Thank you .....thank you....thank you! I am trying to get back into sewing after some 10 years. I always wanted to get into quilting but I thought it was so tedious to have to do the stitching by hand one by one. But one day I strolled into her shop and saw that quilts were not made by hand anymore. I even thought the blocks were made by hand boy was I wrong. My granddaughter who is only 14 is making a quilt. But I love the stitching on top of the quilts, that is what I want to get into. You are my first video on how to transfer the pattern. Need I say more but thank you. I don’t feel so scared about it any more. You make it look so easy. I feel like I can take on the world of quilting. From a beginner at my age! 😆 Susan

Very helpful. I was afraid I had to cut into the stencil first; so glad to find out a powder pounce goes through the template!

Here's a tip if your chalk is rubbing off - spray it with some Best Press! (or aerosol hair spray), and the iron off chalk will still iron off. Thanks Angela, We now have two things in common - we're both love red wine AND Pounce Pads!!

The thought of winging it is scary, but the thought of marking an entire quilt is mind-numbing! How many quilts did you FMQ before you really felt at ease?

Love your videos! I have a Bernina 710 and haven’t figured out how to manage the bulk of the quilt while machine quilting. What would be your top 3 suggestions on managing the bulk? I end up tying most of my quilts because I haven’t gotten a handle on the bulk. I typically make queen size quilts for my family....

Thank you for yet another quality tutorial. No offence meant but you had me hooked with the piecing shows. Will there be more?

Hi Angela, I love your videos and tutorials. I plan to order the quilting rulers after my space is set up. Where did you purchase the shelves in your sewing room? They would be perfect for my space. Charlotte

You make FMQ look easy. I find it difficult to manage larger/bulkier quilts on my machine. Some day I will figure it out :-)

I have two pounce pads-one light and one dark but I’ve never had much success in getting the chalk to come out enough to show up. Is there a trick to getting it started?

You may have mentioned this somewhere else, but i am in the market for a new machine. Can you tell me what machine you use in your videos for piecing and quilting? (P. S. Thank you for making these videos... You inspire!)

Just make sure that it is a water soluble only and not air. I marked an entire quilt, went to quilt it the next day and the pattern was gone.

What my quilt shop told me was to spray the chalk with CHEAP hair spray. It will hold the mark until you quilt it and won't rub off quite as easily nor will it disappear on you.

Full Line Stencil has their own chalk different from the “pounce” chalk. Also, Full
line does not brush/rub the chalk applicator, they suggest just short strokes across their stencils. Videos on utube regarding this.

You can only iron the white chalk off the colored pounce like the blue is not chalk and if you iron it it will be permanent
