You don't understand what this band is all about. What makes Blink such an iconic and incredible band is their ability to evolve and be fresh with every release. Enema was cutting edge in 1999. When I heard Take Off in 2001 it changed my life. S/T in 2003 was original as hell. But in 20fucking12 they need to write new shit and take risks. That's why they're STILL selling out stadiums. Green Day too. If you don't keep it fresh, you're just another 90's band that gets left behind. BLINK FOREVER
Ya I just heard this for the first time, fucken amazing!! Most call me crazy when I say this but I personally think he’s one of the best singers/Vocalists ever. Idk how their not in the Rocl and Roll Hall Of Fame yet…Oh and ya, I get that same emotion to most of their songs. Tears of nostalgia blink was like the Soundtrack to my childhood 🤟🏾
All of you saying that Rap in Blink is bad, that's Yelawolf. This dude is more punk rock than any of you. He was a skateboarder before any of his major musical fame. He ruptured his spleen after stage diving and still performed. Yelawolf and Travis Barker have a very close relationship, they did an EP for crying out loud so there's clearly some awesome mutual respect for talents. Let the music speak for it self people, all you need to do is listen.

Love seeing their experiments! It's a really kick ass song. though I'm not all that familiar with what they offered up with the rap. but GOD! ITS SO GOOOOOD!
i honestly don't think being a true fan is determined by the support you give to a band in terms of what they put out. You don't have to buy everything a band puts out if you don't like it... but still you're always there and know when they tour, when new music is coming out and things like that. There's nothing i dislike about blink though. But some of my favorite bands have records i don't like, and i don't buy them, cuz i won't spend my money on something that i won't enjoy. As simple as that.
Thank you blink 182 for yet another amazing song. I'm only 16 and in this world we live in today you won't find many bands like blink. You rarely find a band that you can relate to literally every song they put out there. This song is no different. Thanks blink, keep it up.
Blink makes me feel young again I've listened to them so long now, since Buddha. Their Self-Titled album was obviously a turning point for them, I remember that album cementing itself into me the first listen through. Neighborhoods, didn't stick the same way, then came this gem of an EP. Cemented itself in my ears first listen. For some reason that's all it took, the next listen to Neighborhoods I could hear what an amazing an underrated that album was, I guess my expectations were off since Neighborhoods was their first since the Self-Titled. I was pleased with Nine and California. Matt was a blessing to Blink in so many ways. He literally kept the band alive, true fans stuck with them. Thanks to him I have no expectations for their new album with Tom. Just pure excitement that the 3 of them are back at it, and appreciation for what Matt contributed to the band's history. "If you break my heart then I'll change your mind And I'll do it again" If you play the part then I will play mine And I'll do it again If we miss the mark, if we hold on tight We'll be here to try it again"
I remember I was in the library, jamming tf out of this, thinking it was on headphones... Turns out I was blaring it to the whole library... Nobody said anything, lol... Guess they liked it 🤷🤷
Actually, ALL the songs on the EP are REALLY good, and YelaWolf actually fits in the song. It's different and I don't get why people don't shut up about it.. It was obviously a one-off thing, and they're not going to do it again. It was experimenting, it's an EP. The song still sounds sick as, and the YelaWolf part mixes in with the last pre-chorus so well !
Im not eccentric about yelawolf being in a blink song or rap in general. but the song is still amazing. And as fans we should be happy that blink got back together and is continuing to make awesome music that I know I will surely be listening to for the rest of my life.Travis said the next album is going to be way better than neighborhoods which is probably my favorite album of theirs. I came to listen to this to compare to the new Blink. Immediately realized how AVA influenced DED and Neighborhoods are. Not a bad thing, it's just Tom's style now I think, no matter what band he's writing for. The production on the new CD I think people aren't liking because the guitars are too buried beneath the drums and vocals and the instruments don't have as much feeling and tone as in prior Blink records. I love California so far though, I think it's because I didn't have any expectations for it to let me down. Only expectation was that it was gonna be its own record with its own personality. Not gonna lie, wish I could still hear what Tom would have added to the new songs though. Probably some more up front riffs and leads.
Cynical sounds exactly like A New Hope. The part where it picks up after the intro. That's pretty cool. I don't think besides little parts here and there they'll ever sound like they did in the 90's, but hey, it's 2016 and people react to music differently when they're older anyway. That's why it'll always be hard for a band to please all the people all the time.
The way this song develops musically from the verse to pre-chorus, to chorus may make this the best, most well-written songs on the album. Lyrics are brilliant. Say what you want about Yellawolf, this is a well-structured pop tune---which is what Blink has always done best.
Agreed, this is the first rapper blink has ever collabed with so of course it's going to catch you off guard and maybe piss you off, but after a few more listens it grows on you. Yela's probably the only rapper that can relate to blink-182's style and roots and I think they did a pretty good job of incorporating him.

This is their best song ever, hands down. Always gives me goosebumps. I wish it got air play.
Nineteen, your eyes are glowing to my beating heart
Oh, it seems like it is fine as my hand is moving up your arm
And you never really know where it goes up until it starts
I got my eye on you
Whatcha gonna do
Daydream near a stream with the linear bites
Oh, I listen to the song on repeat from the other night
And I can't picture you but I sure got the feeling right
What a crazy world
Pretty little girl
And we wake from the night in a bed with a bruise
And we're laughing out loud over the craziest news
And you reached for my hand, I was scared in your room
We fell on the floor and we started to move
And your hands were like birds as they flew from the coop
Up my back they would climb just as I came unglued
You said
"If you break my heart then I'll change your mind
And I'll do it again"
If you play the part then I will play mine
And I'll do it again
If we miss the mark, if we hold on tight
We'll be there to try it again
Nineteen, as we roll across the bedroom floor
Your eyes, they cannot lie as you're dreaming of our future home
And the kids are growing up as you and I, we are growing old
What a crazy world
Pretty little girl
In the rain with the drink from the back of the bar
I would raise up my voice, you would raise it up more
We'd forget that our lives being apart, it is hard
We'd thought we were close but it still feels far
Can we learn to get by if we learn to have scars?
If we learn to forgive and accept who we are
You said
"If you break my heart then I'll change your mind
And I'll do it again"
If you play the part then I will play mine
And I'll do it again
If we miss the mark, if we hold on tight
We'll be here to do it again
Wait a minute, hold up a second
Don't leave me here with this feeling
Like I'm the one full of regret
Like I never did good for us both
Like you never did pull out that weapon
And stick that knife in my back
Was I supposed to accept it
When your words are like
More than just sticks and stones
Kinda like a bullet
A hollow tip that lodged in my bones
And I can't just swallow it
My pride is more than all that I own
So I gotta give it away
And some of the times I'm all the way wrong
But can't you see past me and see my fucked up home
That made me the meanest, the devil is just singing along
To the song I write til I'm alone at night
And I hang up the phone and bite my tongue
'Cause I know that me and you is just only right but one
It's a cry from the past we have been through a lot
Every year has been great and a few have been tough
And your kids, they will reach for the stars up above
We'll sit and relax as we cheering them on
All the ropes to the light, from the crypt to the grave
We start here alone, in the end, we're okay
You said
"If you break my heart then I'll change your mind
And I'll do it again"
If you play the part then I will play mine
And I'll do it again
If we miss the mark, if we hold on tight
We'll be here to try it again
