OSUT Feb 2012. Golf 2/19. The Drills seem to take a slightly different approach now. Which might not be a bad thing. Yeah, I felt the same way and it held me back. I went in 2005. I graduated and passed everything just fine, but I needed to let myself be confident and I was anything but that at 17 years old. My advice is enjoy the heck of out it and embrace every aspect. Be in each moment fully. Have self confidence. I thought it sucked at the time but looking back, I miss it. I had opportunities to grow that I could have taken far better advantage of. Step outside your comfort zone and do so with authority and confidence. The drill sgt I had the most respect for gave me advice on graduation day. Stop sliding through the woodwork. Stand up, take the lead. That is advice to remember. You may mess up sometimes, but you are there to learn and grow. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT! If you pay attention, absorb the material, force yourself to take the lead, and have fun, you don't need to worry about graduation. Its not hard. Dont make it what it isn't in your mind. Any day while you're there that you think this is the worst thing ever, remember thats good for you. Discomfort is a key to growth and you need to embrace that. Reception was the worst part for me, and one day I was in tears and went to the senior drill in the barracks and wanted to quit before going to my unit. He sat me down and told me that if I quit, it would be the worst mistake in my life. He was right. The army was the best choice I ever made for myself and I loved most of my time in it. Ive been out for 13 years now and miss parts of it every single day. Just remember, it's not that bad. Have fun bro! You got this. H-35th Engineer, 2005. D-795 MP, 2006.

The fort was renamed for a guy that landed his troops right in front of one serious ass hornet's nest in 1965...

This is the slimmest cycle of trainees I’ve seen in a while, usually there’s always at least 3-4 overweight ones
I’m heading there in a month, honestly a bit nervous n scared bc I don’t want to fail, this is what I want to do with my life, any tips for me before I head into basic training

@@JBS2018 thanks man, I’m nervous to go but I’m happy I’m able to do something new for myself and have something to be proud of. I will take your advice and I don’t plan to quit, I want have something I can speak of and be proud of til I die. Thank you once again.
Ft.Knox Kentucky I was in from 1993/2005
미국은 보병전체가 보직상관없이 모든 무기를 훈련에서 다루게 해준다는게 진심으로 부럽습니다. 한국은 진심으로 아직 갈길이 멀군요.
Graduated on September 6th
Something tells me once the cameras turn off, the real show begins lol. Never forgot my experience at FT Benning GA. 2-54 infantry battalion 2011. Anyone know SSGT Gibson? what a goddamn CHAD lol
What a difference from 1989. Our drills had their BDUS creased up and starched. These drills in this video look ate up.
Fool, you can't starch OCPs, this is a more modern and sensible army. Get on old man
It’s crazy lookin back at this and recognizing everything
I’m so happy to be out of bct lmao that was the best worst time of my life😂I’m currently in ait now been here for a month, have 3 months left here until I finally go to my first unit
Holy crap finally reloadable rocket launcher... I'm blown away
I'm assuming the part with the vehicles (Stryker, humvee, and Bradley) was the AIT phase of training?
New boom tube upgrade from the AT4
Back in the day when it was affectionately known as Ft Benning...We signed out in 1970 at the admin building on main post...6 of us lined up in front of a warrant officer seated at a table...Guy at the head of the line was 1st Air Cav...He go his discharge paperwork,, turned around to us,, and said "holy shit...we're still breathin' " And for you history buffs.. The fort was renamed for a guy that landed his troops right in front of one serious ass hornet's nest in 1965...

@@anthony26812 we only get one graduation right ? (Turning blue ) at 22 weeks
I was bound to be in this line up this year but their requirements are absolutely fcked now days. I was denied for having to much of a medical background and needing a faaaaat stack of medical records turned in. Recruiter ghosted me. They want goody two shoe boys with no medical history or broken bones/injuries. I was mechanic bound @ 33 years old at the beginning of this year.
Even though you feel training might be stupid in the moment. You Will be reciting that shit loudly with adrenaline hate anger energy pride and confidence eventually.
I finished basic training in 89. My drills were Viet Nam veterans and members of the Old Guard. I'm disgusted at the decrease in necessary pressure and lack of discipline.
Must have been nice to serve during peacetime. These kids are probably going to go fight the Russians in a few years.
What and where is Fort More!?
