@@Mario_blandI didn't learn her drive rush cancel bnb until I hit Platinum, and that was most of what carried me to Diamond. Then in Diamond the biggest adjustment was learning to fish for perfect parries.
I just don't understand how good players can resist the urge to command grab at every opportunity. Like, forget oki, idgaf about optimal setup, I want the SCOOP. I *fiend* for that grab. It's a habit, an addiction. It is my entire reason for playing Manon and I am very passionate about it.
I fiend for it but they also fiend to jump every chance possible to avoid it. So i have to take a hard knockdown with an anti air or 3 x LP into special usually
Even if you get the grab you're probably not getting as much damage as you would of a big combo starter. Besides you're never gonna land a grab if you don't give your opponent a reason to sit still and block.
@@evilded2 That's part of the fun of grapplers, that "Will I? Won't I?" you get to mess with your opponent with. I am a bit hyperbolic when I say EVERY opportunity, but like, comparing my own Manon gameplay to someone like iDom or Sajam they just don't do it nearly as often even when the opportunity is there. It feels wrong to see Manon not spinning her opponent into the ground or have her end a match with 2 medals. Of course, I'm basically a baby fighting other babies so I get it, not my place to judge, but it still *feels* like Manon was intended to play that risky life or death game you know?
@@cheddarbaybiscuit I remember telling my friends to "Just jump lol" when the game came out. Now they actually do just jump and I'm stuck having to anti air them 90% screaming *"Stop jumpin."*

Jamie's is worse, you have to watch a cutscene that clearly shows your character having an opportunity to play another mixup but you're forced to guess wrong

It is so weird seeing my username in a Sajam video. GGs, was an honor to fight one of my idols in the community and I hope to have a rematch where I dont spend 100% drive on a 35% combo lol
23:55 I have both played SF6 on the steam deck as well as cast it to my TV FROM said steam deck with the dock. Textures don't always load in, and character faces in particular are always low def. The game actually runs at a pretty consistent framerate, with minimal dips during gameplay on the most intense stages. I would REALLY recommend casting it to a TV tho. The deck is HEAVY, and trying to input precise controls while you're also lugging it around feels... rough.
Sajam casually getting master rank this quickly is almost discouraging, but entertaining. "Manon is the easiest character to get to Master" - Me sweating hard stuck diamond 4 with 47% WR "Haha ya totally"
I know Guile is a hard matchup for Manon, but here in the lower ranks, that matchup is free for her. Just spam the overhead kick, cause all they want to do is hold down/back, and they keep getting hit by it, so they don't know how to anti air without flash kick, and from there on, jump ins are free. Once you get to the higher ranks, good luck getting away with that though.
Cracks me up that in this climb Sajam keeps punishing hugely negative moves with the fierce fierce target ckmbo and then tells himself it's a terrible punish every time.
It REALLY seems like opening up the frames a hair for her projectile dodge, making it as open as Cammie's, would do a lot to give her the tools needed to get in on those zoners and shotos. Sure, there's other things that would be nice, but that one tweak would probably make the most difference overall.
I've picked up Ken as a sub. I'm not stopping doing cMK into Jinrai, that shit is way too funny with how often it works. Although I have to admit, when I finally get matched with someone who actually knows how to counter after 50 or so games I forget how to play like a normal person. lmao
1:54:25 This Luke had a mental breakdown after that loss. I can see him being pissed saying something about losing to some random ass Diamond low tier Manon or something.
At this point I think all Ken players are just doing 1 and done for the meme, I refuse to believe ALL Ken players are belligerent ego players, who only want to win.
How dare you besmirch the good name of Smashmouth or their Shrektacular hit "All-Star"? You should be honored to have their discography played through the speakers of Battle Hub for all eternity. Check yourself before you Shrek yourself, Mister Sajam FrechLastName
I know is more about the players, and maybe it’s because of pure hatred for Guile as a character, but as a Diamond Monan, my highest win rate it’s against Guile at about 60% last I checked. I also remember having a pretty high win rate against Guile’s in SFV with Mika season 5, again a bad match up.
I kind of want to try and get my Marisa MR to 1600 but now I need a new character to take to master. Kens is probably the best choice since I'm trying to improve before akuma but Ken's dumb and lame so I don't want to. Maybe Ryu? Maybe Gief just because he's dope.
"Next he's gonna tell us "water is wet"" - He was just validating the feelings of the person who were talking about what they got. Because it is valid to feel good for the effort you put into getting whatever rank you achieved and you shouldn't just look down on your achievement
It’s so irritating how people play against zangief and manon in this game. You spend 3/4 of the match chasing them around while they run and jump away constantly.
I was hoping by this time after playing against Sim as much as Sajam has thus far I wouldn't have to say this, but he hasn't figured it out yet. If you hit Sim during his teleport, you get a "forced knockdown" state on the Sim, allowing you to cancel on punish. So for example, Sajam was using standing MP when he called out the teleport. He can cancel that into qcb MK for example and get a full juggle punish. Pretty sure Manon can even get a qcf punch for a free medal as well. This imo is what makes Sim weak in this game. His teleport is easily hit out of and you get a full, easy punish when doing so. Once you crack Sim's defense, it's really easy to keep him down because of his teleport being so easy to counter on reaction. Pretty sure the "forced knockdown" state occurs on divekicks too, but something like that would be much harder to do against a Cammy or Jamie.
Pleased to report that Manon is easily top three in the Silver 3 meta where half the players don't know that jumping beats throws.
Ive gotten to gold with her at the beginning without the ability to use drive rush in combos. Just punish everything with grab lol
Her and Gief are immediate jumps to Silver 5. I almost feel bad, but I just can't get enough of those modern 1 button 360s.
@@Mario_blandI didn't learn her drive rush cancel bnb until I hit Platinum, and that was most of what carried me to Diamond. Then in Diamond the biggest adjustment was learning to fish for perfect parries.
That feels counterintuitive considering Silver player just jump regardless of how many throws you use
