    as a fellow brown girl, do you find that brightening products ever lighten your skin? that’s a fear of mine, especially with Korean brands (which is why i haven’t tried them yet, but i’m very interested).

    • @MissDarcei
      @MissDarcei  6 років тому +259

      Rosie Clark No I haven't experienced anything like that. My skin may be brighter but not whiter if that makes sense.

    • @Moi_81
      @Moi_81 6 років тому +85

      No they don't with Korean due to regulations. But stay away from stuff from other parts of Asia.

      What I’ve noticed and experienced with Korean skincare is that when it says “whitening” it means “brightening”. I don’t think they are allowed to sneak add actual whitening products to skin products that are not specifically labeled a whitening product. That’s all I know about it though.

      MissDarcei thank you!! that makes total sense, i just bought way too much skincare, but once i get through it a little, i think i’ll try some of these items you’ve suggested

    Damn.. my skin used to look like this but in America the matte look is known as the way to go and ppl used to say my skin always looked "oily" when really, my skin just naturally reflected easily in light and didnt have any oilyness to it at all. I worked hard to achieve the normal matte skin that was trendy here in America but now that dewy is in I miss how my skin used to be :/

      Milly Pantoja omg I can relate to this so much !!! I have very oily skin and I hated it I would do everything to be matte but when I got into Korean skincare 1 year ago I started being in love with the natural dewy looking skin glass. Unfortunately where I live it’s the same as you, dewy skin will look oily for people here so it’s quite a dilemma 😂

    The #1 thing if you want that healthy glass skin is consistency! Good skincare products are one thing, but if you don’t keep up with that hustle your skin will never get there.
    I also use the klairs juiced serum! I mix four drops in some gel based moisturizer at night and I’ve seen some amazing results!

  • @j-park6955
    @j-park6955 6 років тому +4

    I would like to advise you on something. In my situation, I use the foam cleaner after rinsing my face with warm water 20 times. Two drops are enough to make plenty of bubbles and then applying to your face like how you would with a bar of soap is how you do it. After rinsing it off, use soap to clean off any excess. The foam cleanser's "position" is between oil makeup remover and soap, so you have to use the oil makeup remover first, rinse it off, then use the foam cleanser, rinse it off, and then use the soap to finish it off. Another thing: after this process and drying your face with the towel, use the scrub right after. Gently apply it while your skin is still moist. If it's dry when you do it, you'll damage your skin.
    Other than that, I hope my suggestion helps you! And also, I really think your videos are funny.

    That cleanser broke me the fuck out! I used it for a week and my face was red and itchy with patches of rashes on it. I used to love Korean skincare but that shit scared me! The toner was okay for me for about a month. Then that broke me out. I used to support Wishtrend until I interviewed and ask them do they have expanding deeper tones in makeup since Kbeauty was getting popular with Americans and as a poc I would like to try some of the foundations etc. They said basically no. Expanding shade range was not a concern in the future. So....my brown butt gonna stay with natural skincare.

      Phire Tiger well the reason is called Korean skincare/makeup is because it's targeted towards to Koreans and most koreans are pretty pale so it's obvious that they're going to be shades for them if you are poc go towards international brands for ex. NARS they have many shades of foundations

    The white is definitely product. Dead skin cells will look grey to black. It doesn't do it twice because of less available skin to react to. Not sure how to explain. Your skin is already full of the product so less available for reaction.
