Lyrics:
You've got a thing or two to learn about me baby
'Cause I ain't taking it no more and I don't mean maybe
You don't know right from wrong
Well the love we had is gone
So blame it on your lying, cheating, cold dead beating,
Two-timing and double dealing
Mean mistreating, loving heart
Well all I wanted was to be your one and only
And all I ever got from you was being lonely
Now that dream is laid to rest
'Cause you have failed the test
So blame it on your lying, cheating, cold dead beating,
Two-timing and double dealing
Mean mistreating, loving heart
Are you headed for a heartache, oh yeah
Gonna get a bad break, oh yeah
You made a bad mistake, oh yeah
Well, you're never gonna find another love like mine
Someone's gonna do you like you done me honey
And when she does you like she'll do you, it ain't funny
You need some sympathy
But don't be calling me
Hey blame it on your lying, cheating, cold dead beating
Two-timing and double dealing
Mean mistreating, loving heart
Are you heading for a heartache, oh yeah
Gonna get a bad break, oh yeah
You made a bad mistake, oh yeah
Well, you're never gonna find another love like mine
Someone's gonna do you like you done me honey
And when she does you like she'll do you, it ain't funny
You'll need some sympathy
But don't be calling me
Hey blame it on your lying, cheating, cold dead beating
Two-timing and double dealing
Mean mistreating, loving heart
Yeah blame it on your lying, cheating, cold dead beating,
Two-timing and double dealing
Mean mistreating, loving heart

