I agree with you older country music is wonderful. I'm in my 40's
Grew up on 90's country and listen to stuff older than that too.

I saw him in concert a few years back at one of the casinos near me. He pulled a cruel trick on us. He said the band wasn't able to make it and he didn't feel he could sing his hits without them. i'm thinking, "What?!" Then the lights went out and when they came on the full band was there and he started with "Summer's Coming" He sang all his hits including this one. What a way to put on a show.

I saw him in concert and he did the same but legit gave the band the "night off" they proceeded to rock for 2 hours just him and his guitar. Incredible talent.

Why can't people who listen to country music from the 1980s-today realize how ridiculously lame and corny it is? Why can't they realize its just a bunch of millionaire metrosexuals singing rural nouns and adjectives who are pandering to people who are too stupid to figure that out?

I was a young airman, beginning a 2-year stint in Turkey for the Air Force. Izmir was a much brighter assignment with Clint's music and this is the song that first attracted me to his music. Bought that album and listened to it regularly. Strangely, some Turks saw me wearing a black cowboy hat and listening to Clint's music on my apartment veranda one afternoon and I received shouts of "Marlboro Man" from the street in Alsancak! After that, I was wearing my hat on the street and the Turks asked me about my music and how they could get it. I gave them Clint's name and his album information. I spoke almost no Turkish and they spoke almost no English but somehow I'm sure that several of his albums made their way to Izmir, Turkey in 1993 and '94!

He could’ve been the top guy for a long time but didn’t want to succumb to the record labels that wanted him to sound like everyone else. Still writes, produces, and plays lots of the instruments on the tracks. Tours a lot still. Seen him 6 times the last five years and booing one for this summer. I live on the coast and work on a boat but this song takes me straight back to my childhood growing up in the country surrounded by cows, cotton, and working the garden with my grandparents. The late 80s/early 90s is what country music should be. This is what was on the radio during my childhood instead of the bro country crap of today.

If you don't remember the climax of amazing music and the best music ever got in America then I feel so sorry because the one element that will never leave my body is the clean sharp memory of 1992 and the music that molded my mind... from Rock to rap to Country 1992 produced the best-of-the-best...
