You should do a video about why Gawyn is your favorite character because I do not understand this stance at all. I don't get why anyone would think this way so it is definitely worth explaining it to others. I can't even think of a reason someone would pick him out of all of the other characters in the book. Even characters I don't particularly like I would understand over him. I am honestly fascinated by this stance on your part and want to understand where it is coming from.
I love Gawyn too. Although I also love over ten of the characters. His unbreaking loyalty to his sister and to find her and Egwene, his allowing Galad to persue Egwene romantically despite his own feelings as it was his brother and he believed it made Egwene happy and his reluctant leadership and care of the younglings after the white tower split and the tower Aes Sedai regarding them as a problem.
I am not the biggest fan of Gawyn, but I did like his character overall. The one thing that stands out for me is the part where he puts on the three rings and fights the 3 Seanchan that were trying to assassinate Egwaine. His courage and loyalty pretty much define him in my eyes.
Gawyn is my favorite character as well. He's really understandable guy who was talented, but wasn't able to be as great hero as circumstances required.
I'm thinking that Ryma's warder might get killed when she's captured, which could explain why she might be breaking so fast if she was captured after Egwene? Otherwise I think the timelines wouldn't make sense for her to break so quickly since she wasn't already captured like she was in the books.
Thank you for the preview breakdown. I like how Maxim (Allana's warder looks determined but nervous) confronting Lan. It speaks to Lan's reputation even among Warders as being very dangerous. I have a sinking feeling that while Moiraine does love her sister and nephew she is going to be forced into sacrificing them for Rand/the mission. Berthanas seems nice but if anything he seems too nice to be successfully swimming in the shark infested waters that is Chairhien politics especially if his House was in a previously weak position. Maybe his mother is coverings for him or maybe desperation introduced one of them to 'creative choices' as a certain character put it in episode 5. What ever sparks things off even if the show plays around with the timeline its important that at some point Chairhien is thrown into chaos. When better than to do it when actually in Chairhien.
I don't really care one way or the other about getting the fight literally in the sky, although the prophecy has been mention a couple of times, so I'm pretty sure it's going to happen. I'm terrified that the battle of Falme is going to be a disappointing travesty like the battle of Tarwin's Gap was. I can't wait to see the Heroes of the Horn, and Mat (my fave) leading the charge. I'm kind of hoping that the means of getting Rand & the Carheinian Crew to Falme involves a portal stone, which will give a time gap for Egwene's breaking as well as for Ryma to be caught and broken... as well as giving us a visual Flicker sequence. I'm not really expecting it to happen, but it's my wish. :) I'd like for some on screen showing of Rand getting SOME sort of blade training, so that it won't be over-the-top ridiculous when he beats Turak.
If they nail the Battle of Falme, the Rand & Ishamael battle specifically, this will have been a fantastic season. Already leaps abounds above season one. I wouldn’t mind if they kept: “I WILL TAKE NO PART. ONLY THE CHOSEN ONE CAN DO WHAT MUST BE DONE. IF HE WILL. “. That was cool af the first time I read it.
Great video! I would like the fight to take place maybe on the battlements or a tower, they’re surrounded by mist/food, either from the fighting with the one power or from the horn of Valere, and their shadows are cast on this fog, making a huge image of them fighting in the sky. So not like a dragon ball z or matrix 3 sky fight, or a moonknight giant fight, but almost a projection would be cool

Rand isn’t related to Moiraine but Galad is. Galad is related through Tarangail and Moiraine is his aunt much like she is Elayne and Gawyn’s aunt. Since Rand’s father is Juandin he is not related to the Damodred’s other than Galad who is his half brother via his mom
Not related by blood, but Moiraine is Rand's Half-Step-Aunt since Tarangail. Just like Lan is Rand's Spiritually Melded Uncle Once-Removed. So when they rode into Emond's Field, Moiraine is Rand's sorta-aunt and Lan is his sorta-uncle. It's wild they never made a thing of it in the books.