Whose still loving this in the new year 2024?
Just shut up. These low-hanging fruit comments like this are stale and annoying.
Come up with something creative or just shut up, honestly.
Me!
why did we get away from this kind of great music?
why can"t these young guya & gals come up with this kind of music?
Still fabulous.
In case anyone today is confused, This is Country. Absolute Gold.
What is amazing is that Patty Loveless and Dwight Yoakam were born in the same town of less than 7000 people within 3 months of each other. What are the odds of that with two absolute Legends.
Patty was born in my mom’s hometown of Elkhorn City in Pike County Kentucky. I don’t think Dwight was born there. He was born in Pikeville, which is about 30 miles from Elkhorn . But you were close.😊
@@Mostopinionatedmanofalltime According to Wiki she was born Jan 4th 1957 in Pikeville Ky. I mean if they are wrong??????
Well, Kentucky also gave us the Judds.
@@LadyMacbeth56 KY gave us all the best actual real country singers. Loveless, Yoakim, Judds, Stapleton, Tyler Childers, Sturgill Simpson, Loretta Lynn, Keith Whitley, Montgomery Gentry.
No state has produced more great genuine country acts
@@zeroh7671You should look up the Country Music Highway (US 23), from Ashland, KY to the Virginia line.
Nobody talks about the killer guitar work Kenny Vaughan does on this song and that's a shame. He's the best
Kenny is playing the intro. I played the Tele electric rhythm and the b-bender solo. Kenny is still a great player!
Everyone in this video is outstanding!!!
@@stevegibson8711hi Steve all you Nashville geetar players are spectacular including John Jorgenson ❤
@@martydibergi5228I agree. I can't put into words how much I miss this style of music on the radio. Everyone wants to talk about Waylon or Luke Bryan but for me, I'll always be stuck in the middle, in the '90s... because damn, the instruments had drive like no other decade. I'm grateful we have it on record to still listen to. I'm a musician myself and love and appreciate all the greats of Nashville back then like Brent Mason, Pig Robbins, etc. I grew up listening to it on the tractor and I'm ready for this kind of country to make a complete comeback!
Absolutely!
Patty truly deserves to be in the Country Music Hall of Fame. She was one of the most important female artists in the 80's and 90's in country music.
Edit: On April 3rd, 2023: Patty, along with Tanya Tucker and Bob McDill were announced as the newest inductees into the Country Music Hall of Fame! Congrats to all 3 very deserving newest members! 😊
Besides reba and all but so true patty is a great singer and she is just a great look for country music she does deserve it. She is a legend.
@@DarkOncer-lc5bf Reba is good too but I prefer Reba when she did traditional country music. In the 90's she started to go more in the pop direction.
She's a Halla Famer in my mind.
Reba? God no. I'd rather listen to Tiny Tim than that dolt.
I agree 100%
Patty Loveless is pure country and a great artist she did a song on the Troubadour album with the King of Country Music George Strait as a tribute to the man in black Johnny Cash. Congratulations on being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame
Just saw and heard Patty perform an acoustic version of this at the CMHOF museum in Nashville. She was UNBELIEVEABLE all these years later. It was as if time stood still. Her voice sounded exactly the same and even better! Patty Loveless is a legend!!
Patty NEEDS to be in the Hall of Fame!
She is...
Yup
@@SpiritedSoul1986 no she's not!
@@shirleys765 she is. The Kentucky Music Hall of Fame in 2011. Along with Keith Whitley and John Michael Montgomery. A little Google search wouldn't kill you.
@@SpiritedSoul1986 I know that but I'm talking about the Country Music Hall of Fame. And by the way, Keith Whitley was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville this year. Maybe you should do your research.
Those disliking this song are the ones that she is talking about!
They can't help themselves their dyslexic
Yep, all those losers!
The Viking Kkkilklik
Lol🤣🤣🤣🤣
You've got that right. This song is what it's all about. The lyrics themselves tell it all. If there's others that Don't Like This Music. " Well Don't Listen To It." Simple as that right!!! Greatest Music To Listen To Oh Yeah. 👍👍👍👍👍😘
I miss the old CMT when it was just country music videos. They would show 3 videos then commercials then repeat. The old days were the best.
I miss this old country music. I hate this new crap they have now. I was raised on Dwight Yoakam, Keith Whitley, Patty Loveless, and so many greats. They have all influenced my singing in some way.
Patty loveless blame you it heart
@@EJNOVA and Alison Krauss too. I cannot stand how they no longer play the "older" stuff with the new, just the same songs over and over and over again, it's exhausting, but some of the new is quite good as well, as far as the lyrics go--- not so much the singers the industry "attaches" to sing them. I totally blame this new trend on Taylor Swift and I hate to say this but Shania Twain too even though she is a great performer live (Saw her in Vegas great show).
I love old country ever i still listen to it
Old country is classic, especially Hank Williams 🤠💓
I think Patty Loveless is the best girl singer of all
Only what I feel is Patti's best record without a doubt.
BEAUTIFUL AND HER SINGING IS A BIG PLUS, THUMBS UP,I LOST MY DAUGHTER TO COVED THIS YEAR,SHE WAS 53YRS OLD,AND LOVED HER FAMILY AND HER JOB,AND SHE WAS A GRANDMA TO A BABY BOY,GOD GIVES US SUCH A GREAT LIFE,AND TIME IS UNKNOWN,AND WHEN IT STAND'S STILL FOR SOME,AND LIFE GO'S ON,AND JUST HAVE TO DO OUR BEST AND GO ON,WITH OUR MEMORY 'S.
She's in a league of her own, love her voice and her duets with Vince gill now that's country at it's best.
And she s a looker for sure !
@@downtownbobbybrown6237 Yup!!
@@downtownbobbybrown6237 She's the foxiest lady IMO! ;)
Patty is a modern day combination of Dolly, L 2:14 oretta and Patsy. Phenomenally talented and long overdue for induction into CM Hall of Fame
When my Mom was younger, she sounds a lot like Patty Loveless before Patty Loveless was around singing Country. Now my Mom is 73 years old and she can still sing but not like she did when she was in her late 20s and early 30s. I love hearing Patty Loveless sing
Need more lady country singers like her more than ever NOW!!!!
David Keith does a great job. Should be an award for acting in a music video. He nailed it.
My husband would have nailed it😞
@@wendy42842 Your husband would have nailed David Keith?
@@ryanhayes4148 lol awesome
😂😂😂🔥
Oh my word! Yes, he did!
Boy, this song takes me back to the early 90's! Loved the music back then. ♥🎶
Sadly, Harlan Howard passed in 2002, but Kostas is still alive. They need him back in Nashville: Badly.
The women in 90s country were hot and good!! So much better than what we’ve been served nowadays!! Give me Patty Loveless, Kathy Mattea, Lorrie Morgan, Mary Chapin Carpenter, some others I can’t think of AND Shania Twain Any day!!!
The guitar player is absolutely brilliant
It's Cousin Kenny Vaughan, guitarist with Marty Stuart's Fabulous Superlatives. HE's one of the best.
so underrated. she was a absolute gem.
My son was 9 when this song came out. Memories of singing in the car and trying not to flub the lyrics. We still can do it together in 2020! Love you T!
She is something very special and puts a big smile on my face everytime i hear and see her sing. Such a beautiful and talented lady.
Yeah, well, it's Patty Loveless for Pete's sake.
I love how this song is about being cheated on but it still sounds so upbeat
Had the privilege of seeing Patty in Atlanta doing a charity event concert , she came out in a purple sequence skirt and sang us into a love trance for life...she was sensational .Loved her music before seeing her ; bought everything I could find by her after that show . She is better in person than on the radio...the real deal that girl can sing !!!!
Patty Loveless is in the Hall of Fame
Patty Loveless is my favorite female country singer!💜
Mine too
She way better Miley Cyrus is never been great she needs to be banned from Country Patty Loveless is true Country always will be!
Mine too!😊
I remember riding in the front seat of my auntie's Delta 88 with the velvet seats while she sang this song and smoked. The early 90s were a different time
Need more steel guitar in country music. Bring back the steel guitar!!!
YOU'RE STILL PULLIN HEARTSTRINGS MS. LOVELESS- GREAT CMA AWARDS MOMENT IN 2022!
She Looks Absolutely Stunning! Patty's voice is unquestionably one of the Strongest, most Authentic Country Voice's EVER!
STILL an aweomensong! Great video too! Not sure if shes still around or not. 80s & 90s country was awesome! Whos listening in 2024? If so youre awesome! ❤❤❤❤
Of course Patty Loveless is still around, I got to watch Patty Loveless on the Grand Ole Opry Show this past Saturday on my cell phone ok and Patty Loveless looked really really good and beautiful and gorgeous and stunning as well ok and also Patty Loveless has a beautiful singing voice as well ok. Believe me, Patty Loveless is still around ok.
Those were the days. Wish problems in 2023 were this easy.
Patty is from my mom’s hometown.😊
This was a great time for country music by fantastic gals, like Carlene Carter, Pam Tillis and of course Patty Loveless who brought down the house with this mega hit, circa 1993.Many others too, but this one hits home a bit more.Must be the lyrics.
Alex...I just got back to another day of Carlene and clicked on your steer to Patty. Great song, love this video. But I got to thinking Jutta and replayed Carlene's goodies. I bet my virgin ass, Jutta could do wonders with Carlene. Oh, well, just a thought, Thanks again for the steer to Patty.
Love me some Carlene

