The DIY LG Stylo 2 repair tools used in this video can be found here: www.fixez.com/...
Step 1
Power down your LG Stylo 2 smartphone.
Step 2 (LG Stylo 2 S Pen Stylus)
Smoothly remove the LG Stylo 2 S Pen.
Step 3 (LG Stylo 2 Rear Battery Cover, Battery and Nano-SIM)
Easily remove the Stylo 2 rear battery cover. No tools necessary!
Extract the 3000 milliampere-hour (mAh) LG Stylo 2 battery.
Slide out the Nano-SIM card.
Step 4 (LG Stylo 2 Exterior Midframe)
Remove the following 11 Phillips screws.
Use the triangle opening tool to work around the LG phone and free the exterior midframe.
Step 5 (LG Stylo 2 Loudspeaker)
Eradicate the Stylo 2 loudspeaker from the midframe.
Step 6 (LG Stylo 2 Rear-Facing Camera and Front-Facing Camera)
Remove the 13-megapixel Stylo 2 rear-facing camera.
Spudge up the 5-megapixel LG Stylo 2 front-facing camera.
Step 7 (LG Stylo 2 Motherboard)
Disconnect the display cable and then lift out the Stylo 2 motherboard.
Step 8 (LG Stylo 2 Earpiece Speaker, Vibrator and Headphone Jack)
With the tweezers in hand, pluck out the Stylo 2 earpiece speaker, vibrator and headphone jack.
Step 9 (LG Stylo 2 Display Assembly)
Peel the display cable up from the midframe.
Begin to free the 5.7-inch Stylo 2 LCD assembly by using the heat gun to warm up the adhesive.
With the precision knife, carefully create separation and insert a playing card to start slicing through the adhesive securing the display to the interior midframe.
Take your time and apply additional heat as needed.
Once you have sliced through the adhesive, be mindful of the display cable when decoupling the LG Stylo 2 screen from the frame.
* To reassemble your device, follow the steps in reverse order.
I have personally removed and installed digitizer on a tablet and a smartphone so I have experience. But this is different. This is an operation!!!
This was a wonderful video. Thank you!
Great show... Now if only you had the parts at your store. It currently says no parts available for the lg stylo 2...
This was UNBELIEVABLY smooth. Replaced screen glass & digitizer for the Stylo with their equip in tandem with this video. Inaugural smartphone glass replacement attempt and it was a resounding success
Happy to hear that your repair was successful. Thanks for watching.
Fixez.com can you tell me why my sound won't work now.. ? How do I fix it.
Fixez.com Is it Possible to have pixles when you zoom in with the Stylo 2 phone camera?
did u remove the camera s and head phone jack so those small part would not get damaged?
is this just a glass screen or do you have to get the one with the digitizer?
It is best to buy the screen with the frame....it was maybe $20 more than the glass screen but much easier. I took the speaker loose which was later told in comments not to. Guess what..my speaker did not work afterwards. BUT. I was able to get good advice from a repair shop and didn't cost me. When you put the speaker back in make sure you have the gold tape looking connectors that do not come loose when you remove the speaker from old glass frame. Very Important!
xXMr L3G3NDXx hey my speaker doesnt work anymore could you tell me in details how you fix it
I did manage to bring the circuit tape over to my new frame, but I still have no sound. Is there something specific that I need to make sure it's touching? Thanks...
Jeigh Neither hi when youre buting back youre speaker there are to metal hooks or bumps coming out of the speaker make sure there thocing the connectors to the mother board correctly and make shure the tape is not covering the motherboard were the. conector and the motherboard thoch. if you can turn on you're phone while the back is off then put on playing while you take out the speaker and rub it against the connectors untill you hear sound. hope this helps
Awesome Gus! Thanks for taking the time to answer that question for me; I will break it back down and try it out. I'll keep you posted ;) Que amable; mucho gracias!
Well... I did have the speaker in backwards, but the tape is exactly where it was before. I'm not sure what you meant about taking the batter out; I'm on a Stylo Two Plus, so maybe it's different. I have a cover that goes over my mother board, and the phone won't start without it being in place... which means I can't reach the battery. Oh well, I guess I need to go get a bluetooth headset : / Thanks for your help though! Oh, and it is vibrating now, when it wasn't before, lol, that's a little progress!
Removing the speaker is not necessary. It will mess your sound up. Be careful. Don't do it.
