I was thinking that too. originally Rhodey (War Machine) stole Tony's suit and share it with the army and Justin Hammer so imagine if he stayed bad and never joined Tony Stark and if Yinsen lived to work with Tony helping with and possibly being War Machine

1:44 Yinsen's "nice to meet you too" along with the theme up beat made it my favourite scene in the entire franchise. It almost feels as if we're hearing the suit introduce itself as the palladium cools down...🙌
3:10 love that little detail of Tony looking over at Yensen to see his reaction or maybe approval Yensen was the first man Tony respected in these movies
I absolutely love this whole scene. To me, there are so many small critical details and moments in this scene that define it as one of the most important scenes to literally kick off the entire MCU. This film will always define greatness. Also, watching this movie ESPECIALLY this movie is so important before watching Shang-Chi. Just my opinion
Am I the only one who thinks that it's awesome that Tony was quickly able to put together a plan to miniaturize the arc reactor and succeed in doing so in the first attempt?! He calmly thought of the suit to escape in while being a captive too!
Tony Stark built this in a cave! Take your fragile, hurt masculinity elsewhere I don't care for it. There's like 5 white guys competing for smartest in Marvel but now it's an issue when Shuri comes into the mix? Yeah okay B Y E
Scott Price idk I think he would love her 😅 Tony has always connected with people with higher intelligence. Like when he first met Bruce and when he told Helen Choe that her technology outdating his was "exactly the plan". He also likes Peter, Harley, and then Riri and Rocket from the comics. Tony's a tech geek before anything 😂 but I guess we'll see in Infinity war? (Maybe)
"They...are your loyal customers, sir." That line is so damn powerful in this movie. Edit: Let's remember, this dude went from being kidnapped and tortured to finding out his weapons were killing innocent civilians by the thousands daily, his business partner was a traitor to his country that made it possible (who then tried to kill Tony, and in the process, almost killed Pepper and intended to use his "anti-weapons" device to kill even MORE people), then having a ghost from his dad's past coming back to ruin what he thought was becoming his perfect life, AGAIN using his design to kill innocent people and almost kill the woman he loved, all while he knew he was dying fast with little to no hope of finding a cure, to having to save the whole damn world from an alien army and an evil God (and 'sacrificing' himself in the process), fearing the return of said army for years to come, almost dying AGAIN while he thought the woman he loved was betraying him for another man, dealing with his own mortality and having his fear of the NY incident (Avengers 1) beginning to cause potentially fatal anxiety attacks at the mere memory of it, and THEN having to fight his best friend and childhood idol while chasing his parents' murderer (who happened to be said best friend's best friend), his few friends being torn apart and separated, and finally-his world is shattered as his greatest fear is realized: Thanos is coming. The army is coming. The end is coming. He is not prepared. He doesn't know what to do. Peter Parker died, a kid he saw as a son, and he felt at fault for it. He failed. Not just Peter, but everyone. They LOST. When he finally achieved happiness after years of dealing with that failure, he had a chance to fix everything they lost-at the cost of everything he loved. In the end, he died, and knew he would if he did what he planned to. We love you 3,000 Tony.
How I imagine myself while building the replica arc reactor I bought online: How I actually look: *Jamming the wrong size screw in confusion for 20 minutes*
For anyone curious enough; 3 gigajoules per second (GJ/s) is an average of 3 gigawatts, which is, 3 billion watts. For comparison, the largest power plants you'll find run at 1 GW. To put it another way, 3 GW is about 2/3 the power output of the entire Fukushima generating complex. Let's say the reactor works with 99% efficiency - something which simply doesn't happen. That means that 1% of the output will be in the form of heat. That's 30 MW (megawatts) of heat energy being produced inside Tony Stark's chest. As a reference point, Anglesey Aluminum, a British plant which produced 144,000 tons of aluminum per year, needed 255 MW, so you've got the heat output of a small (15,000 tons/year) smelter being cooled by Tony's blood. That will work for a (very small) fraction of a second before he explodes into a cloud of steam and flesh fragments. So basically, you need a reactor composed entirely of unobtanium and cooled by massive amounts of handwavium. Aka its straight up impossible - sorry
Gigajoules already means watts per second so he really said 3 gigawatts per second per second. He’s got an accelerating reactor lmao, thing’s going to be producing 180 gigajoules by the end of the minute
"Relax, I have steady hands. Why do you think you're still alive, huh?" "... So what do I call you?" "My name is Yinsen." "Yinsen. Nice to meet you." "...Nice to meet you too." Wonderfully wholesome moment, with Tony apologising in an understated way for not remembering Yinsen from the conference years earlier and Yinsen being pleasantly surprised by that side of Tony.
