I been dreaming of getting a real bender for years and now i need one more than ever. I have been looking at all the options HARD and after seeing the craftsmanship in this. Im getting a model 32 for sure
Bought our model 32 last year right when covid hit. It was nice to stop down and visit for awhile. We had a model 3 before but the 32 has been a great investment!
Great video! Showed me all i needed to know. Anyway, I just bought one, awful expensive here in the uk, but BRILLIANT machine. The quality is unbelievable.. Trust me, you get one of these you will be sooooo pleased. This machine will blow you away, nearly too nice to use!!!!
You need to come up with a tool holder attachment for you pedestal stand so all your tools, wrenches and pins are right there to grab easily. Tossing them on the workbench , putting them in a pocket or tossing them on the floor takes up time to fetch the tool or pin for repetitive jobs. Please come up with a tool/pin holder for the pedestal stand.
Can the basic model 32 be upgraded to the hydraulic if a person decided later that they needed it? Right now I can't see ever needing to bend anything with anything as thick walled as 1/4" or even 3/16" but a person never knows what will happen in the future. Thanks
Yes that is correct, 1/4 Inch is in face .250 BUT square Tubing is thinner hence the .188 wall thickness, Standards vary from manufacturer and the actual standard for a particular size.
.Would like to every CLR die for each size pipe but can't afford that. If there are several different radius's for a given die which CLR would be the best one to cover most bending situations, the smallest CLR, the biggest CLR or if there happens to be more then 2 CLR radius the one in the middle?
@davi200 Sorry, that would be me. I'm Bob. My main job is to design really good machines at the best price possible. As for doing videos, I'm not a professional but I'm the best we have!
Don’t stress even if u did it perfect someone would complain or pick at something else. Your like me and don’t know everything about everything and do everything perfect the first time. I’m just a dumb welder u don’t want me painting your show car. I could do it but u would not win the prize. I wish I was as perfect as 90% of the population. U sure made a great bender so I will let the camera work slide. U got the information across to me and thanks for that.
For those of us who appreciate good engineering, you are the only one we want to hear from. Flashy videos are only good for compensating for lousy products. (UA-cam, why the heck you wait 10 years to suggest this video to me?)
@7:59 cord will get pinched. Then at 9:19 you suggest, remember some are idiots, do something that will cut a finger clean off I would take the suggestions to remak this video Very seriously. Nice machine
i know i hear the air hissing but are you actually using an electric over hydo unit cuz i can here a motor run when bending and all of the air/hydro units ive see sound like there pumping. any they are much slower
You know what... this may not a good video in technical terms, but it convince me! I love USA made products and this particular looks very solid and well made...It looks that i am going to die before the machine, like my snap-on tools.....I hope i find it in Europe...
you talk about 2x2 sqare tube 1/4" wall but your website spec's say Maximum Wall Thickness - .188" what gives//? last i know 1/4 is 0.255 will it bend rectangle tube such as 2x1 x1/8 wall,1-1/2x2" or 1-1/2 x1" - 1/8 or 3/16 wall?
So what I have for the model 32 hydraulic bender is the SPX PowerTeam foot pedal hydraulic pump rated at 10k psi. I'm using a small air compressor with a 6 gallon air tank and it's rated at 125psi. This does the trick for what I do as I usually make a bend, take a few mins to look stuff over, make another bend, and go from there. The hydraulic fluid is AW32 or AW22, the AW stands for "anti wear". Check the manual or give JD2 a call to confirm, I'm sure they will be happy to make sure you're on point.
+Bruce Hudgens Thank you very much.Yes that is what i have also, and what type of hydraulic fluid do you use for it? and do you know if their is a distributor in the Sacramento Ca area. Thanks again and i do enjoy your products.
+Michael Diapoulis not my products, I'm just a garage fabricator. The hydraulic oil I'm using is a regular AW22 light grade hydraulic oil, which is pretty much the same as AW32 according to everything I could find. You should be able to find it at Lowe's or other DIY stores, I think I picked up a few gallons at a Northern Tool store. take care and happy bending.
This looks like a good machine but please do not keep zooming in and losing focus- that was painful to watch- and slow down the talking a bit and switch off the compressor when you want to say something. If you want to sell a machine like this it's worth getting a pro in to do the videoing because otherwise people get turned off. Spoilt a good demo.
Bob, just a thought, I notice on your demo's you throw your tools and stuff on the ground and have to retrieve them later...why not get a bench or table adjacent to your demo area to put them on...your back might thank you :-)
I like this model, with all the dies, not cheap over here in Australia, but I don't think I'd need all the dies, 22.5mm, 25mm and 50mm all in Round and Square, that would be a nice addition to my man cave.
@arnoldcustom I think what he said was 2" dom round tube with a 1/4" wall and 2" square tube with a wall thickness of .188". Two different things. BTW last I heard 1/4" was .250".
The hydraulic Model 32 doesn't come with a pump. Just the cylinder. We offer an air pump with hose for $470 and an electric pump with hose for $895. They are both USA made pumps with a manufacturer warranty of one year.
+JD Squared, Inc. ok so k can do the air pump and set it up with my compressor. Thus for 800 for the bender plus 470 for the pump making it 1270. And haven't touched any dies? But that would be the complete set up?
rcsquirrel17 That is correct. You would have everything you needed except the die sets. Here is a link to the die sets for that machine. jd2.com/c-17-model-32-bender-die-sets.aspx
WOW! Great bender! How much is that machine worth? I live in Canada, how much would that machine cost me at my door? I'm very insterested, just need to know if it's within my budget. Thanks! Cheers!
Holy hell reading half of these comments people have no idea what the hell there talking about. The machine is simple to use, if you cant work this machine then there no way in hell you should even be trying to bend pipe. I have a model 32 that I converted to air of hydraulic works good, a little slow but im in no rush( which is the cylinders fault now the bender). The video isnt to show how good there camera angles are or how they know how to use adobe after effects, its to show how the machine works and the quality of bend it pruduces for how cheap it is. Everything is heavy duty if you wore out the fallowers prematurely you probabilyy running shitty rusty tube through which is your own fault.
In the beginning of the video, when they tried to show the round 2" tubing (terrible filming) that was NO WAY 1/4" wall aka .250 wall... I love my JD2 bender but that wasn't true. Looked like .188w.
I bought the model 32 manual for 1.5" x .163 dom tubing. I was told by the salesman that I could bend this size tubing with NO problem...even at age 64. I'm in pretty good shape, worked construction for 40 yrs....but I can only bend this friggin tubing 10 degrees!......now I need to order the hydraulic cylinder, pump and adapter! WTH?
And don't worry about your camerawork skills, I do it for 15 years and the way you were trying to film it (one take)most probably I would do a bad job too. I see that you used couple of lights, but from what I can see they point way to high (talent) and you want to show the machine.Do an intro wide shot where the talent explains what we're about to see than concentrate on the machine. Move everything away from the wall and light the details your filming, take your time. Good luck :)
Fine American ingenuity. Great job fellas. I wish you all nothing but the best! Regarding video production complaints: What a bunch of nit-picking girls!!! Complaining about video quality? How spoiled can you be? Only a drama queen would complain about this demo! Or any demo! In fact I learned a few things. Nice job.
Just bought one. And this thing is a beast! People should know there abilities!!! I'd hate to see the welds that some of these dip shits put out that are making these stupid comments! Stay out of the shop, machinist room, and your garage for that matter and stick to what you know best which is duct tape and JB weld!
You can improve the future videos easily: tell your talent to slow down (it is not live TV), he is doing it for YOU so when you are aware that the last shot was not good STOP him, redo the shot, change the camera angle to make your video more interesting. As you make these mashines- you know what are the most important parts that need to be shown (potential buyer will want to see em). You're probably worried that if you stop you'll mess the audio- not a problem you can record it separately :)
Dropping tools on the floor, would have been nice if they had prepared for the demonstration. Seemed like they shot this on the fly. Maybe a work table with all the required tools, parts etc... Tripod for a steady shot, not so much zooming in and out. Tool looks ok but why does everybody shooting these videos have to include the word 'Technology' with everything they are selling? It's a tool, if it works well let it speak for itself during the demo. I realize this was uploaded on 2011, perhaps it's time for a new demo with new tools? Better organized, time taken to set things up so that the presenter is not scrambling to find things.
J D Squared would do themselves a great service to have their videos professionally presented.
Looks less like an advertisement this way and actually informative!
rather have the guys that build it explain it
I been dreaming of getting a real bender for years and now i need one more than ever.
I have been looking at all the options HARD and after seeing the craftsmanship in this. Im getting a model 32 for sure
I had a Model 3 for a number of years and it bent 2", 0.120" wall with an extension handle (4' long). Great products.
Bought our model 32 last year right when covid hit. It was nice to stop down and visit for awhile. We had a model 3 before but the 32 has been a great investment!
I have a model 3 which I love but I'm saving up for one of these and the pump. Great work guys.

