Hi, Twins. Here's a fact for you two. Tina Turner was 44 years old when this song went all the way to hit #1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboard Soul charts around the same time in the summer of 1984. This is the biggest hit song of her career!!! She's a living legend indeed!!!

She was in her ear,y 40’s when this song hit.. She was the fire behind the dynamic duo Ike and Tina Turner review in the 50s 60s and 70s. After a long abusive relationship with her husband Ike turner and she broke away and made a name for herself in the 80s and 90s as a solo artist. She toured up until the late 90s. She is retired in Stockholm Sweden I believe in Germany. She gave up for US citizenship. She’s 82 years old as she is battling stomach cancer. He was a farewell documentary on Showtime about her life. In 1992 the movie “what’s love got to do with it“ starring Angela Bassett as Tene and Lawrence Fishburne is ache garnered academy award. It was a movie based on a true story for life. Aretha Franklin was the queen of soul, but Tina Turner was the queen of rock ‘n’ roll.

Sweet, young twins! It's so odd and touching to see you reacting to this queen without knowing her story. She survived serious abuse and exploitation, and went on to continue her career as a solo musician and reclaim her power. These lyrics can only be understood in the context of her life and story. She suffered a great deal because of the person she loved, because she had a big heart. I don't think they truly represent what she believes, but most likely reflect what she felt and thought for a period of time.

You will LOVE Proud Mary, her most iconic song; find a video of her dancing, not just singing, Proud Mary, because it has been replicated by many artists and also pop culture parodies for years afterward. Tina Turner is a goddess -- and a true survivor. She was brutally abused by her husband, Ike, for many years, but she overcame the violence. She still has trauma from that time even as an old woman today (a recent documentary explores this) but she survived and became powerful and beloved for her music, her dignity, her grace, and her individuality.

This was her come back after years of being in a very abusive marriage and them having no career. No one thought she could hit the top of the charts in her forties. And she killed it.
Although I am a huge fan of her entire career (and you REALLY need to check out her back in the day . . . she was EPIC), I Can't Stand the Rain is such a banger.
