I would blame who asked the plasterers to plaster that wall before it was ready, to be fair. Many time I'm told to just plaster it, even though other work is needed first, which becomes frustrating for all
Mate this happened to me in August, the plasterers themselves asked me to come back in just before the 2nd fix to do a few extra bits "before they plastered". I came in on a Wednesday like they asked but on Tuesday they decided to plaster and skim specifically the area I needed to work on. They also pushed all of my cables so far into the ceiling there was no chance of finding them. So without saying a word I pulled out the multitool and went to town on the walls and ceilings while they had to sit back and watch. It's not nice when you've got to be like that but sometimes it's called for and I'm not as patient as you for sure.
For such tasks I keep a bag of old bonding handy as it goes off quickly. It can secure metal boxes and trunking into brickwork without any need for a further fixing screws. Finish the bonding just below the surface and once set it can be carefully filled to match the surface with plaster using a float. A damp sponge in conjuction with a water misting bottle enable the edge to be feathered in almost invisibly. Takes a bit of time but can produce a good result and saves skimming the whole wall. The kitchen in the video might be getting tiled so the finished surface might not have need to be a perfect finish - no doubt the plasterer will be able to quickly skim the wall albeit grudgingly.
The finish on the plaster looked good, but a good plasterer would have looked at the plans and said "the sparks are going to be pissed, best talk to the project manager to check before I waste everyone's time and have to do the work twice"; however if they are hourly - then it's just more hours, "happy days".
@@ChrisTheSparky and I haven't seen a decent sparky till now.. actually I did see1 or 2...maybe you should cut your cables to decent lengths and put them inside the boxes...and where this cannot be achieved tape them together and put a sticker on...people go on sites to earn a living not to spend and hour tidying up your f__king cables!

Yes, been there went to some two storey flats once and all plastered, ended up dropping the cables down the cavity, piece of cake. And in my time (I'm now retired) it was all steel conduit work, proper electrical work, you did well with that one 👏 👍
I know what you mean. They’ve done well with that wall but when you can thread a needle into the middle of the f£&@ing twine then getting the waves out doesn’t seem like it would be that difficult tbh😂
Nothing important but first line of the description there is a error. "he accidentally the wrong kitchen" guessing you mean "plastered the wrong kitchen wall" :)
Plasterer's fuck up (or lack of giving a shit), I'd let him fix it and just rip the back box out and carry on. I'm not a sparky or a plasterer so I wouldn't take my advice from me however.
hey Nick, your thoughts on me starting a company with my mate? work well together on site was thinking about taking the leap, but not sure how to go about it

Exactly
Plasterers only want to start in the room sparks haven’t finished.. it’s the 1st thing they learn on day 1 of muck spreading…
You can see the wet plaster where the back boxes are ( they dry last because of plaster depth ) if you look hard enough, been there seen it done it
Electricians should of put their wiring and sockets inplace before plasterers, lack of communication by client
Love it. When the plasterer has finished heating the spoon up 😂 you are dead right!

We can't read sling mud and make it luck pretty
I did chuckle when I saw Nick chuck his muck in that backbox. I hope no backboxs were harmed in the making of this video.

Loving the banter you're giving plasterers! 😂😂
Why not make use of the back box that was already there? Then fix the others at the same height.

100% Disaster. Got a mate going through the courts currently because of it.
