With so many new Pokemon card grading services launching in 2021, it's difficult for collectors to decide which company to choose. Should you send your Special Arts and Secret Rare cards to PSA, BGS or CGC? Have you got a Booster Pack you want to grade? Or even a Booster Box? What about your Japanese Pokemon cards? Choosing a company that will find success long term could result in a massive return on your investment - and I think there's a way to choose the best ones.

My take continues to be that PSA has developed an unassailable lead in grading that it doesn't deserve. It really doesn't. It's not better at grading and its customer service and prices are awful. But it remains "king" because people have invested in the lie. So I really don't see it losing that position. Which is sad. I would love some of the new companies - Randolph's or Dan's - to make a dent, but I'm not holding my breath. Ultimately a big chunk of the whole grading game is a con. But a con we all keep supporting.

I believe ACE grading will work and thrive because Randolph truly loves the community, collecting, and Pokemon.
I have 50+ card to send for grading, now cosidering sending to ACE instead of the big 3 😄
I really hope ACE works as it would make it so much easier for UK and EU to get cards graded. They did do the soft launch technique so we shall see.
The UK has it rough, Australia shares many of the same problems (if not worse) so I 100% know how you feel.

CGC chat rooms are actually pretty good - most of the time, a rep will answer questions or open sub-forums on a topic.

The first step to success is to at least center the label. I don't know how anyone could screw this up. CGC's label was designed by helen keller but the slab looks nice.
This is why I don’t grade with CGC. It’s criminal!! They need to fix that thing ASAP.
I’m all for companies coming in and shaking things up. Competition is good for everyone, hopefully forces the established companies to up their game.

I can really see ACE working out in the UK for a long term alternative. I think the company does need to separate itself from Randolph over the years and let the Company speak for itself. I'd be concerned that if Randolph did something unrelated to the company that everyone hated, it could affect the company and value of the cards graded by ACE. But so far in terms of a launch, I've been impressed by the time they're taking and feedback they're taking on board 🙂

Idk why you thought this video was going to be controversial. My "incoming perfectly reasonable video" comment was on the money haha. While I am not a big fan of graded cards, I do agree with your points. PSA (and I think BGS) used to give paper slips that indicated what was wrong with a card but with the insane volume of cards it's clear why they stopped doing that. I think the two biggest things that hinder new grading companies are 1. the aesthetic of the slab & 2. the accuracy of their grades. Too many new grading companies will have a nice looking slab but will give a 10 to a card that should be a 7. This goes along with the consistency point that you mentioned.

I dont think its wrong to collect and preserve mint cards without slabbing and grading. Maybe Ill grade some stuff once everyones less interested
It's definitely not wrong at all mate - you do you! I haven't submitted anything all year, and I generally only grade doubles of cards I really, really love and want to have on the shelf. So I understand your process for sure.

I know Randolph isn't everyones cup of tea I think he is fine but with his new grading company ACE seems cool I like that they are doing something different like nothing else out there customising the label to fit the card amazing. Plus they are taking all the feedback and adjusting the label layout etc which is amazing and they aren't rushing it out. This is something that has loved pokemon cards since day one as a child and it shows alot of card consideration and knowledge has gone into this and I wish him all the best I think if any new company trives it will probably be this one even tho it hasnt opened up yet
sadly I really hate the Australian grading company CGA they just look really cheap and tacky not sure your thought on it JLUV
I think any new grading company needs a long term vision to succeed, and judging from the short term performance of most of these new companies, not many look like they have one.
To me a great idea to start a grading company is to just copy PSA and make it better lmao. Copy their slabs perfectly but make them better with a clear plastic instead of frosted and a cooler label, then go ahead and make everything better, no upcharges for expensive cards, easy grading system and great database that can be found on the website, quick turnaround times and if they slow down too much just limit the things you can grade/ create a queue, have your users know every detail about their cards and why it got the vote it got, get the toploaders/ semi rigids back to your costumers instead of just destroying them, things like this. A company here in Italy has done literally this and it's going great, I personally love it and the prices, when I sell the cards, are not bad at all either which just proves that a lot of people trust them.

@@okJLUV I replied a bit ago but also included an image, probably got deleted automatically lol. Oh well, it's called Graad, imaginative right? The slabs are literally identical to PSA but clear and the labels are green instead of red and with a way better design (in my opinion) that makes the grade stand out :P
great vid, was wondering if you could suggest any other website to buy cards other than rare candy cuz there shipping is too expensive to other countires.
Thank you - and for Japanese cards, right now, there aren't many - most stores worldwide are either out of stock, or (in my opinion) overpriced. Need to stay patient!
