@TheHawaiiVacationGuide there was one but we can't remember the name. It was down by the end of Ali. Had the 'street corn unicorn '! Absolutely great food!
@@TheHawaiiVacationGuide Street corn unicorn. Can't remember the name of the restaurant. It was down by the end of Ali'i ( sp) drive. Absolutely delicious food ! Over looks the bay where all the boats take off for dinner cruises.
I’ve watched all of your big island videos. I also purchased your big island Wayfinder guide. you’ve given me some great ideas to plan my upcoming trip to the big island over Labor Day week. I did the same thing when I went to Oahu and watched all of your Oahu videos and got the Oahu Wayfinder guide and it was so helpful and I maximized my trip. Thank you for providing such great content.
wow! Thanks so much Luke! I'm glad we could help with your trip planning. We appreciate the support by grabbing our itineraries. Enjoy the Big Island over Labor Day! so close.
Absolutely loved Kona! We travelled from Ireland last January we loved it so much we are going back next January! Ali'i Drive market is fantastic, lots of great stalls, coffee and food. Big shout out to Kona Wave cafe for excellent acai bowls 😊
For any folks wanting to find some exceptional poke, I HIGHLY recommend Hōnaunau Poke Shop, about 20 minutes south of Kailua-Kona on Highway 11. Very close to Captain Cook. We went there immediately following our kayak/snorkel trip to Captain Cook Monument. It was some of THE best food we had on our entire trip! (Bonus tip: for you spice lovers, I recommend ordering the Spicy Garlic Poke. It definitely packs a punch! 🔥)
Hi! My husband and I just got here and I am overwhelmed with the abundance of coffee farms! I can only see one, please just tell me which one is gonna check Off all the boxes! Free would be preferable… but really don’t mind paying!
Thanks! I did already see this but I was wondering if you had to choose one? Also, I watched a video where you visited Rooster coffee farm, what do you think?
Visited the Kona market 3 different days in May. Please give a shout out to Shaka Tacoz! Simply cheaper and tasty! Ya'll and your videos take us and make us want to go back ! Mahalo!
Hello! I'm working on plans for my husband and I to visit Kona (1st trip!) in April for his 40th! Will will also be leaving our three kiddos (5-10y old) for the first time- but with my parents so we know they will be just fine! We really want to stay somewhere with a calm and sandy beach! Recommendation? We love coffee and can't wait to visit the small farms!
Congrats on the trip with just the two of you! Waikoloa and the Kohala Coast have a lot of great resorts. See this article on Waikoloa vs Kona: thehawaiivacationguide.com/kona-vs-waikoloa/ We share our favorite resorts and reviews here: thehawaiivacationguide.com/stay/ I hope that gets you started!
That is a great question! If it comes from a Kona Farm then it is. Coffee only has to be 10% Kona beans to be called Kona coffee. And, some companies lie resulting in Kona farmers winning some large settlements in the last year. Hawaii legislator is passing laws to increase the minimum to 50% or more. It is a big, local issue.
We love all the recommendations viewers are leaving in the comments! Leave your favorite Kona Coast restaurant or shop. Mahalo!

Thanks for sharing the tip! There are some wonderful poke shops in Kona.
Fun packed video.
I am not a big fan of the big island but your video makes me want to visit again.
haha, Kona sells itself pretty well. I like the lush tropical vibe up on the side of the mountain.
You should! The other people who have told me that they weren't impressed missed all the good stuff because the island is BIG!
Love the Kona coast!
It has a lot to do and great views.

Monarch Coffee is good. Rooster was great coffee and a more rustic experience. You can’t go wrong. Do a couple. They are close to each other.
We used discount Hawaii rental web to book our car and checking back before leaving, saved half of rental price. Thanks for the trick!!
That’s the trick! Well done on checking rates again. With the shoulder season upon us, there are deals out there.
Don't forget to go see Emmerich at Captain Cook Trading Company...a local treasure
Thanks for sharing the local business!
Coffee yes please.
Good way to start a Sunday morning
Excellent breakfast
It’s a classic

Kohala coast is the place - and although Jordan and Erica don't like the Mauna Kea Beach resort because they have kids, w/o kids it's the best.

Is the Kona coffee that you order from Amazon, actually from Hawaii?