Tasha Gang it happened to me only before I read your post and now my speakers don't work!!! Was fairly easy to replace glass..any suggestions on the sound or am I screwed now!
xXMr L3G3NDXx your output sound won't work. you can still make calls but listening to. music you gotta do with headphones. honestly I was told to get a new phone because a new ear piece is worth half the phone and the phone is already cheaply made. u just use earphones for now.
Tasha Gang does replacement screen come with adhesive on it already
bryan mendez no I had to buy adhesive as an extra
Thank you for the feed back
Any idea how to fix the speaker or what I may have done? All I know is it wont work now but the glass replacement worked!
do you have to take the little things i just want to replace cracked scree
would you do one on how to just replace the outer glass of the phone
Glass only repairs require specialized machinery and are out side the scope of our repair videos.
UNA CHIMBA, ME SIRVIÓ DEMASIADO :)
does the replacement screen come with the adhesive already?
Thanks, but I'm a lazy sack of shit so I'll just get a new one
With so many complaints of this tutorial destroying your sound, why is this video still in the web? Shouldn't you guys (being professionals and all) take this shit down?
very easy ot follow tutorial
+Jason Prather Thanks for watching.
I was excited about this until I found out that you don't sell the parts for this phone.
Speaker no longer works. Don't take off speaker.
QuackShop true mines got fuck up
Easy fix if like me you took the speaker out only to put it back and finish reassembling the phone to find out now there is no longer sound. So take apart the phone again if u look at the speaker there are two small clasps on the speaker they have to lay exactly on the copper sticker chip. Just make sure when u put the middle cover on it everything is aligned snap the bottom on first.
How do you remove the microphone? where it is located?
"Eradicate the speaker?" 😂😂 If you have to remove it at all, why not just put it off to the side? You're gonna need it later. 😂😂😂
i tried this but the screws are too tight from when i bought it
how many degrees of the heat gun ??
The heat gun used is non-adjustable. We go buy feeling the glass while heating. It should be uncomfortable to the touch but not hot enough to burn you or melt the plastic.
+Fixez.com if i only have a small tiny crack in the corner should i fix the lcd also or should i just buy glass?
+Fixez.com and when you put the phone back together was that a new glass screen? and how can i attach the lcd to it
what is the red adhesive roll for? you mention it as one of the tools needed, but you Don't use it in the tutorial
It's the adhesive we use to adhere the display back into the frame. At 7:30 we show removing the red backing from the adhesive.
Where is the atennna located
what about the lg stylo 2 plus
+Jose Carrillo We will put it on the list. Thanks for the recommendation.
Did you all every put the lg g stylo 2 plus on the list
It's basically the same. I did this job on a Stylo 2 plus. You have to be careful to remove the speaker circuit tape and add it to the new frame in either phone.
Would this work for Lg Stylo 2 Plus?
yes, basically the same, just make sure you have the right parts for your phone. Mine had to come from China...
why did you have 2 eradicate the loud speaker?
Travis Milkos Tasha Gang this tore my sound up ..it happened to me only before I read your post and now my speakers don't work!!! Was fairly easy to replace glass..any suggestions on the sound or am I screwed now!
that happened to me too, but I never touched the loud speaker, don't know what to do now
...
my screen is cracked from I just heat up the adhesive and tear the glass off the lcd
i got my mic wet i dont know how to fix it. plz i need an answer soon cuz i speak with phone a lot
The mics on this phone are soldered onto the motherboard. The replacement of these is beyond the scope of these videos.
just replace it ,,,,,,, working like cream
If I'm blind can I do this
Bob Backlund maybe
Why are they making screen glass thinner and thinner? Seems stupid way of saving cost if they'll be breaking more easily...
One thing to know here guys.. never ever, ever ever, yank components out by their ribbons..
he skips the most important part!!!
My screen came as just a screen. No cable attached. The video shows him remove the old screen (with cable) and then install a new screen that already has a cable. Am I supposed to get a screen with cable?? or am I to reattach the cable?? How do i reattach it? do I need a special adhesive? There is no attachment on the new screen.
Since this is a video about replacing the screen he SHOULD SHOW THE PART ABOUT REPLACING THE SCREEN not just leading up to it and then afterwards.
Big FAIL !!!
I've done this procedure but I'm lost on what you mean by 'cable"... and do you just have the screen, or do you have the screen with the frame?
