Pleas try a nice brandy maby fish eagle or even a conyac with ginger liquor and sweet or semi sweet lime, adding either Sprite for a large blend or a sweet lime flavoured cordial.... quantities to taste but double brandy single ginger liquor and double lime cordial is great or just pint glass with sprite instead of cordial
But you can keep it simple with just apple cider, NOT apple juice or hard cider, but apple cider and either apple Beam or Crown apple, warm your apple cider, add the whiskey, delicious

If you really want it Louisiana themed replace the maple syrup with pure sugar cane syrup
You need to add more ice. Too little ice actually overdilutes cocktails
