    Hey bro, I enjoy your low calorie recipes & in particular ice cream videos!
    If I may suggest: try to boil your pasta in a small amount of water (just enough to cover the noodles) & pull the pasta a bit sooner (when it's al dente), do not rinse it, then you will retain all the starches that were washed away - this is the reason sauces don't stick to your noodles. The glue is being diluted in a huge amount of water and also rinsed away. You can get Penne or even spaghetti noodles to cling to sauce with this technique.

    • @RahulKamat
      @RahulKamat  Рік тому +2

      Thanks for the tip dude! I’ve done the small amount of water to cook pasta without draining it for single serve pasta recipes, but never for a big batch. I should try it out!

    • @jesusthroughmary
      @jesusthroughmary Рік тому +3

      Would the same technique work if you boiled the pasta in bone broth instead of water?

    • @lumpyspacecadet
      @lumpyspacecadet Рік тому +2

      Don't you want to wash away the starch of the pasta? You will lower the glycemic load of the pasta if it's cooked longer and rinsed really well. It might take away from the sauce's ability to stick to it as well, but it's better for not getting too carried away with carbs.

    This recipe has astronomical sodium content between the cheese powder, added shredded cheese, and the cottage cheese. I recommend using no salt added cottage cheese whenever possible, because a lot of varieties have 400-500mg PER 1/2c SERVING.

    • @jesusthroughmary
      @jesusthroughmary Рік тому +3

      Agreed, I can't stomach no salt added cottage cheese on its own but with this there is already so much in the cheese packets that it would work

      @Amit yeah I'm not a fan of artificial sweeteners. I'd rather use a very small amount of real sugar than all the "calorie free" sweeteners. No such thing as a free lunch, so it can't be good for us.

    I like most of your recipes but this one doesnt fit your M.O. You generally make normal foods with less calories. In this recipe you literally add calories with the cottage cheese and cheddar. For people who struggle with portion control, this little bowl of mac and cheese at 500 calories is not going to be sustaining or filling. I know youve added protein but what good is that to someone who overeats? Why not just eat the regular mac and cheese, which is already delicious and then add chicken or beef?

      I mean, he lost a lot of weight so he clearly knows what dieting and exercise are... Nutrition may have its holes, like in this case with the sodium and simple carbs, but that can be alleviated by substituting whole grain pasta and using no-salt-added cottage cheese instead. Without adding all the salt from the cottage cheese, I'd say it's a healthier alternative to using whole milk and butter for the standard preparation.
