Just made these out of brown lentils. Worked great. Big and fluffy. I did add more baking soda and apple vinegar than you did. Also added onion and few walnuts. Some herbes and caraway seeds. Delicious.
THank you for this recipe -- very inspiring as I mostly eat vegan. I am also a seasoned baker and cook... These did not turn out very well. Very heavy, no rise at all... Any suggestions? I thought I followed the recipe to a T. I will be sharing with the dog I love the idea and will try again!
I want to correct the record: The buns were very edible, and I have been enjoying them. I will make this recipe again and hopefully get more fluff next time. I suspect I didn't make a fine enough puree in my food processor (which is tiny so I will need to do two batches next time). This would probably be a great recipe with mung dahl as well. Thanks again for a great recipe!!

Hey, I tried brown lentils before. It works, however, they didn't puff up as much as with red lentils.

Did you use whole psyllium husk or psyllium husk powder?

I'm vegan and gluten free. The only bread I can eat from the store is like $8 for a small loaf! I'm definitely going to try this.
