Doesn’t make sense though, those guards were clearly not paralyzed. They were just kneeling with their hands behind their heads. The paralyze lasts for 15 minutes so there’s no way it wore off that fast

It would make sense that the soldiers equipment would have the same time frame if they used it too but we have no way of knowing. It could easily be that he got the strong version with a personal handheld while they got something to knock out en-mass. Tony is the one that created Ultron which leveled Sokovia, which led to Zemo getting revenge, which led to Tony breaking up the Avengers, which then led to Thanos being able to actually get the stones because the Avengers weren't united to fight him together at full force.

There's something funny about this scene. When Stane and the leader entered the tent, the terrorists and Stane's guards standing toe to toe. But, when Stane gets out, all of the Stane's guards got things under control.
This was such a great film - that period of time actually was pretty great for cinema - 2007 Transformers, 2008 Iron Man. The CGI in these films felt next level - tbh, to the extent that I felt we hadn’t seen since the LOTR Trilogy.

Although the near infinite engineering ability of Stark quickly becomes absolutely ridiculous as he makes several era changing tech leap within a few movie , it does illustrate a good point : men like Stane who only understands power will easily kill the golden goose. Because they don’t understand the real value of what they re controlling . They just see the now and they can’t even fathom tomorrow.
They made a good movie first, which allowed them to tell a great superhero story. Good storytelling will never change no matter what they tell you about the audience changing and the so-called "modern audience" or "superhero fatigue". Once they make a good movie people will like it.
If you think about it, the Mark 1 isn't even that technically advanced. There's really nothing to be gained from reverse engineering it. The only thing of value is the miniature arc reactor.

Stane was an amazing villain. This illustrates the problem with early MCU stuff, which although much better than anything we get now, killed off its villains in pretty much every movie.
At least they kept Loki around. He was set up very well in the og Thor movie and lived until Thanos snapped his neck, he’s still around but his story arc was better with him dying for his brother imo
