oh that sudden instrument and pitch change at 2:42 with that acid bass making your head shake a little bit, what a damn masterpiece of electronic music composition
@@Xakutor I agree, I should have been more clear as it turns out - not just some of the best ever made but in fact better than their later stuff. IMO up thru Tre Rep is peak, then some interesting stuff, and they lost me at Confield.
Very impressive. Please check what Wojtek Mazolewski and his comrades from Pink Freud did with this piece using brass, bass, and other instrumental lineup characteristic of music that blends alt, rock, and jazz. They recorded the whole album simply called Autechre, mostly live from Montreal. Excellent synergy between the two bands that never played together.
Yes, they have they’re unique style, the same case as Aphex twin and boards of canada. These three bands are like, very different between them, but at the same time they’re music is very innovating, original, and charged with strong emotions.
@@andree2449 and all 3 are clear disciples of Skinny Puppy. It’s annoying that everyone misses that connection. This song is a poppier version of VivisectVI or Last Rights era SP. SP was the template.
Love AE and this track but the critical hype it gets is a tad much. Everything done here had been done before. In fact, I like Autechre and Aphex Twin specifically because they follow in the footsteps of bands I already liked who did this.
One of the best tracks ever made

I'm 58 seconds into this song and it's already the greatest thing I've ever heard
still goes hard 23 years later
As a 23 year old, I feel like I'm listening to something with the same amount of respect I show to myself.
@@JukesMcGee 3 years later and now I'm the 23 year old listening to something with the same amount of respect I show to myself.
@@nameismetatoo4591 2 years later, but I'm actually 32 which is 23 in backwards. Same amount of respect tho.

I wouldn't be as good as a track as this sudden change.
I like how Ae considers their early stuff not that great but this is some of the best electronic music ever made.
Their early work is their best work, imo.

They don't have any idea what's going on
it's not that great compared to their later stuff while still being one of the best electronic music ever made
Masterpiece
+shinawright agreed
+Lord Kip I second that
@@monophone903 +monophone903 I third that
I will love it forever.
Got to see them on this album tour. Still one of my favorite 90s shows.
This songs makes me cry, specially the part of 2:43 :( i love autechre
Incunabula top 5 greatest albums ever.
Overheard by chance in HMV in Oxford a quarter of a century ago, and still scrabbling in my brain.
I don't have any idea about what's goin' on.
27 years later the only thing i know is i still love this song:) geogaddi just showed upon the playlist. blaze away !!!!!!

Same shit,
Absolute belter of a song.
Techno masterpiece
"Dont have any idea about whas gewin onn"... love the idea that even Earth's finest bass cadet couldn't handle this tune XD
One of the greatest AE track , all time classic !
THE Original and Best
That bassline. Those claps. Don have any idea whats goin on.
What can I say... as al their discography it's wonderful. I have to say that my favourite is the LP5, but I love everything.
1993... sounds like something from 10 years ago tops.
Love that this single track evolved into the bass cadet album
That EP was the first thing of theirs I heard, quite by chance. Rearranged my brain a bit. Album version still amazing.
Early Dark AE material. Makes me want to watch the movie Pi by Daren Aronofsky
this is poking a hornet nest and getting away with it

thank you
i wanna make something like this someday
Makes me feel! Great music to be creative - thank you 🚀😻
Legendary ❤️🔥
1993.
Ninety-Three! Always amazes me.
+Keyser Soze I wonder if Kurt Cobain ever listened to this album.
Who fucking cares if he did or not?
Unlikely, unless he had a specific interest in European electronic music. Which he may have... who knows. Nobody's business.
There is no correlation whatsoever between Kurt Cobain and electronic music.
You should listen to their track "Crystel" from 1992.
Memories 🌪
Awesomeness !
banger
nothing can be compared to autechre

I don't have any idea where this vocal originated lol. Some sci fi movie perhaps?
Some people on WATTM say it's from an interview with a random bystander featured on one of Jean Michel Jarre live concert albums.
this one is mine
Like a 2060 year.
Weird song, amazing nonetheless
masakra
it's funny how there's not actually much bass in this song
What? It's shaking my house dude every 3 or 5 seconds it's a loud ass drone it's beautiful

Which bands? 808 State is the only one that comes to mind.
from ae's ep7 to present (elseqs, nts, sign, plus) you're absolutely wrong
This is way too high pitched music
listen to Ventolin by aphex twin
@@possum_divinorum Okay i get it, compared to that this isn't so bad after all. The video on the other hand is so strange.
Back when Autechre made good music...
