)
dear donnaleigh, could the scythe not also mean harvest? because there are predominant positiv cards... carmic (cross knighting with the scythe) harvest - and the tip of the scythe shows outside of the spread??? this was my feeling... NAMASTE
Yes, it could if that is how you read Scythe. I tend not to use that definition in my repertoire, but some do. I like to keep my cards clear for positive or negative definitions as much as possible (snake is always negative to me, clouds is nearly always negative). But yes, if that is what you see or how you define that card, certainly.
So sorry if I am confusing you. The Lily+Snake+Scythe was not part of the 9-card spread, but constitute part of the 'advice spread' you did in the later part of this video...
hi .. I read your site ,I would like to ask you. how can completely modify the edge bit..thx! " I typically remove the borders as shown in the row of cards at the bottom of this image, to reduce the size"
Sorry, I have another question in need of your guidance. In the same 9-card spread, in the middle role, I received Coffin+Book+Child. Does it means that the book series will be the author's first and only series? With the Coffin+Bear as well, the author will loose her job? I am very new in Lenormand and would really appreciate if you could put in your two cents :) Thanks!
Remember to keep it attached to the question. If you're asking about success, these cards would suggest to me something like an abandonment of the book to either start something new. Is the book already written?
Tarot Tribe Beyond Worlds Yes, the book (series) had long been written published, and is in fact wildly popular, the author achieving international recognition... My question was: Will the book series be successful or not?... Sorry for the trouble *sheepish*...
So When *You* Read For Yourself, Do You Take Out The Lady Card or Do You Leave Her In? So If You Say That "You Like The Card To Come Up Randomly In Your Readings", I Assume You Leave Her In When You Do Your Readings?
Hi there. I have a video showing how to remove those borders. If you go to my website at Donnaleigh (dot) com, go to the link for my blogs. Then look up "Tarot Strip Tease." Two blogs will come up with instructions. Have fun!
while you could go to the cards in a GT that represent love, money, or whatever, doing a GT for just one question would be overkill. You can ask a crisp, precise question and get an answer in just a few cards.
Hi Donnaleigh, I recently did my first 9-Card Spread based on your video by using the Book as a 'significator' as well, on the probable success of an author's book series (already long published) before moving on with the advice portion. In the future part, I got Lily+Snake+Scythe. I am really confused on how to interpret these cards. Perhaps it means that harmony was disrupted by someone deceitful who intends to harvest her fame for themselves? Please advice ;)
Hi Cherie, Do you have the other cards that arrived as well? I'd like to see the whole spread rather than just reading 3 cards of a 9-card spread. But if that Scythe was in the bottom right position and follows the snake, that is not good. Considering the advice is about success, something shifty happens that cuts something meant to be good.
Tarot Tribe Beyond Worlds Thank you for your reply. Yes, I did took a photo of the spread. First row: Sun+Ring+Heart. Second row:Coffin+Book+Child. Third row:Bear+Ship+Clover. Based on my meagre knowledge of Lenormand, I concluded that the author's book succeeded in going international (Ship), having a contract from it (Ring), a very good one (Sun) and is something she loves (Heart)... However, the Coffin befuddles me a little, when found next to the Bear...
Come si Fa a distinguere le due figure se mi voglio riferire alle due intermediarie donne? Una di vecchia conoscenza e l’altra non ben conosciuta? Devo guardare i semi o carte di corte o figure di Lenormand ?
That's a great question. If it is 3 people total, I like to add another person card if the deck has extra people cards. Many decks now come with extra people cards. Or you can charge another card, like the Dog, to represent 1 of the people as well, identifying who it represents before you put the cards down. But that takes a card (Dog) out of play, and it may be relevant to what you need to know (are they loyal?), because it would no longer represent the Dog, but becomes the other person. Another option, trace the cards onto an index card to match the deck size and make your own generic "person" card. Alternately, you can use it whenever you need an additional person. You'll be able to see it from the back, though, because the color will be obvious. It doesn't need a picture, just "Person" or a stick figure would even work. It's just a significator.
Another option... if the deck has an extra card, which often has the deck name on it but the same card back, that could be the extra card. Draw a figure on it if you want to, but it isn't necessary.
i know this sounds wierd as fuck but i feel like shes giving me a reading ive gotten this same reading 3 times already about book that i should write that angel Uriel is giving me knowledge to write book ect

Couldn’t the scythe be the book will reap in the harvest and around the time of Fall season?
With all the other cards around, this is how I'd see it also.
I was wondering the same thing about the scythe. Although I have only just ordered my first deck so I haven't had a chance to practice with them yet. The scythe does seem to have that added interpretation for me too

Can a Lenormand spread be done with any deck (i.e. Tarot Deck)?
Question, If You're Reading For Yourself, Do You Choose A Significator Card (I.E. The Lady Card)?
Mam can u teach ... the occupation frm lenormand cards and how to predict timing from lenormand cards ???
