If your cutting tall grass for the first time you need to raise your deck all the way up. This way it's not beating up your equipment and bogging down regardless if you have special blades.

    • @johnkavli8181

H Im old Greg this is why we developed these blades. These are not your standard blades that can not cut more than six inches and sorry you have not used these blades so you know very little about them. Allow me to tell you that the load is extremely less than normal blades they do not allow the grass to remain under the deck it is cut immediately and then expelled. The mower we are using is one of the worst ride ons for cutting even shorter grass. I am guessing you did not even stop to hear if this mower was struggling and you know what it did not!!! The efficiency of these blades allow you to have your deck low for just one pass. This gives you savings in fuel and more importantly your TIME. Just imagine what these savings can do for the environment and you still refuse to believe in its capabilities, mowers produce 11 times more greenhouse pollution than a car . Going by the way you cut the grass it will take you at least twice as long. Not only that but you neglected to say anything about the mulch left behind it is as fine as you will ever get . Please next time pay more attention to the finer details they really are special.

Ok, I just tried out my new Kalvi blades, on my 2019 John Deere Z 540 M, with the standard 48” deck, on the same grass as in this video! I was doubtful for the last week, because of the amount rain we were receiving! Rained every other day! I found that I could knock down this field in top speed of 8.5 MPH, without bougging down, nor throwing out clumps of wet grass, in my wake! At that speed, it wasn’t top quality finish outcome, but it caught me up, till the next mow! At that speed, I was getting a breeze, saving gas & time! My friend is a poor video maker, but as the trimmer man, I can’t complain! We were both amazed, surprised, & very satisfied, since this was a “pro-bono” job for my daughter! Thank you very much for making such great blades! Her neighbors couldn’t even finish cutting his yard, and it looked like hell! Took a lot longer for him, too! I found out after I was done, that I had lowered the blade to 2& 3/4”, instead of my highest setting! It still worked out just fine, without any excess heating! Your blades really make a MOWER, look Great! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻✌️👌🏻

Mr. Kavli, it's apparent that no one commenting has had the utter displeasure of using a Husqvarna, that has the fabricated deck on it in the 42", 48" sizes, in the series before the new one released not long ago.
Owning one now, a YT42XLS, and for the money it cost, one would expect the cut to be equal to a high end zero turn mower. Which I'm sad to say is far from the case, and I will say this to anyone, and that is my Craftsman LT1000, with five less horsepower, and single cylinder, 42" stamped deck two blade mower bought in 2009, for less than a $1,000.00 US.
Will to this day, and hundreds of more hours on it than the Husqvarna, will have a cleaner cut path, with no standing grass left in it. Do it at a faster pace, in one cutting, and have cut clippings finer to boot.
Where as the Husqvarna, does good to barely cut half of it's designed 42". Meaning if I want a halfway decent cut from it without mowing the whole area twice, I have to use half the deck, and that's the side with discharge, because if you try and cut with the far side blades. Most of the grass is left standing, even on a lawn mowed weekly, and being of Bermuda grass, which is thin a blade variety.
If you try and cut anything with heavy stems with the full deck, it requires that you make several passes over it to get it to cut at level desired. Even then that's asking a lot, and I keep my blades sharpened, and balanced in an effort to get the best cutting possible, and in a timely manner, which isn't possible with this mower.
Now I loved to try a set of your blades, but I have several areas, where the terrain changes elevations in such a manner, that I'm almost positive the turn down will dig into the dirt. On top of that, the soil is rather sandy, and has some small gravel mixed in with it all, and tends to reduce the thickest high lift blades to nothing in a few uses.
I mow around an acre or so, and it's divided, by my driveway, that's constructed of different types of rocks, and gravels from years of maintaining it to carry the weight of my Ford F250 with the 7.3 Powerstroke. So it has a tendency to have gravel, and rocks in the grass along the edge of the couple hundred feet the driveway runs, and I doubt your blades would stand up to the abuse any better than the ones I buy now.
As much as I'd like to actually mow making one full mower deck wide pass, with a clean cut being left behind. There's no way I could afford to change the blades as often as I have to using your's, but maybe after a few years your production will be at a level, that cost comes down to manufacture them. Thus making them more affordable to folks like myself, that have to go through a couple sets of blades annually, if they want a decent looking lawn.
Hopefully this will explain just how terrible the mower you used cuts, and will help you prove the ability of your blades, to improve even the worst mowers out there.