I can't help but love Lindsay Duncan (Moiraine's sis) who also played Ysabeau de Clermont quite well in "Discover of Witches." They (her and Rosamun Pike) have a decent dynamic together. I am really starting to wonder if it's Moiraine's sister who is the Darkfriend among the Cairhien nobles. Its what she felt she had to do to secure things for the family & regain status. And it will really be a blow to Moiraine--if her own sister is a darkfriend then you really can't trust anyone
I wonder if we'll see that blue sister (forgot name) from the white tower that was going off to investigate rumours of invaders..... She could be the one that takes that part of the storyline of an aes sedai already, captured, broken and forgetting her name.....

I think episode 7 or 8 will have the sky fight. They teased it multiple times at this point. It does seem like false is the big f8ght for the season so it might not actually happen until 8. I am hoping they have time to cram a teaser of the stone of tear at the end of the season as thats a very important part of story and if they don't do that season 3 I don't know when they will. We already know we are getting battle for two rivers season 3 so I'm guessing the ending will set that up. The season 2 teaser showed Lan saying to moraine that rand is all that matters now, so I am hoping rand and Lan interact and we get some of him training rand with the sword in episode 6. Rand's sword fighting against the fade was bad, so I don't think he's at blade master level yet, he would need to learn from Lan in carhien and/or while travelling to falme. This travel time would at least have egwenne captured for at least a week even using the ways. A week or two still seems incredible fast to become a blade master, but maybe his tav'ern nature gives him enough luck to beat turak
Since Moiraine came there and bipassed her sister to order the serving man, I wondered if she was the head of the house since she's the oldest (And that showed a lack of concern for her sister, in 'her house'). Egwene's strength in Earth is rare, but it can happen. Women strong in Earth make the a'dam.
Whoa. If Lan is the reason in show for the death of one of Alanna's warders, I wonder if she'd feel a need to get back at them/Moiraine by bonding a certain male protagonist protegee of moiraine's...
I do hope there is some acknowledgement that Moiraine is Galad's aunt, and Rand is his brother though. I wanted that to come up in the books. Egwene's storyline in the Great Hunt was a hard read for 13 year old me. Oof. I haven't reread that particular book as much as others because I find that part so hard to read. I would be fine if Rand and Ishy fight on the ground.
Ohh! I didn't realise a new clip was out. Interesting. I wonder how this disagreement will end. Will Moiraine be uninvited to the wedding? ... though, in the sister's defense, Moiraine has been pretty cold and bossy since showing up. I guess we'll see what happens. I did see the preview after watching episode 5. Poor Egwene... and I fear for Ryma since it looked like she was fighting. I wouldn't be surprised if she's captured in episode 6 and appears again broken...not showing her breaking, but Nynaeve and Elayne or Egwene see her later on.. maybe next season, and she doesn't answer to her name. 😭 I'm not surprised the warders would accuse Lan of being a darkfriend with what he was hiding... why didn't he just tell them about it? Why isn't he denying it? I think they'll figure out he isn't, but hopefully not after fighting each other. Lan needs to get back to Moiraine and Rand... I hope Mat & Min are in the next episode... they weren't in the last and only a couple of minutes in the previous one. Mat needs to join up with Rand so they can travel together. I'm starting to think they won't be meeting up and going to Falme until the last episode, or late in episode 7. When is Rand going to learn to sword fight? He's running out of time if he needs to know by episode 8. The fight with the fade showed that he really isn't very good. If he's that bad vs a fade, how can he face a blade master? Are they planning to walk to Falme so Lan has time to teach him?
I want to see more Nynaeve and Elayne in Falme, Moiraine and Rand , Lanfear and Ishamael and find out what happens next with Liandrin. Will she receive her reward from Ishamael? what will happen to her and her son? what does she plan to do next? Will her sisters find out that she's a darkfriend now?
It feels to me that Liandrin is set up for lots of heartbreak and pain, which will occur such that she blames the Light. This will make her even more dedicated to the dark; she'll become a very worthy opponent for the Wonder Girls.
