    Gotta learn those pinch points on the saw. Nothing worse than getting a saw stuck. When it's leaning on something you gotta come from the underside

    You can use the length of the bar to make your cuts a more consistent length. Also check the brake it should stop the chain from spinning. Saw may need a replacement chain clutch. That is a great price for that saw.

    It appears that you got a good deal after all. I had some doubts in the beginning. If I were you I would use that Ranger to pack down the snow where you want to end up plowing. Cause once it’s packed down and refreezes you should be able to plow without the plow digging into the ground or whatever. I do the same thing on my gravel driveway for the first 2 - 4 inches of snow.

    Howdy neighbor! (Black Creek) Just a little help for ya when soldering... place your iron under the wire and heat the wire. When the temp of the wire is just right, the solder will flow throughout the wire making a solid connection. Heat travels up the wire quickly so you want to be careful not to over do it and possibly damage switches or other electronics. Solder Flux also helps. My kid and I love your vids and can't wait for the new episodes!

    • @M.TTT.
      @M.TTT. Рік тому

    The chainsaw sounds lean on the low "L" side adjust it out a quarter to a half a turn that will bring the idle down and better trigger response and the high "H" needs to go in maybe a quarter turn where it's so cold out it needs a little less fuel during winter! Great buy though for 75$! And I'd go ahead and buy a new bar and chain for it you'll notice a major difference I'd recommend an Oregon bar and chain combo you can get them fairly cheap on Amazon make sure to never run it dry on bar oil and never run your chain into the dirt and it will last for a long time!

    I went straight to the comments to see how many people were screaming at the computer about putting a new seal in. To my surprise there's not very many. The worst thing about doing the weld method instead of the drill and tap for the extraction is the heat that is put to the rubber of the seal causing it to vulcanize and not be a supple. Hopefully it doesn't leak or you'll be repeating this whole process. Good job overall though👍

    Hi: I enjoy watching your videos. My younger brother was a heavy equipment and forklift mechanic, like you he is very mechanically enclined. My background is forestry, I can tell you haven't used a chainsaw much, I would recommend you get yourself a set of chaps to protect your legs. Don't be afraid to use the front of the bar instead of cutting with the back of the bar. There is a good reference book called "the Cutting edge", which all about the use of a chainsaw, safety and felling trees etc. I noticed you were getting your bar pinched a lot of times, if you start your cut underneath and then finish on top you won't get jammed as much. It has to do with compression and tension.(covered in the cutting edge book). Happy New Year.

I would say that anytime you can run a connector like a weather pack, it will help you if you ever need to swap it out. I had built a full suspension sand rail and thought I was smart and soldered every connection thinking that there is no was the wiring will ever be an issue. Joke was on me first ride hit a limb and broke my light. Lol time to cut the wires.

    So to get that mig welder to ground you put the lead to the outside of the differential case? If so you need to step back and think about the grounding path that was used and just how bad that is on bearings. Never use a welder by grounding from your weld point to anything that needs to move. Be it a ball joint, hinge, ballbearing, splined shaft and so on.

It has a high speed, low speed mixture screws and an idle speed screw. Love Stihl chainsaws. I have a Husky, but my son has a Stilhl MS290 Farm Boss. Waiting for a carb diaphragm so I can get it running correctly again. Stihl makes quality equipment. Oh man I loved the chainsaw bit. There's something so cool about having an engine running in your hands with a meat reaper chain attached to it lol

    Have you thought about putting a Snowsport Plow on it? They ride up and down and don't dig into the ground.

    pro tip keep a water spray bottle handy to put out small fires before they become big fires. lol Do you have a dead blow? I only ask cause it would have been a better hammer choice when putting the axle back in, Just some observations take them for what they are worth.

    Silicone spray on plow and chains on the ranger, little tips for thought, and it would help to get your wood before the snow, anyway good luck.

    You also need to brush the snow off the wood so the chain will stay sharper longer.

    I have a 2012 Polaris Ranger 500efi midsize, plow, soft doors and a golf cart heater. Love my machine however your Era of machine made my decision that I had to have 1. I'm still looking for 1 like you have. What part of Wisconsin are you located? I'm near Blackriver and we over 2' of ice pack snow and there's no way I'd try to take my machine out let alone with the plow on. Nice video.

    Saw is idling way to fast, chain should stop almost completely when idling if the chain and idle are both properly adjusted. There is usually a regular Idle screw and 2 mixture screws. One is for high speed throttle adjustment and the other is for Idle speed. Factory setting If i remember right is 1.5 turns out. Anyways, love the video's and the content.
