Such a sophisticated bit of songwriting: gorgeous melody and honest, brutal but compassionate lyrics, laying bare the pain on both sides. It reminds me of “Dress Up In You” for that.
Peter Albert i’ve always hoped that dress up in you wasn’t about isobel again, like, let it go, but its inclusion with GHTG pretty much solidifies that it is. I can only imagine Marisa telling Stuart, upon completion of the final leg of his 13-year journey, “you got that out of your system, now?”
As much as "Dress Up In You" is from the "female" perspective, Isobel certainly seems like an inspiration there. I think there's a trio from Stuart's perspective. Different stages: "I'm Waking Up To Us" (F you, you ruined my life) to "Dress Up In You" (WTF is she doing?) to "Nobody's Empire" (I no longer harbor any feelings; I wish you the best). Stuart did mentioned NE as a very personal song. It's not 100% about Isobel, but she made an "appearance."
brutal performance, with Stuart and Isobel stood next to each other.
shame in him.i hope he's apologized.she's a lovely lady.
@@dobbsiancant7736 It's not as if she didn't write a song of her own.
@@applemask Didn't make him stand next to her while she sang it on live TV though, did she?

We slice ourselves open for art. Beautiful and brutal
Qué hermosura de canción
And he won’t be rich, and he won’t be mad
Just as long as it’s not you
Body language from 3m02 onwards is very telling!
Pure Love , deep soul
Sound like Stu was digging on Forever Changes pretty hardcore around this time.
I saw them a little before this in LA and they opened with a forever changes song.
So beautiful, but so brutal & uncomfortable seeing them next each other during this!
The bit where she collapses on her knees towards the end and starts miserably nodding along
Sarah Martin is like: "I'll just wait a few weeks for this awkwardness to play out, and then I corner the market on female vocals."
😁
😂😂😂
Sarah already had a couple of songs with lead vocals, like the brilliant Waiting for the Moon to Rise.
Anyone understanded what Isobel said at 1:57?
@Papercop 😱
~~ meet someone else/ but ill meet someone here and he wont be rich and he wont be mad just as long its not you
@@jadecavalhieri2232 Thank you! =)
Arthur Lee!!
It´s my imagination or at 2:24, Suart turn around and see her just before to say "She was the one love of my life, She showed me the road"?
Yeah, he definitely winks as well
I get the feeling that if I could make out what Isobel was saying in the middle eight it would just make it even more awkward.
Something along the lines of: "and I'll meet someone else/and he'll be fine/ because he won't be you" .... ouch 😂
oink ooink gave me heckin goosebumps. Shit’s brutal
@@pokeeeme 😱😱😱
