- Jackson Hole really lived up to it's reputation - amazing advanced terrain. I was able to get a full experience in one day. I give a detailed guide one how to ski this awesome place if you only have one day.
He's got the right idea starting at Apres. Warm up on some blues and if it's a powder day, hit Saratoga bowl when the rope drops. This is one of the best areas on the mountain and it's usually pretty deserted. Then move over to Teton and hit the trees, Casper for lunch and over to Sublette and the Hobacks before your legs give out. Best mountain in America
Saratoga bowl is sweet but it's a Jerry trap especially on the track back into the resort. That run back is sketchy, Be aware of it.
@@LairAstro I agree with you.
Yup that's how I do it as well ⛷️👍.
Or you could go elsewhere😉
If it's a powder day I'd go as high up as possible and get on the Tram to Rendezvous Bowl, or if the Tram line is too long I'd take the gondola to Thunder and Sublette lifts. Higher = better snow. I'd also eat at Rendezvous over Casper as the food at Casper kinda sucks.
Just returned from a trip to Jackson. Seek out north-facing slopes (skier's left) as they retain better snow bc they get less sun. Casper is a great place to warm up with some quick and easy blue runs. The Sublette lift is the highest of the chairlifts and accesses some of the best terrain and snow, but it's old and quite slow. The Thunder lift is faster and accesses some excellent terrain too, so I tend to use that. I often do the Tram in the afternoon when the wait time decreases. The Tram gets you to the highest and best snow (and Corbet's if you're into that), but the wait times are often long in the morning.
The most intense mountain that I ever snowboarded. I have lived in Colorado too. Great video.
I grew up snowboarding in CO. I was a bit shell shocked on my first run down from the top ot the tram. Takes a few laps to adjust to the relentless steeps.
Jackson Hole is by far my favorite. Great job with the video.
You really didn't have very good snow last February. I've skied there many times with those conditions. Jackson can be like that sometimes. Grand Targhee has a lot better snow. In my opinion better skiing. I totally get why everyone wants to ski Jackson. Some of us locals like to hit GT when Jackson is on the icy side. Less people at Targhee and I think so awesome skiing there if you like a little more powder. Don't know if you're been there. Totally worth it. And Big Sky is another amazing ski area. Lone Peak is great. Great video! You did an excellent job showing JH.
You are awesome! Thanks for the prep vid.
Good info for intermediate skiers, though I also recommend using the Bridger Gondola and running laps on Sundance, an absolute screamer! For advanced and expert skiers, I recommend tree skiing on the right side of the mountain and the runs draining into Amphitheater and Laramie Bowls on the left. I've been twice and had completely different experiences but both times were an absolute blast!
I love these guide videos. It was super helpful for our trip to vail. Thank you. It would be amazing if you would make one for Killington in the future.
It's definitely on my list! Maybe next season.
Great vid, I’m heading out to Jackson nxt week, liked your tour., & you are a great skier doing the blacks w/ go pro stick 😮
Great overview, thanks!!
Greetings from another Karl who has skied Jackson many times. I have skied all over the west and Jackson is definitely one the steepest mountains out there. Good job on the video!
Went to Jackson Hole for the first time this year, what a bucket list place to visit. The blues there are the same steepness of blacks in Tahoe, CA. For those looking for expert terrain, you'll get a solid leg workout on the Hobacks. 10/10 would recommend going to Jackson Hole.
Great video I’ll be there next week. And this video will definitely help
Super informative!
Our trip was amazing. Thank you.
Thanks for the insights. Our ski club will be there Jan 14th through the 21st. This was a good overview ahead of time. Although I am older, I still race and enjoy tree skiing. Based on this video Cheyenne Gully with it's hard-packed huge moguls looks like the opposite of anything I would be seeking. Give me hard packed Piste or a steep tree run buried in powder. Would have loved to have seen some footage of the black runs but since none was included here, that will give me the opportunity to provide those on my channel afterwards which reminds me, I never DID post any of the Whitefish footage so I need to go dig up my Go Pro footage I had from that and get it up on my channel here
Thanks bro. I am heading out to Jackson Hole, for the first time in two weeks. Just like you, a life long goal of mine. Your video really helped me to understand, what I need to do.
Just saw your comment 10 months later, I’m hitting up Jackson Hole one month from today. How did your trip go?
Sooo niceeee !!! I need to
Learn for
To ski or snowboarding ❤❤❤
Ive been to the same resort and is the best skiing I have ever done
Nice work. Must admit to being surprised when your best run of the day was...Cheyenne Gully. I never seek it out but it can be fun, and was expecting one of the Hobacks. Being '21-'22, maybe coverage wasn't adequate. So many opportunities for "best run" there.....
When you go back you need to check out the Hobacks. You will like them.
i can barely hear you when the music is playing
Sick video, just wondering when was this filmed? Heading there next week and the conditions in this video look a lot better than how it is being described online as of right now.
This was Feb. 23 2022. About two weeks ago.
Love from Nepal kathmandu
Mt Revelstoke in British Columbia Canada has the highest Vertical runs in North America over 5500 feet , with Advance Runs ,
Skiing Jackson Hole in one day is impossible! 😂
Out first time there was 1977-8 over Christmas & New Years.
10-day trip.
Not including drive time from Detroit.
Wow that peak view. how do you like Jackson Hole vs Big Sky?
Jackson Hole is amazing. I haven't been to Big sky yet - it's on my list - maybe next season.
If visability is good. Dont piss around. Go directly to the top of the tram. Cheers.
Where do the complimentary tours gather in the morning? Trying to start out a 4 day trip by seeing the whole mountain.
When I was there they gathered pretty close to the bottom of the sweetwater gondola.
So try Europe......it's higher level . The top si similar from ours mountains. (france)
Thank you for this very interesting video.
I was told jackson hole is the only place in USA where you ca practice freeride!
So it should interesting to try this resort. One day !
Not trying to insult or nothing, but the title a bit misleading. It’s more skiing the village (local slang) than “skiing Jackson hole in a day”. You missed alot of other places then just the resort.
GUY YOU ARE BARELY AN INTERMEDIATE BLUE TRAIL SKIER . YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO BUSINESS ON ‘’ANY’’ BLACK SINGLE DIAMOND UNLESS YOU GOAL IS TO GO HOME IN A BODY BAG😂.
