My favorite Sedona ride! Me, my buddy and his 12 yr. old daughter rode it yesterday.. We've all ridden it plenty over the years. With a little coaching, Lilly was able to ride 99% of it this time! Including "the chute" section! And on her hardtail no less!!! So awesome watching her progression!! 😁 🤘🏼 🙌🏼
There happened to be a few other random dudes in the area , they were somewhat shocked and embarrassed that this little girl just rode down a bunch of stuff that they'd just walked down!! 😂
@@tmwjr777 I would have been one of those dudes...but I would have cheered her on. My 16 year old son rode about the same amount too (no coaching, he would have crashed listening to me). Awesome to watch the no fear and send it riding.
Nice work. Tim's a great dude, and Austin is an animal on the bike. Definitely one of my favorite trails. Looking forward to riding with you next time you're in town.
Awesome, I’m stoked you got to ride one of your bucket list trails. I’m from the U.K. and I’d absolutely love to ride Sedona it just looks totally different to anything I’ve ridden and so much fun. A true dream trail!
great video! finally gong to do hiline today, after at least 10 visits so far since I moved here! Tim is a great guy, met him at Spartan, he helped diagnose my front brake issue. I call him the silent warrior, because he didn't talk much on the group ride with Rob Drew, but he helped a lot of people and was just an all around awesome guy to ride with.
I watched one of your videos for the first time. I can tell you put a lot of thought into it. I appreciate how you try to not only show the trails but also tell a story. This is awesome for audience engagement. Good work my friend! I'm hoping to create videos equal to this quality soon. Just learning along the way. keep it up!
there's no better feeling than finally conquering everything on Hiline... and you did it on your first try!!!! hell yeah dude! I've ridden with Tim (quite a bit) and Austin... and they're some of my favorite riders to follow... Austin's wife was actually my favorite rider to follow in Moab... all the chunk and bonus lines to be found by her! Anyway... SO stoked for you dude! congrats!
I like the insight you gave on the climb, I've seen tons of Sedona, Hiline, and white line videos this week and nobody really talks about the climb up; it's all about the descent and bits with the most exposure. Ski season is in full swing here and since I don't have a fatbike, UA-cam is all I got for mountain biking! I already can't wait for next week's upload haha
So, I just went and rode this trail last weekend after watching your video. Those double black diamond features were crazy. I walked down them. Big props to you Tony. You got skills and balls. Very nice work
I approve of the color way of your bicycle! :) Hiline is one of those iconic rides that totally deliver, I love your analytic presentation of it instead of going F YEAH I SENT IT CHECK IT!! One needs a certain skill set to really enjoy this one (I never got myself to roll that wall at 4:45), but it's well worth it. The drop in to the chute, the chute itself and the cliff after are some of my favorite pieces of tech ever. You made quick work of it, love your ratcheting technique. Also, Austin SHREDS, what's his wheelset?!
Ive been watching your videos lately while on the indoor trainer. It's given me more motivation to stay in shape during the cold winter months. Thank you for making great content.
I have ridden, and walked, hiline once. Visited a few months ago, followed one of your great vids back then to use as a starting point... and DID HiLine - But... But I was only in about 7 months at that time. meaning, 7 months of mtb at all! :-0 FREAKED me out! LOL - those backside downhill 'features'... FEATURES - dude, I couldn't BELIEVE how tech, steep, and DEADLY those were to us mere mortals! Plan is to get back up there after some lessons and figure out how to ride this bike a bit more confidently. Seriously -NICE job on those downhill spots! WAY to go after that bucket list!! WOOOT!
You’re a beast T. MASSIVE GoPro effect in action here - those lines are so much steeper and more intimidating in real life, especially with the moondust. I walked all of the chutes except the last one. Walked a lot of the climb too! High penalty for failure.
Love AZ man, lived there for 8 years. If you get a chance, head down to Tucson, ride Mt. Lemon and Star Pass. There is another trail down their called the 50 year trail which I have yet to ride. Great vid man, they keep getting better and better!
Nice ride man! One of my favorite rides. I think the chute rides pretty easy despite the visual intimidation. Agree with you that @8 min is the hardest feature. Glad you checked this one off your list!
Contrary to popular belief, I actually got moRe satisfaction seeing that those first attempts were suCCESSFUL, than if you had eaten it, on the features at the end! Kudos, Tony!
Thanks for the info Tony… we arrived at Red Agave today and are riding all the trails in your footsteps, unfortunately we didn’t get the same chalet as you :(
I live under a big freakin rock. I know every single trail in Laguna, especially Aliso woods. I spent so much time studying Laguna trails I never bothered with other trails. Another thing, scaredness of heights for life, bro! I don’t think scaredness is a real word either.
@@TheOutsiderMTB also, thanks for that line video. Cleared lizard for the first time. Expect for that impossible climb part that literally no one can do.
@@Randombikekid my 15 yr old friend luke is the only person I've seen clean the whole thing in real life. I can always clear the first section, but the second part is so hard, especially with that cliff on the left
What a ride!! Definitely adding it to the bucket list, probably the best thing to come out of your Sedona trip so far....well except that live stream lol
I rode Hiline yesterday. The climb was exactly how described it - damn rocks! I found myself pushing bike up a lot of the tricky bits -tough climb. Did you clean that one section with the steps up to right turn then up the ledge? I found the downhill before major features the best part. I have to admit, I walked the features at the end, I am not skilled enough. I tried the last rolling down part and ended up crashing (not fun) and walked out. Anyway, thanks for the video, helped to visualize but seeing it in real life was amazing and way scarier than on TV.
