Because he was probably saying things he wasn’t allowed to.
It is to take your mind captive.
nicely done wsj, i cant hear a thing
My husband was a quadriplegic for eight years befor he passed. He had a MAC computer. There was a metallic dot on his glasses which was read by the camera turning it into a mouse. He also had naturspeeking. He was able to do anything, Netflix, engineering drawings, Skype etc. worked great for him as it opened the world to him again. Congratulations and continued good work.

Awesome! Although I'm still trying to figure out the connection btwn the magnet and the camera and how it all worked. Is there a name for this? Perhaps I can Google. Sounds fascinating.
Yeah. It would be great to know the details of how it works. Updates, please.

WOOOW “not a big technical leap”. If you listen to the keynote, the guy is ecstatic, he looks forward to life every day now, and has achieved much more than this.
Looked forward now? Barely? Took a chip? Stephen Hawkin accomplished a lot with a wife he cheated on without a chip in his brain
this is literally a huge step toward technological implants, WE ARE LITERALLY HEADING TOWARDS CYBERPUNK AT THIS POINT!
So close we might be at cyberpunk level by 2050-65.
The god of the Neom has risen.
No we are heading to 666 chip wake up !!
No we are heading towards 666 chip wake up !
They already did this 20 years ago in '04
WSJ is a joke..."Not a big technical leap"..ok, but at least explain the significance of this. Its like saying the Iphone wasnt a breakthrough because touch screens werent new.
They just have to say snarky things because of their hate for Elon Musk. It's so strange
Except that everybody like new phones. nobody wants a chip and ESPECIALLY NOT a brain chip.

*No way! Hold my beer"
The news is kinda misleading
Neuralink helped him move a cursor not play the game of chess by thinking for him .
I would have loved a kind of explanation on how it actually works
There are videos coverings that, multiple actually. This is about the patient trial.
In short it reads brainwaves an uses ai to figureout the users intentions so the more they use it the better it works as far as im aware thats how it works
Neuralink has a x page and a YT account where they post updates, you won’t find unedited information from corporate media.
Periodic electromagnetic emissions of neuron activation in certain frequency bands with some special characteristics are received by a sensor implanted over the brain. Huge amounts of data are collected, filtered and sent to feed a neural network trained by the patient who also trains how to "think properly" to move the cursor. (my 4 years of research ina nutshell)
Dude in the black looks like he has a gun to the dudes head 😂
Why is this the most annoying audio ever? This is WSJ??
WSJ's weird, obsessive dislike for Musk clouds any sort of judgement. Amazing breakthrough.
What?
All they said was that it wasn't a huge leap in the tech because it has been done 20 years ago. Which is true

How is this not bigger news??
Because Elon sux and we have to minimize everything he does.

I am happy for this man, but I am still skeptical. You know Neuralink will evantually be used to send ads directly to your brain at some point. Also, I worry about any corporation having direct control over my thoughts. No thank you.
Imagine going from not being able to move from your arms down to being able to control a computer with your mind. It must be liberating.
NEXT THING IS A Electric arm.
Imagine the dude behind camera with a mouse to play chess and pretend its his mind... crazy huh?
Except transhumanism is not liberating for the human race, it's a technocracy. And they will slowly push people into their tech prisons by fooling them into thinking they are somehow better off.

So he played the London System? nah, that's not chess
I am so proud that this works now, Thank you all so much

So many questions like why does this video looks like it was filmed on a T-Mobile Sidekick someone had in a drawer since 2009.
Where is the data? white papers? Peer research? No? Just a janky video that someone couldn't even be bothered to turn it horizontal to film? SCIENCE!
Guys, don't be stupid.
Helping people live better lives. That's the dream of technology, truly. It's an iterative improvement over the 2004 innovation but I'm sure the first of many and those iterative improvements add up to a lot! Well done Neutalink team!
Bill Gates saved millions of lives. Neurolink allowed one rich person to play digital chess lol
@@authenticlore8124This is the first ever implant! And with neuralink advancing, more and more disabled people will be able to do stuff they normally wouldn’t! Such as hopefully controlling bionic body parts using the brain in the future! Now wouldn’t that be cool? (And very helpful)
There seems to be an error in the clip. The audio has been covered up by music.
Starting of Cyberpunk
Amazing, should explore implants for connecting nerves for specific body parts for paralysis patients
That's on their roadmap. And if you use Neuralink in the visual cortex, you can restore sight to the blind, which is also something they're working on.
Note: DON'T start thinking they really care about anyone. People are being used for Nefarious (evil) purposes, in the long run. IMPLANTS Can and are already being manipulated and have for many years. Of course the creators want to help some people to prove what they say they can do, but in the end those who have the implants will be controlled as their guine pigs, mice, rabits and monkes already are.

The next step is using a 3D VR headset and control all these games with the power of the mind. Instead of using a small laptop screen.
This technology vice versa would be great too, injecting the visuals of 3D game worlds or a full AI companion directly into the brain. Too bad that this one awesome sci-fi technology called holograms can never become real, but VR headsets (or in the future VR or augmented reality contact lenses with tiny OLED screens build directly into the contact lens) are at least close to holograms.
I can tell you are completely sucked into the propaganda of Neuralink. Why bother leaving your chair to do anything anymore? Why bother living in the real world?

Great job to the WSJ for further minimizing a great achievement that they themselves would not be able to accomplish if life stood still for them waiting to succeed.

You need to get that fixed by a doctor first. Intrusive thoughts are a brain gone funky
@justaperson9155 absolutely not true, everyone has intrusive thoughts, theyre completely normal. However, he's playing games like chess and Mario Kart not driving a real car or doing anything that could be potentially dangerous with his brain so the intrusive thoughts probably don't even get registered

Happy for his success, step by step there is hope for humans with disabilities.
More very rich, big companies and governments should be helping those in need and solving world problems instead of power grabbing, lining their own pockets and living self absorbed, lavish lifestyles.