My late wife and I saw Patty in concert in Webster Mass many moons ago and she was Amazing then as she is now..
@Patty Loveless - Topic I Love You Patty
someday i'd love to meet you in person!
Patty couldn't sing a bad song if her life depended on it! Luv her voice. BTW; Whata lucky guy he was to be in the video.
River Phoenix singing this in The Thing Called Love was heaven. 😩
😍
Hello Heather..
Like girls but your right he was terrific.. Good little movie.. Great actor.... Even better than his brother and he's great... What a shame...
🥰
Boy, that girl in the white blouse he's hitting on sure is cute ! One of the best songs by Patty. She's probably my fave singer in country (Reba is huge too). I love her mountain music, have 3 or 4 of those albums .
I think that is Jessica Biel and it’s driving me crazy because I can’t find anything to support that!
Where are the real country artists that came up in the 80's and earlier. No one to replace them.
Patty has been and always will be one of my favorite entertainers. Just gorgeous.
One of my Very favorite country songs! BRILLIANT
What happened to good old country music i miss it .
If you have SiriusXM, Check out the Prime Country station

During that era Patty was on top of the world, she was just great.
She still is in my book.
Yes she's was
Patty Loveless got inducted to the Hall of Fame of 2011 come on guys
brilliant.. good country
Yes it's a decent version but not quite as good as the composer's. Incidentally, I wonder what happened to Kostas; he released a great album ('Xs in moderation') but seems to have disappeared. Dwight Yoakum was a fan.

THS is one of the best country music songs I EVER heard. AND I'M old country music fan....but this was just as good as anything I heard in the past, and that says A LOT. Great singer and beautiful woman!
A true country legend
Great song sung by a beautiful lady. When country was country.
Absolutely brilliant music and great singer
Mixing the 1960s guitar with the 1890s saloon piano is pretty awesome and why I’ll always remember this song.
One of the most fun and upbeat Patty Loveless songs and one of the most famous ones that I have been listening since I was quite young on the Aviano US base in the northern region in Italy where I was born and raised and grew up falling in love with country music. Angela Umbria Italy
This song was co-written by the legendary Harlan Howard, the man who coined the term that country music was "three chords and the truth."
Great writing with all the adjectives describing "heart."

And in Rock and in everything
What a song!... And what a nice video
She has a good studio voice and small venues fit her style. She isn't a good major arena singer.
@@HaveCheetahWillView maybe the audio is the problem, not her voice limitations?

Patty Loveless is one of my favorites. This tune makes me want to get up and dance
Wow i have'nt heard this in like... forever. The 90's were the best decade for country music
Last of the good, neo traditional country music, the 90s. R.I.P.
Dame she’s beautiful