What I love about iron man is it does depict Stark's genius in a realistic relatable manner. You always see "geniuses" in superhero movie. You hear a bunch of science babble but you never believe it and its often a silly trope. In the case of Stark, you do buy him as charming whizz, tech-head, engineer and hands-on mechanic capable of building a computer out of sand!
"TONY STARK BUILT THIS IN A CAVE!!! WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS!!!" That goosebumps moment when you realise that Tony's design of Ironman started here & ended with a high tech nanobots suit that withstood the full power of the infinity stones. If any ordinary human had put on the gauntlet, it would have killed him in 0.1 seconds.
When this came out in 2008 I had no idea what I was in for as I was never into the comics. I saw it 4 or 5 times that week This was one of my favorite scenes. The casting director could not have chosen a better person to play the role.
2:44 3 giga joules is the power of 3giga watts which is around 3 billion watts per sec and as far as i know an average nuclear reactor in America creates the power of 1 billion watts which means, the power of 3 nuclear reactors 💀💀💀💀
"The call themselves the Ten Rings" After seeing Shang-Chi, little one liners like this make me wonder how many other Marvel characters they have weaved into the other movies.
This scene of Tony engineering and constructing is what makes this movie so much deeply rooted in it's origins n more authentic.even the costume designing or web making scene from spiderman made those movies really grounded and believable.Marvel always got these parts right unlike the past Batman movies where you never get to see batman use his detective skills.
Imagine the things he could have made after being out in space. All those resources, technology, principles. He would've probably been renowned throughout the whole galaxy. He could have made a suit that can beat an army.
I can’t help but think about how close Tony and Yinsen would’ve remained as friends had Yinsen survived the escape out the cave. No doubt in my mind Tony would’ve came to Yinsen with all his dilemmas that followed after this film. His palladium poisoning, His PTSD, the registration act, everything. I just imagine Tony ringing up this man for guidance as they talk it over with tea and a game of backgammon. Makes me so melancholy to think about.
I like Iron Man films for these inspiring scenes. I do not care about bombing aliens or fighting Thanus, for me Iron Man is about sitting in your workplace and creating technologies.
I feel like Iron Man would be the kind of guy to be like "Hey, welcom to my channel! Today, we're going to build an arc reactor out of everyday tools! You'll need: a degree in electronics and engineering, a blow torch, and some expensive materials, such as all sorts of metals, circuitry, and a wire!"
3:02 Tony: "this is our ticket to ge outta here" Yinsen: "what is it?" Tony: " is a piece of small paper that can make people enter some place, but thats not important right now"

they should have more of this shit in movies and fewer bimbos
Yensin was a totally cool guy....
he's like the ex-afghan president Hamid Karzai.
*Yinsen
eh helps the iron man and doesn't afraid of anything
Shame we can't say the same in the anime series
Coming to this video is like making a holy pilgrimage to honor the MCU now. To the place it all began
"Don't worry I have steady hands, why do you think you are still alive..."
*Spills it everywhere*
"Fuck...."
Lmao
Haha lmao
He said Relax, not “Don’t worry”
Decay 005 Why so specific? And that was 3 months ago.
Fariko Wishless their just trying to take the fun out everyone’s day.
I miss these building scenes from iron man 1 and 2. Sucks there wasn't rly any in iron man 3
Justin Nguyen
I personally liked that there was more Tony Stark and less Ironman
I know, right? Even in future movies, there isn’t a lot of Tony building stuff. I wanna know how he built Spider-Man’s suit or the nanotech suit in Infinity War D:
Sm00thJAzzer you guys don’t understand and want too much
Akiel Iskandar Well it's no longer Iron Man movies, it's Avengers, and there are a lot of them
Iron Man 3 was good. What are you on about? The Mandarin twist?
1:44 Yinsen's "nice to meet you too" along with the theme up beat made it my favourite scene in the entire franchise. It almost feels as if we're hearing the suit introduce itself as the palladium cools down...🙌
3:10 love that little detail of Tony looking over at Yensen to see his reaction or maybe approval
Yensen was the first man Tony respected in these movies
3:00 talk about engineering drawings in cave,in a Freaking cave. That itself is AWESOME.