That was the fastest video I have ever watched... But Sold. Nice job!
Terrific tool in my opinion. Would be a good idea to use a work support with wheels to support the long end(s) of the tubing for one man operation.
Is it possible to upgrade my model 32 MANUAL to hydraulic?
If you buy the 32 can you buy the parts to make it hydraulic later?
I bought one of his first ones, great bender, built many race cars
Can the basic model 32 be upgraded to the hydraulic if a person decided later that they needed it? Right now I can't see ever needing to bend anything with anything as thick walled as 1/4" or even 3/16" but a person never knows what will happen in the future. Thanks
A link to where you can buy these would be great.
Yes that is correct, 1/4 Inch is in face .250 BUT square Tubing is thinner hence the .188 wall thickness, Standards vary from manufacturer and the actual standard for a particular size.
Have one and LOVE it ... Used the hand or manual bender mostly ... just got the hydraulic ram need to install it and try it out.
.Would like to every CLR die for each size pipe but can't afford that. If there are several different radius's for a given die which CLR would be the best one to cover most bending situations, the smallest CLR, the biggest CLR or if there happens to be more then 2 CLR radius the one in the middle?
Good to see it being able to do 1/4" wall. Shame a shifter is required, why not have an arrangement like on the vice for drill presses?
@davi200
Sorry, that would be me. I'm Bob. My main job is to design really good machines at the best price possible. As for doing videos, I'm not a professional but I'm the best we have!
Your benders look fantastic and have great reviews. Hope to get one maybe later this year.

