Gee! Justin Moses seems to play EVERY instrument with strings on? Banjo, Guitar, Mandolin, Dobro and fiddle? What a genius! And Meyer on banjo is a blast! Wow ... !
Holy crap, it is the Lonesome River Band minus Sammy Shelor... such great music though. You can't beat Don Rigsby on the mandolin and vocals and of course Kenny Smith is a monster on the guitar. Love it!!! They sound as good as they did in 1994!
i would say this core of LRB was the best line up in my opinion ... john meyer does a superb job on the 5 . he has since left and brian fesler has replaced him. brian was a former LRB member way back in the day. but to say this is a watered down version is absurd. good timing good drive all were spot on. no its not shelor but its damn good.
No disrespect to musicianship but this is one of the softest bootleg john versions I've ever heard.i guess if your a bubble gum bluegrass fan you would like this.
It might not be as raw as Ralph ripping the strings out the grooves on the bridge of his arch top, but bubble gum? Come on bro... this is basically the Lonesome River Band. Are you saying LRB is bubble gum bluegrass? That’s crazy talk.
The banjo player, now, has his stuff goin' on...clean and on time! Great post, thanks!
That banjo player is John Meyer, I do believe. He's a good un along with Bonnie Bowman on bass.
Y’all are great! Love that bluegrass throwdown!

Would that be Justin Moses (fiddle) with Don Rigsby (mandolin) and Ronnie Bowman (bass)? Anybody else want to fill in my blanks?