For a character that exists just to save Tony and die. Yinsen is pretty great
It’s cause most of the first act it’s just mainly Tony and Yinsen
Whenever I feel down, I always watch this scene. This makes me motivated to be an engineer.
Cursed with a brain that doesn't stop thinking.
Tony Stark built this in a cave! With a box of scraps!
*I have no idea how this became about Shuri, but the girl is a genius and in this house we support all science geeks who succeed in different areas. Take your fragile, hurt masculinity elsewhere I don't care for it. There's like 5 white guys competing for smartest in Marvel but now it's an issue when Shuri comes into the mix? Yeah okay B Y E
But but but, ShURi iS SmArTeR
winter Marvel said Shuri is smarter so she is. But it doesn't matter anyway because they would totally nerd out together.
I could just see her easily understanding what he's working on and he's trying to save face and politely shoo her away.
(Maybe)
Well if it is Tony in that Hulkbuster outside of Wakanda in the trailer then it could happen :)
Tony invent time heist device : "Shit!"
Morgan : "Shit..."
"The power of the sun."
"In the palm of your hand."
Tony is such a genius
Matt Lister He is but Mr Fantastic is smarter
Gabriel Idusogie Actually Tony has surprised Mr.Fantastic plenty of times, so I wouldn't really call him smarter
No black panther is
TrollingKing you just said hes a 100x smarter but also said that he is almost as smart as him in the same sentence.
Matt Lister because he is tony stark
wow such genius. such engineer
much wow.
Captain Obvious such english
Captain Obvious Such physicist
Wow such dead meme
Such such.
"Tony Stark was able to build this in a cave! With a box of scraps!"
What Obadiah didn't know was that the missing ingredient was Yinsen
2:30 -- Behind Stark and Yinsen -- Iron man's eyeholes glowing in the dark.
Nope.
No
Those are just lights
Foreshadowing?
Nice catch
"They...are your loyal customers, sir."
That line is so damn powerful in this movie.
Froggyman145 , wow, you articulated the tragedies and triumphs of Tony Starks in a very poignant manner! 🤔
Wow, nice explanation
that was awesome bro
💯
rip
Otto Octavius - "I can't believe someone completed a Reactor in a CAVE with a Box of Scrap."
The power of the sun in the palm of your hand.
I just realised even the microscope used at 2:07 , he built from scratch , good lord Tony.
"Tony Stark built this in a cave, with a box of scraps", I said calmly. 😂
4 years old: builds his first circuit board
6 years old: builds his first engine
30 years old: builds world's first miniature sustainable energy
Nobody ever thought Electro from TASM2 would use Tony Stark's arc reactor
How I imagine myself while building the replica arc reactor I bought online:
How I actually look: *Jamming the wrong size screw in confusion for 20 minutes*
Imagine assisting Tony Stark in his project. You could learn so much from an engineer like him even if it's just watching him do stuff.
Scientist: the technology doesn’t exist
Tony: challenge accepted.
That's what I have every morning with a cup of coffee...
"I am limited by the technology of my time"
Avengers 4: Thanos: "Tony Stark built this in space! With a box of scraps!"
Quality is amazing. its like watching a tv at the tv store!
60 fps lol
It's like watching a movie in a fashion that the director himself wouldn't approve of!
Pcheruka h
Movies in 60fps suck, have nothing of a cinematic feel.
Lol spot on dude
Yes because that’s the only impossible thing about iron man
Gigajoules already means watts per second so he really said 3 gigawatts per second per second. He’s got an accelerating reactor lmao, thing’s going to be producing 180 gigajoules by the end of the minute
🤣! Holy cow! Hadn't thought of that! Hilarious though when you break it down that way!
1:24 imagine if he dropped liquid palladium. we would not have avengers.
Tony would have to make Jericho then
"Relax, I have steady hands. Why do you think you're still alive, huh?"
"... So what do I call you?"
"My name is Yinsen."
"Yinsen. Nice to meet you."
"...Nice to meet you too."
Wonderfully wholesome moment, with Tony apologising in an understated way for not remembering Yinsen from the conference years earlier and Yinsen being pleasantly surprised by that side of Tony.
12 years later and this is still the coolest scene in the MCU.