I would take the suggestions to remak this video Very seriously. Nice machine
@@timstrauss9363 Useless comment. You really wasted your time analyzing his video just to talk shit. Youre a fucking loser!
@JaimeeJD2 Well, keep up the great work designing because the bender is fantastic!

i know i hear the air hissing but are you actually using an electric over hydo unit cuz i can here a motor run when bending and all of the air/hydro units ive see sound like there pumping. any they are much slower
hola desde argentina, con kien me puedo poner en contacto para asesoramiento y comparar una???

You know what... this may not a good video in technical terms, but it convince me!

Good morning,
Pls send us the latest price list for an universal set.
Thanks.
Nnyana K Motshwane (Ms)
How well will it bend 2"-1/8" Stanless steel 309 pipe and sqaare tube, if iwill with out kinks we need one
I would prefer if the video had more information on the hydraulics end of the title. Set up, use etc would be useful. I will keep looking.
you talk about 2x2 sqare tube 1/4" wall but your website spec's say Maximum Wall Thickness - .188" what gives//? last i know 1/4 is 0.255

Hello i just bought a 32 hydraulic bender and was wondering what psi air pressure do you need to use for this machine. Thank you
Did you purchase their hydraulic pump along with the bender?
Yes i did and i was also wondering what kind of hydraulic fluid dose it use. /thank you very much
So what I have for the model 32 hydraulic bender is the SPX PowerTeam foot pedal hydraulic pump rated at 10k psi. I'm using a small air compressor with a 6 gallon air tank and it's rated at 125psi. how about hard ACR copper for refrigerant piping up to 1 5/8"

I quite agree! Lost me early on which was a shame.
Good work!!! We also have rich experience in sheet metal fab, we are a strong manufacturer in China, with high quality and competitive price.
I'm looking for a used model 32 with dies for 3/4", 1", 1-1/4" +1-1/2" O.D. tubing. Anyone out there?
sir can your machine can bend half aluminium pipe
This looks like a very nice machine! Are the black steel plates water jet cut?
Achei muito interessante, onde encontro no BRASIL???
you guys should post a link to your website with your videos;)
Bob, just a thought, I notice on your demo's you throw your tools and stuff on the ground and have to retrieve them later...why not get a bench or table adjacent to your demo area to put them on...your back might thank you :-)
Nice bender but lets limit the coffee to maybe only 1 pot a day! Slow down, there's no rush!!
SOLD!! I'll be in touch ;-)
We need to bend tubes Squares 2"x2"x2.6 and 2.9mm of thick and tubes rectangulars on both sides.
Well yes I have to agree with you. Adjustable wrenches do really suck and damage all bolt heads and/or nuts no matter what.
I like this model, with all the dies, not cheap over here in Australia, but I don't think I'd need all the dies, 22.5mm, 25mm and 50mm all in Round and Square, that would be a nice addition to my man cave.

Dear Major, stop the whining.
Sincerely, NAWALT.
Be sure to leave some unbent metal for a tripod next time.
Great product, but but the shaky cam makes it hard to watch.
Anyone selling this model in Canada/Toronto?
good video thanks I just bought one

NICE bender!.... Terrible video quality!
Bender from futurama would be proud
why is the bend radius so big why can you say bend a 2" tube to a 1" radius?
Fine American ingenuity. Great job fellas. I wish you all nothing but the best!
Regarding video production complaints: What a bunch of nit-picking girls!!! Complaining about video quality?
How spoiled can you be? Only a drama queen would complain about this demo! Or any demo! In fact I learned a few things. Nice job.
need to make a new version that does 3" tubing.
good

You take that back what you said about JB Weld! Here in Oklahoma we keep our tooth (I mean teeth) held in with it.
similar to motor exhaust bending
2 inch 14 ga pipe bent, very easy to bend
EXCELENTE

we do not need the hydrolic power pack as we wholesale many sizes and styles
Dropping tools on the floor, would have been nice if they had prepared for the demonstration. Seemed like they shot this on the fly.
Maybe a work table with all the required tools, parts etc...
Tripod for a steady shot, not so much zooming in and out.
Tool looks ok but why does everybody shooting these videos have to include the word 'Technology'
with everything they are selling? It's a tool, if it works well let it speak for itself during the demo.
I realize this was uploaded on 2011, perhaps it's time for a new demo with new tools?
Better organized, time taken to set things up so that the presenter is not scrambling to find things.
