I feel so fortunate to have been able to see such a great and talented girl as Allie Sherlock. Like seeing Grace Vanderwaal in the beginning before she became so famous I will always cherish seeing the videos of Allie playing for small crowds on the streets in Ireland. Those people should know how their good fortune since I'd expect that talented girl is commanding big ticket prices now. GO ALLIE !!!

P Hern - Heard on Instagram that she went to Britain's Got Talent auditions and passed the first audition but decided not to go forward to the second level due to an extremely unpleasant experience - she didn't explain exactly what happened (nor does she have to) but you can imagine it was probably some knobhead treating her poorly - they really blew it as we all know how talented she is - she doesn't need those shows anyway - she is already being noticed and followed by some of the biggest names in music - look for big things this year - she has some excellent events upcoming and the world is about to find out how amazing she is !!

Carmen - she's from Douglas in Cork County Ireland I believe from previous posts and interviews- this Tues + Wed night's she will b the opening act for a Picture This concert in Cork at the Marquee theatre - then shes off to LA to record an EP with Ryan Tedder's company - a top name in the music business who has worked with Adele, Ed Sheeran, Paul McCartney, U2, and Beyonce. She is absolutely incredible + the rest of the world is about to find out

Allie does it for me the same way Grace Vanderwaal does; can you imagine them doing a duet on stage. It would bring down the house.
One of my all time favorite songs so I've listened to many covers. Listened so many times that I know words by heart and I always love to hear the different versions as the song progresses. Love how she never misses a beat at about 1:25 and she just has a unique voice that is so different from other I hear!!! Thumbs up!
I'll never get tired of her covers. And with the sheer volume Leonard wrote for this song, it's completely forgivable to forget the words.
I'm not a religious man by no means but this has been my favorite song since the first time I heard it year's ago and you sing it beautifully!!

Actually it is using religious analogies to describe someone's fall into despair after a tough break up. It isn't really a 'religious song', though it makes references that Christian or Jewish people understand
It isn't all about David. The cut your hair reference was Samson in the Bible, one of the early judges who's strength came from a promise he made with God to not cut his hair, but a woman tricked him and cut his hair so he lost his power.
The part about David is when he saw Bathsheba bathing on the roof, and he was so attracted to her he sinned and had her husband killed in a battle so he could marry her, and it caused him to fall from grace with God
Both of these stories are how beautiful women played with the hearts of men in the Bible, just like the beautiful woman that he is reminiscing "moving in" *wink wink* and the "holy dark was moving too and every breath we drew was hallelujah"... (Darn that's graphic)... must have broken his heart.
The song also shows that the hallelujah of happiness and love between himself and his girlfriend has now grown cold and broken and merely a shade of what it used to be.

Allie you are amazing. If you are reading this, I wish you all the best. I just spent the last few hours listening to almost all of your busking adventures and I think you have a great voice and hope you continue to sing! I think this Leonard Cohen track is absolutely beautiful, but instead of pop songs, I'd like to hear more songs with substance (think "soul"). You can be anything and any type of singer you want to be, Allie! Do not sell yourself short! You have an amazing voice and can probably nail any style you want to. If you want some of my personal favorite female singers, I'd have to suggest you start listening to Amy Winehouse, Aretha Franklin, Erykah Baduh and of course you know Adele. There's a lot more but I can't think of them right now. KEEP DOING YOUR THING! -Love from Toronto
