After a long abusive relationship with her husband Ike turner and she broke away and made a name for herself in the 80s and 90s as a solo artist. She toured up until the late 90s. She is retired in Stockholm Sweden I believe in Germany. She gave up for US citizenship. She’s 82 years old as she is battling stomach cancer. He was a farewell documentary on Showtime about her life. In 1992 the movie “what’s love got to do with it“ starring Angela Bassett as Tene and Lawrence Fishburne is ache garnered academy award. It was a movie based on a true story for life. Aretha Franklin was the queen of soul, but Tina Turner was the queen of rock ‘n’ roll.

Sweet, young twins! It's so odd and touching to see you reacting to this queen without knowing her story. She survived serious abuse and exploitation, and went on to continue her career as a solo musician and reclaim her power. These lyrics can only be understood in the context of her life and story. She suffered a great deal because of the person she loved, because she had a big heart. I don't think they truly represent what she believes, but most likely reflect what she felt and thought for a period of time.

That's hard to believe. These guys look my age (27) and yet I've been listening to these songs since I was a LITTLE KID. You cannot be black and an American and not grew up listening to TINA TURNER music to be ignorant of them by 2021. These dudes were living in caves.

I’ve been a huge fan ever since. I mean I loved her with Ike, but she was just even more amazing when she was finally able to control her own career.
