    It good to see the A series on the Yanchep line. So when the Armadale line reopens there would be a huge change load of people to check out the new line Thornily line would be linked to the airport line. Sounds like they have forgotten the Cockburn central connection to busy with the Ellenbrook line so interesting things yet to come

    To answer your questions regarding the driver change:
    I believe if the driver stays with the same train from departing the depot on the Clarkson K (or from Claisebrook to a Cockburn W) then they would breach their maximum straight hours without a break if they took it up to Yanchep and then into depot, hence they need to change at Nowergup or earlier at Perth. After their break they could take a 3-car out (though there aren’t many and I think they only start sending them out around 8PM) - otherwise they’ll head up to the changeover point again. And yes they do send 3-car trains out at both Yanchep & Mandurah to swap out for the 6-car trains.

    The C-series can literally fit so many gab handles they should make new and more modern grab handles it would look way better 😊

    I rode a six car A-series on the Cockburn to Witfords service on Wednesday morning. It was trains 7, 17, and 47. Male voice station announcements to Perth, then changed to Female voice for Leederville onward.

      Most people don't change their habits overnight. They need to adapt. Sometimes they won't catch it until they take a new job opportunity. Sometimes they might not even think about it until their friends talk about taking it themselves. Sometimes they might only reevaluate their commute when they move houses. Most who drive are not going to suddenly stop because a train line opened.

    • @thegreentimtam
      @thegreentimtam 3 місяці тому +7

      In fact, this is why the stations are in the "middle of nowhere". As people take residence/employment in the new development around the station, they can immediately build their habits around the train.

    Hey Transport of Perth if the 6-car A series train can go to Yanchep does this mean it can go all the way to Manduarh.

      @@Calamari-m8d I don't think so, there are much longer high speed sections which are not suitable for it. It's been going to Yanchep almost every week but not to Mandurah.

    Question, how do you Identify the carriage number?

    • @TransportofPerth
      @TransportofPerth  2 місяці тому +1

      @@atomixgamess The carriage number is simply the first digit of the number written on the trains. It is either 2 or 3 on A-series, 4, 5 or 6 on B-series, and any number 1-6 on C-series. The remainder of the numbers after the carriage number are the set number of the train referring to the specific unit, with 1-48 being A-series, 049-126 being B-series, and 127+ being C-series.

    Do you know what rail cars will run on the Armadale line when its finished? Will it get new trains or use the existing ones?

    • @TransportofPerth
      @TransportofPerth  3 місяці тому +1

      @@davelazenby77255 It will still have many A-series since they are short on Bs and still not all platforms will be able to take Cs yet. It will probably be the last line to still be running As, although you might see an occasional B, and also C-series on Stadium runs down the Thornlie-Cockburn Link.

    It's weird that it's the same female announcement for the next station except for Yanchep and doors closing. What times does the A Series trains generally run up to and from Yanchep? Did you notice the changes of the announcements at train stations also telling us not only just what platform but when the next train arrives from Clarkson to Yanchep?
