Hey Mike, thank you so much for having me on your Booth Junkie show, brother. It was a blast and a half to hang out with you and talk demos and loads more. Dude, you are just THE coolest and I LOVE what you do and so do your loyal followers. :)

Chuck is such a pure soul. I’m already working toward getting my next commercial demo from him later this year. If you haven’t watched his videos, I can’t recommend it enough. Thanks for sharing, Mike!
Thank you for what you do Mike! I've been hearing some buzz about the Cad E40 which might be a great bang for your buck microphone. Please review it if you can for us broke ass artist folks
This is a FANTASTIC video, Booth Junkie! I've been following Chuck and Stacey for years, they have had some incredible artists on their show, and I've taken away so much information from them. Not only is he a warm and engaging personality, but is also so knowledgeable about demos, and how to get the best takes out of the voice actor. Well done here! :)
Fantastic interview. Two legends chatting. I gave one question: I didn’t have the money to buy the Sennheiser 416, so I bought it’s little brother the mke 600. What are your thoughts on the difference between the two?
Great discussion gentlemen! Glad you talked about VO not being a get rich quick scheme. Sadly there are so many people out there advertising VO as a make tons of money from home with just this gear to people who just don't know better.
Great interview guys. I was fortunate enough to cut my Promo Demo with Chuck & Stacey last year , and even more lucky to have the whole remote recording session featured on #VOBuzzWeekly as part of thier "Demo Spotlight". The whole experience is something i will never forget & be eternally grateful for. Chuck & Stacey are amazing to work with, total professionals, so cool & made the whole recording process seemless............The end product landed me my LA agent & me winning "Outstanding Promo Demo - Best Voiceover" at the prestigious Society of Voice Arts & Sciences Awards (SOVAS) in Los Angeles in Dec 2022.......... Thank for the compliment and very cool post/comment Mark. I need to give you some love back because as people will see when they check out your spotlight video of us recording your demo, you my friend are nothing short of an amazing talent. Your passion and love for your craft shines bright. 👍🙏👍
Mike, you're the one that got me started in this whole VO career thing, and Chuck you are just awesome to listen to and feels like that you've been a long time friend. Both of you guys thank you so much for your time and expertise! It is invaluable! 😏
This dropped the same day as VO Booth Camp's Booth2Booth George Whittam interview. The two videos compliment each other beautifully. I have a 416T and a little Soundcraft Notepad 12FX mixer with an asynchronous 2.5kHz EQ mid band. If I want the 416 to sound like a 'regular' mic (e.g. for character voices), I turn the 2.5kHz band down -3dB. The characteristic 416 sound disappears, and then sounds like a regular, high quality condenser.
I also used a weird plugin by Airwindows, called Focus, to sweeten a cheap shotgun, and ran a blind test v the 416T to see if some other VOs could tell which was which. A few could not.
@@vobuzzweekly it's an unknown plugin because documentation is minimal, but it bumps the ~5kHz region (a parameter controls how narrow it is, the sweet spot was about 0.3 iirc) by a variable amount using one of five different saturation types. It's a great way to breathe life into flat mics. And it's free, though I'd like to throw some cash Chris' way if it earns me any.
This was amazing, I love both of these guys. I’m inspired to really jumpstart my voice over career. Thank you both for the time and education on this industry
Holy cow!! Booth Junkie & VO Buzz Weekly have been my two Go-to sources for all things Voiceover. Before getting coached and building my home studio, I learned sooooo much from you two. Mike’s channel was essential in guiding me from a Novice VO Artist to now having it be my full time income from my Home Studio. Also, I’m rocking the Synco D2 over here, so thanks for that advice Mike; engineers ask me all the time if I’m on the 416, and most days I just say “Yes.” Pro Engineers can’t even tell! And Chuck and Stacey made walking into my first Demo Sessions and Studio Bookings a breeze. I’ve burnt through so many interviews on VO Buzz weekly, and the knowledge even helped me break the ice with a few of their guests, such as Agents and Casting Directors. Thanks Mike and Chuck for the endless (FREE) guidance you provide in demystifying this ever-changing industry. You guys Rock! 🎸 🎙️ 🤯

I definitely got caught by a “professional voice acting” company that ultimately messed me over. That alone has made me more afraid to get into voice over again.
Anyone know why I'm getting crackling on Zoom, and not when actually recording something? Checked audio settings got new mic cable as well still doing it
Fantastic interview, Mike! Chuck is just the best. I am very fortunate to have just had my pre-production meeting with Chuck earlier this week... and set a recording date for a commercial demo and a promo demo. Blessed and excited! Chuck is the real deal! Best in the business, hands down... Thanks again, Mike for a great interview and all your great content (especially for a voice artist using Reaper!) over the years. 🤘

I have been following both of you, and this, was, gold! 👍 And also a little frustrating because there are so many bloody things I want to address and ask, and I can't. Random thoughts: 1. Fantastic questions and great insight from both. 2. Source Connect - perhaps some love on that topic when you have the time. 3. I'm 47 and entering VO, and that's a huge issue I've come across. There are wonderfully generous people like yourself sharing fantastic info, but how do we practice without spending an arm and a leg? 4. The mics we own are eventually going to matter more for Marketing and clients' perceptions. I truly believe that. I've heard incredible reads on a Rode NT1-A and as a Creative Director, I only found out after we had decided on the talent, that they had in fact used a USB Rode. It's a shame. Looks _do_ matter! The brand of the mic _will_ matter at one point. Hope the studio is coming along well, and again thank you!
