- A trip across the Pennines to watch Scunthorpe play Curzon Ashton. Also a chance for me to see Zeph, now he’s living in Manchester and a chance for him to see some decent football 👀 Apart from last nights game wasn’t that decent. Yes we came away with the 3 points, though we had to dig deep for them. Thats the thing this season, all games aren’t going to be free flowing and pretty. We’ll have games like last night where our passing went awry. Where it led to chances for the opposition. It’s how we respond to that, that matters. Also I don’t feel the referee helped the game either, that’s another story though.
So first half we hit the post, they hit the cross bar. They also had a guilt edge chance with basically a free shot on goal which Fitzsimons saved. Passing was all over the place too.
Second half, passing was still sloppy at times. We created chances one of which led up to the goal. Scunthorpe putting a dangerous ball into the box, which somehow the Curzon player put behind - could have gone anywhere. The resultant corner being put away by Evans much to the delight of the travelling contingent of Scunthorpe fans. In a crowd of 767, 465 were Iron fans. Once again, the fans are a credit to the club. Mols had a great chance for Curzon and somehow managed to hit the side netting 👀
Best player for Curzon for me, was Buckley-Ricketts. Looked a threat for Warrington last season against us and once again last night. He made the last 15 minutes or so a little nervy at times. Barrows was up against it but did what he had to.
We go again with the visit of the aforementioned Warrington coming to Scunthorpe on Saturday. So get down to the ground and get behind the team once again 💪🏼👍🏼 #UTI

Yes Joe its looking good right now and should be enjoyed. As long as we as fans don't get too carried away, plenty of twists and turns to come still no doubt.

Yeah last season we’d have lost . So these games that we’re now winning are going to make a huge difference.
Haha only reason that 66 is in, is because I had to do a detour to pick something up on the way to Curzon. Thought I’d best clip out the other 21 wagons though 😉
Great vlog once again Gareth. To carve out a 1-0 victory, away from home, when the team has not played too well is a good sign. As the saying goes 'a win is a win'. Don't have to play nice football to get out of this league. Not sure about the standard of refereeing in this league though. Somebody's going to get hurt for sure. However, it's still happy days 😊. Finally, today I have just bought tickets for me and my Son in Law, for our first Scunny league game of the season this coming Saturday against Warrington for the Mortz Stand. I'll say hi if I see you.

More good stuff Gareth, thank you, sorry didn't get to catch up. As you say, dour game, but was never going to match last Friday. Can just make ourselves out in stand opposite you and even saw Reagan Ogle there too. As a bonus, got back home in just under 5 hours.
Yes main thing is the 3 points, however dour the game was. Least long journey back was worth it in the end 👏🏼👏🏼

Great defensive performance (incl Fitz). Even CB Evans scored the winner. Losing possession, misplaced passes and unforced errors dampened things, but fortunately we got it over the line. 3 pts is 3 pts as the old saying goes. Great start to the season so far. UTI.
The defence has been key this season. The addition of Nicholson to a back 3 has been huge. Not only is he good defensively but the throw he has also adds another dimension to our game. Once we stop giving other teams opportunities from our passing and errors i feel more calm at games haha I feel it will be a tough game against Warrington next, regardless of league positions. Fingers crossed another 3 points though.

Good video ,I commented last season when we won so only fair to comment when we lost. Think you will do it this season, appointed the right manager and someone who knows the league. Funny seeing how nervous you was watching and the different aspect of you being an ex league club fan and heavy weight on your shoulders. As someone who saw The Nash in North west Counties league , wasnt to bothered we lost and even proud we gave you a game . If you got a programme ,I put some nice comments about yourself n Iron army you tube. See you at the return 👍
