Put the mesh in from the front. And use some plastic molding molding to frame it out. That way you can change it around with different colors. For contrast.

Expanded Aluminum Mesh is what you are looking for. There are a bunch of different versions (designs) to choose from and several places that carry it. Don't know where in your area though.
Hood latch needs to be adjusted. And if you haven't lubricate the latch its self. Hopefully make it easier to open the hood for you. Those plastic parts on the fenders just clip in there. If you turn the wheel and pull the liner back a little it will give you a little better access to get them out. That front bumper fits good for fiberglass. I like the style of it.

Thicc Beth 👌 I think the hood latch could use some WD -40 and where's the mounting hardware from the OEM bumper ? You had me worried with that drill as it went right through without a problem 😂

One tip on drilling & alignment of a flexible-ish part (Fiberglass / plastic / steel or Al < .080):
I find more success drilling one hole in the middle, installing the fastener, drilling the next hole.... repeat alternating sides. It definitely takes longer but the alignment stays nicer.
And excellent idea using the old one for the track....

Had the same problem with hood latch getting stuck on my wife's Mini Countryman. The hood stops needed to be lowered slightly. They just rotate to screw up and down.

Black bumper looks good with white it makes it look sportdy... I got 2008 Kia spectra it's got black bumper with blue paint it looks amazing... If I was you Mick I won't paint your bumper leave it black it looks good on your 350z

Try squirting some WD-40 on the hood latch to loosen it up,mine did the same thing. Worked great afterwards.😃

I'd much rather having you as a gift than A BUMPER! lol! We all love bubble wrap, it's just addictive.
The bolt holes on the latch probably are elongated so you can adjust it, that might take care of your opening problem.
