God bless you guys for caring so much and making such lovely houses for these little ones.💗 I'm sure they appreciate, and love you guys more than they can convey.
That's awesome! Thank you for sharing. I wish I'd watched this video before I spent $300 and a full weekend building a three story feral cat condo that took two of us strong guys to move into place. On the plus side, my feral cats do use it, especially in winter, and it protects them from the local coyotes, raccoons, hawks, great horned owls, cougars and bobcats. At least the bears ignore the cats. 🙂
What a great bloke you are, all happy there with your cat houses! If only everyone was as kind as you are. Thanks for making the lives of all those cats much, much better.
Very cool but cats can't jump from a step up when they're underneath the next one, steps on the side going up but across would help a great deal. The very bottom needs to be off the ground or more insulated as water and shoe will get in over time even with the spare of insulation. Just a thought.
What lovely cat houses - you could easily sell some of these, I am sure there will be a high demand. Not many people are so talented to build such nice ones. All the best for you and your family and animals, kindest regards from Spain
I was wondering how they would jump up to get in...nice...a shelf. This made me want to make them...but I don't have tools or a shop. So neat-o Thanks for caring about them
Right on man. I've got to do this for a couple of my cats. For some reason they love to be outside on the coldest days, but you can tell they wish they had a warmish spot sometimes. I've got to keep my predators happy.
Absolutely fantastic design. I love the effective insulation and above all the stackability which enables flexible expansion or contraction of the over all size, and adapt to whatever area is available. I will build this. Thanks for sharing.
While they are obviously building extremely well by a very capable friendly carpenter (who obviously loves his wife), they don’t have easy access to the interior for adding straw or blankets or self-heating pads or just general maintenance cleaning for spiders, bees, etc. who all would love to move in too. They also don’t have rear emergency exits in case a cat is inside when a raccoon or snake or worse yet, a bear decides they want to come in too. Plus, w/o the emergency exits, the house seem like it would be too hot for the cats to comfortable use in warmer months. So, when you get a chance, pop an exit on the back and throw a couple of hinges on the tops so they can be unstacked and the top opened up and then you’ll be ready to mass produce and sell those puppies for big bucks!! ❤
Just staple an old piece of heavy canvas or piece of plastic tarp with a slit in the center of it over the exit and you’ll be good to go. Don’t do any kind of a ledge outside the exit. It needs to be a straight drop down for a smooth getaway and to prevent another animal from using it as a entrance. It’s more difficult to get into if there’s no foothold. Best of luck!
Hey man, thank you so much for sharing this. You are doing gods work! I will now use your video to build some myself, as winter is coming and the homeless critters need a place to sleep. Great work!
SavinABuck : you are marvveellous , another great job for any/all kitten-cats puppies-dogs ! There should be an Association/Federation on people like yourself that do for the betterment of communties . Thank you for sharing the expertise!🐈🐕💖👍👋
Dynamite!! Even insulated the edges of the foam board....Just perfect. I'd love to know where you get the bundles of pallet wood from. I'm from WA State & waiting for the weather to cooperate so we can build our little buddies more proper shelter. Right now they're in insulated bins with straw, under a PVC pipe & tarp "shelter" I rigged quickly. My SO is a finish carpenter so we can do better! Come summer they should be set. Thank you so much for filming your set up, great idea! : ) Hope the kitties are loving it .
All my feral cat has a heated animal pad under the shed and an outdoor cheap cat house with a heated pad which she hardly goes in. Nice work and lucky cats!
Beautiful cats house s strong and solid against all weather s I bet the cat love them nice and cosy in the winter months thankyou for showing our fur babies how much you care😊👍💗
I'll take my inspiration from this for sure, but I'm aiming for something I can access to clean regularly. Bit more complicated.. also a way in and out I'm told is more attractive to cats 👍 many thanks 😊
We have some outside kitties we're looking to do something like this for. We just need one little house. My skills at making stuff out of wood like this are.... low. We have mostly hand tools and a few power tools. Unfortunately no real work bench yet. But we need to make something insulated like this for our Pacific Northwest weather. I was actually hoping to make a roof that had hinges so we could open it up and get to it to make some bedding and stuff inside. So, we'll see how it goes. Most of our wood is just from pallets with one pallet being much nicer thicker wood. Here is to hoping we can figure out what to do. But this gave me a few ideas. :)
Good luck, and I'm sure it will turn out great for you. And learning and building on the fly can also be rewarding just be safe with all hand tools and good luck.
@@SavinABuck45 Thanks man, appreciate it. :) Me and my girl just bought our first house so learning to be a bit more handy with things like this is something we're fully ready to embrace. Haha. I think the cat house is a good place to start.

hello, apart from pallet lumber what other cheap yet durable wood can I use ? it's for my A level dt coursework. thanks
Maybe a 4x8 sheet of t1-11 siding if you can find it on sale may last a long time.
very good

Amazon

I’d love to see a vid of them coming and going. Did you put a blanket or towel inside?
Heated pads for winter weather and small blanket for softness for summer. Thank you for watching.
can the cat get enough air with a door shut.
Yes plenty of airspace and you could always put another door in the rear if live in warmer climates.
What pet door did you use? I've been trying to find a small one like what you used, but the ones I'm finding are all the thickness of a door.
Pet safe was the brand and I ordered all three doors from Amazon and they were the cheapest ones on sale at the time at around 8 dollars a piece. Hope this helps and thank you for watching.

No but it sounds kinda interesting, thank you for watching
I really wish this video was not on fast forward. The project looks good, but it is hard to follow on that speed.
👍👍💗
Nice! But does the cat go to the third floor.? And how..?
Yes, they just jump from house to house on the little platforms . Works out really well they like being up high so they can see everything.
Just letting you know, I am going to "steal" your idea
What are the sizes of them .
They are 20 in square so that's 20 inches wide by 20 inches tall a d 20 inches deep and that will sleep 2 of are cats in each box. I hope this helps and thank you for watching
$30 tops?
Would you build some to sell
Never thought about selling them ,but I just may here in the future,
But how do you clean its inside up?
Well they haven't made any of them dirty but you could reach your hands in the box with gloves on I'm sure and clean them up.
How much for everything would you estimate?
Maybe 20 to 30 bucks with the plastic door for it.
@@SavinABuck45 not bad at all.

how are the cats going to get from one box to the other? no holes in the tops/bottoms. so the top cat has to jump to the top hole to get in?
That was amazing.
Where I live is mostly hot any suggestions? And also alot stray cats
Maybe a non insulated box and for the strays I don't know we get a few every now and again as well.
