The constant back and forth is frustrating. In the US, they’ll apprehend you quickly, and get to the chase, search the bags, find the drugs without delay etc. Aussies take their time and are too laid back.

As one officer stated in another video, "When the dog comes out of the interview room with a toy in his mouth, you know it's a good day!" Love those pups. They keep so much junk off the street and all they want in return is a rolled up towel or a ball. ❤

Actually, I’ve gotten past two drug dogs in two different airports, one returning on an international flight from Colombia. These dogs aren’t foolproof. Part of the strategy of using drug dogs is that they look for people to get nervous or behave strangely when the dog approaches them. I just stayed cool and had no problems. Law enforcement likes to portray those dogs as being better at their jobs than they are. Problem is you see all the times the dog is right but you don’t have any idea how many times the dogs are wrong, this makes people believe the dogs are foolproof.

A lot of times the people are spoiled at home. Their parents and maids do everything for them and they just roll their suitcase back into the terminal when their parents drop them off. Mother packs everything and they stuff it with food the kids like to eat at home sometimes without the kid knowledge but often they’re told casually what’s in there. At the border they pretend they don’t know what’s inside.

That's the point. When the officer asks you the question, "was it you that packed your bags", if the persons replies, no, it's an indication to the officer that the person is potentially hiding something because obviously who doesn't pack their own bags. They're only saying that because they are worried about getting caught with whatever is in their suitcase and it provides an excuse.

For those who were wondering. Lots of international students do not speak English well because the University and other college offers an intensive English course instead of fulfilling standardised English exam. Hence, people can get the student visa although their English is terrible.
The worst part is that lots of East Asian students do not even try to speak English much during their study and proceed to speak Chinese with their fellow Chinese. Hence, a terrible English skills even in the final year.
I am an Asian PhD student and saw this behaviour from lots of my Asian friends..

When you fine someone who has clearly done the wrong thing with $360 that is literally laughable. If you fine them $10,000 they would be 99% less likely to repeat the same thing again. And it would be a deterrent for others not to dare do the same thing. So this is where our system is failing Australia. $360 is an insult to people who do the right thing.
