I appreciate a genuine day in the life video. Most of us non influencers do the best we can and seeing you struggle with it is a positive! Fueling the unit is priority and not necessarily a one size fits all!
I get that, but I am surprised an athlete of his ranking hasn't sorted out his nutrition to the details. Guarantee his other competitors have.. gotta get every edge you can these days
workout with ur swim bro, that must be ur utmost priority in the whole universe. imagine, even if u are 1-2 mins behind swim leg, u r still have the fastest and strongest leg in bike and run. prioritized swim now!
Do you think all kind of calories are the same? In terms of weight control, I understand that approach, but in terms os being healthy, sorry but no. In terms of perfomance, seeing you perfoming so well, I have no comments.😁
@@firminodias4419 yes I agree ☝️. I think there is big difference in what can eat when burning over 7,000 calories a day. For example if burning less I would say would be quite important to cut out all the junk
@thank you for replying. I also understand what you are saying, but you can get all those calories eating healthy. Specifically because all the nutrition we take when in training and racing are already so much processed and full of sugars for example.
@@firminodias4419 eating only healthy food at those calories would be very unpleasant, you would be eating the whole day to get calories in and be stuffed at the same time because they have more volume.
That is about double as many calories as I consume but then again I am not a pro triathlete 😄 I am not a dietary expert either but maybe get some fruit into your diet instead of some of those snacks. Fresh apples, pears, a banana, or maybe some dried fruit like dates, raisins and apricots, and why not some nuts too. They taste good and will be of much more benefit to you than the sugar snacks from the store.
@@bawags300_svt8 it will be close enough - multiply avg power by seconds ridden = calories expended assuming a 25% efficiency, which is pretty high, so it's conservative.
@@NateNewton-z3j that’s actually not really true. I put put strong performances all year with an Ironman win in September and my race in Las Vegas was still quite good.
Learning with the pros not with influencers!!!
There is not much difference between the two if they are both sponsored

Seeing the day-to-day life is just as inspiring as all the excellent races Sam had this year!! A champ at home and a champ on the course.

Great video!!
I would love to see you try and get in another 50 - 100 grams of protein per day 😊

Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
Love you bro ❤
I want to know your calorie count for today (Thanksgiving)! I feel like I might have you matched, but not nearly as many burned.
Love the videos but can you please add 4K video? It's only 1080p and on the TV it's a bit grainy
Another solution would be to downgrade your tv 😂
Protein and macro break down next video! All calories are not the same, grams of protien per day per lbs of body weight
Endurance athletes don’t care too much for protein. I imagine the breakdown would be 60% carbs, rest protein and fat

People should focus on training more rather that eating less . You are the example of Being lean and eating a lot .

I’d be surprised if your bmr is 4k. More like 2k-2200. But your NEAT is probably another 500-1000 so btw bmr + neat=3k.
@@sabra31 I probably used BMR in the wrong technical sense. I guess I meant my daily expenditure minus calories I burn in training

1500 cals in a 90 minute bike? 1000 cals/hr is insane!