The thing is that they get along very good but she knows her sister is a cool operator and what ever she tells her she will use to her favor, Moraine for a while being a strong Aes Sadai many in the tower would make her queen 👑, especially after Layman's pride and war and execution by the Aiel Robert hints at this just explain Des demoaire When the Sultan died hr had 2 sons when they heard he died, each son ran to the throne room to be crowned, nobody would interfere, all would help, very dangerous game. The losing brother went to the Venetian court so he could have a longer life. Power like a drug
Moiraine is single-minded and suspects her sister, that's obvious. She shouldn't give information away so she's well in character here. I do hope they stop messing about with Lan though, his confusion state was a lot later on, so I am not sure this is that period brought forward, or serves another purpose. I have no idea how Barthanes fits into this. We know what he's like in the books, so I suspect his end, and his "bride" 's as well, but how they get there without the horn excuse is a mystery. I like that even those of us that know the story and are familiar with the characters are being kept guessing. It makes it more exciting as long as they don't change the nature of the characters too much.
While I enjoy most of the storylines going on in this season, I’m still pretty heartbroken over how bad Lan’s arc has been. Ditto for Mat. I’m fine with a less stoic, non-solemn Lan. I loved it in the books, but frankly from what I’ve seen on screen, those types of portrayals only work well with bit characters. It would get too boring too fast. Unfortunately not only do they seem unsure what to do with this new version, they seem to have completely forgotten he’s a badass mf and should be doing badass mf things. Instead he’s peeing on trees and pooping all over his book awesomeness. Mat is literally useless. This show had a golden opportunity to do something more with him this season, and they’ve somehow made him less interesting than Book 2 Mat. I love book Mat in general but that’s a pretty low bar. I don’t hate what they’ve done with Min’s character so far, but I don’t think the actress playing her is great.
I wonder what she did to make her sister so angry? They were bonding in the last episode. Moraine is really being a ‘B’ tho. Why does she shut the people closest to her out like that? Is she doing it to protect them somehow?
If I remember right, she can feel everything her Sul'dam feels (maybe even to a stronger degree, I forget)... so it'd feel like beating up herself. Egwene is quite the determined character though, who doesn't do things the easy way.
Lan’s progression has been really difficult to watch for me. They’ve really butchered his character imo and though he got into a funk in the books after Moiraine “died”, the way they’re playing it in the show is not working for me at all. I hope he snaps out of it in episode 6 and starts to act with some agency! He is supposed to be the deadliest man this side of the Spine and the King of Malkeir - he needs to start acting like it.
That's a good point, he doesn't really come across as the greatest of all warders in the show. I hadn't thought about it until now. That was the whole point of him training Rand to use his herron sword. Lan being the greatest of all and Rand eventually surpassing him.
I hope and pray the people in charge of this show do not blow it with the ending like they did with GOT. That ending was so bad, I have lost all interest in GOT.
I'm going to be really negative and say that I am sick of those lets-talk-about-our-feelings scenes between the warders. I have the bitter taste since S01 E05. Please, Rafe, make a spin-off about tough guys with soft hearts, wet eyes and hurt feelings, but don't put them into the main show!
Moiraine is like a cheap knock-off Cersei Lannister. Being miserable and extremely dislikeable doesn't make her appear a strong character like Rafe thinks it does.
I don't want the season to end.

If her sister is a darkfriend she's doing very well fending her off. Not falling for her emotional blackmail to get information from her.
When will Rand learn swordplay?
Who is Egwene beating on? If it's a sul'dam has Ishy neutralized the a'dam and trying to recruit Egwene or has she entered the dreamworld?
In the books, first thing she does when she is freed is she beats her Sul'dam.
If I remember right, she can feel everything her Sul'dam feels (maybe even to a stronger degree, I forget)... so it'd feel like beating up herself. Egwene is quite the determined character though, who doesn't do things the easy way.
@@leza4453 She is wearing the collar.
@@ashleyien1222 Yep, she can. She doesn't appear be receiving the backlash.
Very nice, from a non-bookreader!🎡🎡🎡⌚️⌚️⌚️
I’m not sure I like what they’re doing with Moiraine this season. I’m also not sure how I feel about them changing her age.
Moiraine is like a cheap knock-off Cersei Lannister. Being miserable and extremely dislikeable doesn't make her appear a strong character like Rafe thinks it does.
Nah surely someone with at least half a brain can't come away with this thought lmao. She's almost nothing liken Cersei.