IMO, this scene really shows how smart Tony really is.
Proof That Tony Has a Heart - may Tony Stark rest while his legacy lives on
"What is it?"
"Flatten them all out and look"
This was the moment I knew this movie was going to be great
"Impressive.... have you considered enrolling as an art major??" 3:08
1:45 the shot with Tony and Yinson was always so cool.
best scene of ironman 1
I like Ironman all movies seeing it
best scene of the entire series
I like his first suit up with the silver suit. Mark 2 I think
D Maze vc
The Batman
I AM BATMAN....
0:52 "Don't need this." *YEET* xD
The Power of the sun in the palm of your hand.
"TONY STARK BUILT THIS IN A CAVE!!! WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS!!!"
That goosebumps moment when you realise that Tony's design of Ironman started here & ended with a high tech nanobots suit that withstood the full power of the infinity stones.
RDJ was definitely the perfect person to play Iron Man.
2:44 3 giga joules is the power of 3giga watts which is around 3 billion watts per sec and as far as i know an average nuclear reactor in America creates the power of 1 billion watts which means, the power of 3 nuclear reactors 💀💀💀💀
"If my math is right, and it always is.."
I fucking love this character.
"The call themselves the Ten Rings"
After seeing Shang-Chi, little one liners like this make me wonder how many other Marvel characters they have weaved into the other movies.
Tony Stark solved 2 of the biggest mysteries of modern physics, clean infinite energy and time travel
The soundtracks have always been amazing in these films.
Tony commitment on his inventions inspired me to be more productive
Imagine the things he could have made after being out in space. All those resources, technology, principles. He would've probably been renowned throughout the whole galaxy. He could have made a suit that can beat an army.
Iron Man, Endgame, and Infinity War will always hold a special place in my heart
Maybe he could had become like tony's alfred like helping with his suits and with the ptsd after new york....
And here we see Tony Stark building this in a cave, with a bunch of scraps.
And because of this scene I got hooked up with MCU.
Saw this 12 years ago and I still have chills!
Tony build the first arc reactor from scraps! And now Doc Ock calls it the power of the sun in the palm of his hands!
“The power of the sun…in the palm of my hand.”
this movie and this scene changed my life. i was just a mediocre high school student when it came out.
now am a respected software engineer.
❤mcu.
"respected software engineer" lmao if you had that title you wouldn't be here
@@Merthalophor I think you missed the part where he said this scene chagend his life. Why you think he'd be here?
Software engineers rise up
@@Merthalophor i understand that.
Merthalophor think before you write. People with all kinds of titles dwell in the internet, regardless whether they say them out loud or not.
The power of the sun in the palm of his hand
There's something about the scenes where Tony invents stuff that is just so satisfying.
I like Iron Man films for these inspiring scenes. I do not care about bombing aliens or fighting Thanus, for me Iron Man is about sitting in your workplace and creating technologies.
These "humble" origins of the Iron man make every iteration that comes after feel so earned.
This scene of grown men playing with little circles and fake tools is more suspenseful than any obligatory cg alien army fight sequence
When Yinsen says "Nice to meet you too.", he laughs because that's not the first time they've met.
That would be Cool😎👍
How does a simple scene get 12 mil views without having action sequences? I LOVE IT!!
3:02
Tony: "this is our ticket to ge outta here"
Yinsen: "what is it?"
Tony: " is a piece of small paper that can make people enter some place, but thats not important right now"
Tony stark
I love you 3000
this start the whole thing up
I swear
Tony is the best! we all can agree that Steve rogers is just a loser and a motherfucker,if he wasn't born, nothing bad would have happened,in fact it would have been good, bucky would be killed in that base along with those other soldiers,so he won't escape and won't fall, and hydra won't brainwash him,cap has never saved even a single soul, trust me I've watched every single MCU movie and I know he has never saved anyone, prove me wrong captain poop fans 🖕😆
@@gauritrimbakkar9666 yea i don't like captain america at least not in the mcu. He thinks that hes a better hero than Tony yet every movie it was Tony who sacrificed himself to save everyone. And at the end Cap decided to be selfish and use Tonys time machine to serve himself while Tony get a real heros death and gained respect from everyone in the end. Tony's the real hero not captain self righteousness.
@@twizzlerlemonpie3083 he did save around 1 million earthling's in total tho in his first film and in second one by inserting floppy disk in last few secs