Thank you Timothy for those enlightening words we highly appreciate some one who understands what we went through with this mower. It is this mower that prompted us to create a blade that can be used on any mower and be superior to any other. We have Mike from "something 2lookat" ua-cam.com/video/ExVbQKEnCkw/v-deo.html whom reviewed it and gave us an A+. These blades have been used on many mowers now and it is the same superior finish on all of them and I will go as far as saying not even the $30,000 and plus mowers leave a better finish. I will be in contact with you again if you don't mind.

      John

@@johnkavli8181 I wish I wasn't cursed with it, but I am, and I've redesigned the underside of the deck I have. It's much better the they're poor effort, but along way from being a quality mower deck on several levels.
I just dislike when a mechanical device gets the better of me, so I consider it a work in progress.
I seen his review, that's where I started following your trail to see exactly what y'all were using as a test mule. All I can say, is y'all picked the worst I've ever come across! I had old Whites Auto, that was from early 60's, chain drive gearbox, 3.5 hp B&S, with 22" blade mounted directly to engine shaft. Hard tires, sitting inches above the ground, and use the front wheels only for height adjustment.
Which was maybe 3" total, and that little beast, out cut the Husqvarna I have been battling going on forth mowing season here in NE Texas.
Last year between the drought, and Army worms, that wiped out hundreds of thousands of acres of cattle pastures, and lawns. It was the the first time in my many years, that I believe I only had to mow four are five times total.
Still went through a set of blades, and two deck belts. That's when I made the changes to the deck, which I wasn't sure of the improvement until this spring.
So, yeah I know the pain suffered by trying to use one of those, and was greatly impressed by all your test mules, and the other fellas plowing through what he did.
Greatest feat you impressed me with, was the fact that the mowers never seriously bogged down, because of not being able to clear the grass from under the decks.
I know the lawn tractor deck, is crippled by the designed structure surrounding the back two blades. There's seriously, no room between the blades, and the way they enclosed them in steel for them to pass the clippings from one to the other to discharge the clippings. Thus the back two blades load up so bad, they'll either smoke the belt on the drive pulley, are stall 25 hp v twin completely down till it shuts off, if it's over 4 or 5" tall, and if it's wet forget it.
By all means you've got my attention, and I'll be waiting to hear back. I'll share what I come up with to improve the cut to this point on mine, and it's almost as good of improvement as you've come up with.
Not really much to it if one can use welder, and either cutting torch, are plasma cutting rig. Then it's matter of few hours labor, between getting materials, actual fabrication time, and repainting it.
So holler when you get ready, and if you have email address I will send you mine if that'll work for you, are whatever you prefer.

Please refrain from saying ridiculous stuff like that and ask us how they work we would be more than happy to explain. These Blades have been on the market now for over 18 months not one lawncare professional has said anything close to what you are saying. On the contrary their mowers work with less stress and moe efficiently.

    • @amosk2416
      @amosk2416 2 роки тому

What you fail to reaise is that that mower is so underpowered and poorly designed that would bog down and stall in 3-4 weeks growth with the normal blades on, putting loads of stress on the spindles, but here it is not choking in field grass.

Hi Sara we have just finished our video with our front deck mower. It did really well we think you can be the judge of that. As for putting the chute blocker in we cannot see any real gains because the mulch left behind was really short. In the video I pick up some of the mulch to show how short it is. Our mower is quite old and well used and it did well we tried with normal blades but it just kept bogging down, didn't want to show it because it is not fair on the mower it wasn't designed for that type of mowing. Once you have seen the video it would be great to hear what you think. The video will be aired this weekend. Thanks Sara.
