IZZO looked like it handled quite well, such a great place to stay and ride totally going on my list of vacay spots.. Awesome vid as always tony, cheers!!!
I've seen the Izzo in the background of some of your other videos and wondered when we'd see it on the trail... the wait is over! Great overview of the Izzo 🤘🏿
I'm glad you enjoyed the IPR. I've been loving mine, and all I've really had to do to it was add a DHF to the front and swap in a slightly larger volume spacer in the shock, and I'm glued to the trail now.
Great videos Tony! So Cal local here. I'm glad to see you reviewing a short travel trail bike, as a cross country/trail rider I'm a big fan of these types of bikes. Keep thr videos coming!
As a seperate question I'm curious as to how you think the YT Izzo would fair on alot of local So Cal trails like Chutes, Grasshopper, Rattlesnake, would it be capable enough for most orange county trails?
I just received my Izzo and it’s a super fun bike, my last bike was a 120 travel and I took it everywhere, so for myself the 130 will do just fine. I’m switching the remote out for the fox remote, for now I just moved over the rockshox remote so I can use my own grips.
Yikes! Lots of bumps and slightly unmarked “where’d the trail go? “ Red clay dirt is what central VA is made of! Can’t believe anything grows in it, but it does especially weeds. Love the bike info and telling it like it is. Real informative, T. As always, love seeing that cutie, Pip! Love and hugs.
FIT4 cartridge has a really distinct sound when it cycles. Can’t think of another that sounds like it. Although the GRIP2 seems to be the most popular for good reason I’m glad they keep the old F4 around. It’s versatile and if the frame manufacturer gets the valving spec right its got excellent performance.
I bought this same bike last month and have zero complaints. Okay well my only thing is the occasional loud noise coming from the front brake. The bike absolutely rips up and down and the spec is loaded at just a little over $5k USD. Great video!
Only thing with YT is the wait. I ordered my Izzo Launch Edition early November expecting it at the end of this month. Now I've been informed of a 3-4 week delay... Ahhhg!
@@TheOutsiderMTB Can't complain too bad as other bikes I were looking at were out of stock until the April-June time frame. Plus, it's snowy at the moment so I'll be riding my fat bike anyway... :)
That suspension is working it's ass off. I'm on 130/130 now and I love trail feedback (coming from BMX) but I need to upgrade suspension to get appropriate use out of this travel. Did the shock today. Trying to decide between RockShox and Fox fork as well as 130 vs 140 up front. Thinking 130mm Fox fork. We'll see :)
@@oceanman4282 I think 67deg is an ok rule of thumb, but off-course headtube angle isn't the only measure defining a bike category. But even than the Izzo remains a trail bike (66.0-66.5deg same as Trek Fuel Ex). Real cross country bikes have even steeper angles (eg Trek Supercaliber has 69deg, Top Fuel 67.5-68deg, Speci Epic 67.5deg). So the correct line-up would be Trail (Izzo) - All Mountain (Jeffsy) - Enduro (Capra)- Downhill (Tues). So far YT didn't make a XC bike. But you don't have to take my word for it: www.yt-industries.com/media/image/hvz/2020/bikefinder/bikefinder_jeffsy.png
Depends on what bike park. Summit, probably not, but Skypark is perfect for the Izzo because its so flowy and not technical. you're local to Skypark, you should take her up there for sure.
What size are you on? Have seen that the top tube on the XXL doesn’t line up with the seat stays. Wondering if that’s the same with the XL. Ordered my XL and that super sleek line is one of the things that made me want to get one.
I like your videos, great photography and enjoyed the review. Problem is too many adds, popup, etc. Fully understand having sponsors and good on you for calling out Red Agave resort for hosting you. Just my opinion on maybe keep the adds to one at the beginning and maybe one in the middle. Take care.
Trying to decide between the Izzo Pro Race or the equivalent build for the Santa Cruz 5010, both would be ideal for the type of riding I do. How does the Izzo feel in the air off jumps and drops?
Much more fun on a short travel, got a 2016 165./160 capra myself but it's the 120/100 downcountry that puts the biggest smile. You think this 130 Izzo will take big hits, jumps n big drops ok? Realistically I'm getting to old for anything over 5ft but do think the 120/100 is a bit worrying on jumps n drops Wondering if might be my perfect compromise
@@TheOutsiderMTB cheers bud. You say that's more rider confidence thing or what the bike will safely take (think I'm more concerned about breaking valuable carbon than free bones😉)?
@@joshiboy31 I think the bike was built in mind not to take the gnarlier stuff. Definitely feels like a purpose built bike. I think with what you saw in the vid is where it should ride.

Kinda bossy for a newb...if you can't ride a small rocky section , let the people that can ride by. Better to just get off the bike and walk it, you're asking for trouble doing what he was doing.
I was saving for that izzo and then this pandemic shit happened and the wait for it was too long, like 5 months. I got a salsa spearfish instead. I know there are two different bikes, I'm happy anyway.
"What if I wanted to go in the middle?" that part had me laughing out loud! This review was so great, and this is exactly how I feel about this bike! I actually PR'd a rock garden on one of my local trails on my first ride. Coming from a 2019 Stumpjumper Evo, this thing climbs 100 times better, but descends 99% as well! So stoked on this bike! I also bought that same hat with the bike, just noticed that 😂
@@mellissanash7517 Correct, of course travel isn't everything but geometry matters as well. But even taking that into acount, the Izzo still remains a trail bike. AM would be the Jeffsy in YT's line-up.

Makes sense. Given I usually stick to the moderate trails and do long rides the Izzo is more my bike. Thanks for the feedback!

It's not really the definition of a "real cross country machine", it's "just" a normal trail bike :)
